Vazzindor:
The Dread Forest


The casual traveler avoids Vazzindor at all costs and for this reason there isn't a great deal of information that circulates about the woods. The local legends however speak of a wizened sorcerer who entered the woods many years ago, before Vazzindor earned its dark nickname. Bright lights would flash, storms would originate from seemingly nowhere and natural disasters seemed to fall upon the land. Everyone agreed that the sorcerer was committing some unspeakable atrocity from the woods. When some of the locals ran to the woods to drive the madman out they never came back. Screams came forth from the woods, sounds of agony so great it seemed as though they would never stop.

Since that awful night monstrous creatures with vast aggression can be found walking in and around the Dread Forest. During the night when the moon is out you can see the spirits of the dead wandering lost through the forest. As to whatever the fate of the sorcerer was, no one can be certain.
