You know, some Mega Man Zero series bosses fit well in this topic.
Let's see... Aztec Falcon (first serious boss of MMZ1, after the Intro Stage Golem) is sort of based on a griffin.
Anubis Necromancess III (MMZ1) and V (MMZ3)... well, I don't really have to explain this one, do I?
There's Phoenix Magnion of MMZ2, and the name should be self-explanitory.
In Mega Man Zero 3... we have Devilbat Schlit (who is loosely based off of the vampire, and the vampire bat), Cubit Foxtar (based off the kitsune), and Tretista Kelverrian (based off Cerberus), to name only a few.
And for Mega Man Zero 4, there's Fenri Lunaedge (an ice element werewolf boss), Mino Magnus (take a wild guess!), and Sol Titanion (based off of the fairy queen Titania), again, to name only a few.
As you can guess, a LOT of the Mega Man Zero enemies are based off of myths and legends. Anyone wanna see the references?
