Batholith: The House of Dark Stone At one time the city was nothing but a small plateau towering above the surrounding lands and left unweathered by time. Skilled workers and magicians of old took the land and carved a grand city of stone from it. A city of learning and legends, the inhabitants have a large library detailing the lore of the land. However there is a lack of order maintainted within the walled confines of the city. Murder, theft, corruption and even experimentation in dark arts goes largely unnoticed by the ruling body of Batholith. Locations inside BatholithDark Robes Tavern: The local gathering for scum, mercenaries, and shady people in general. Why any normal, upstanding person would come to this part of town or to this city is hard to understand. Central Library: This is the largest gathering of books on Gaia-ante. There is a large section about the legends of Gaia-ante one of which includes the sealing of the caves of Lossos. It says that before they sealed the caves the leader of the monsters swore revenge on Batholith, though 100 years have passed and still no attack has ever been launched. The event was forgoten and written off as mythology as the people living here turned to there own corrupt greed instead.

In the fields just outside of Batholith a young man was laying in the grass and staring into the skies. It was truly amazing, how vast and full the skies were and how they seemed to reach up without any boundaries. Slowly he dragged his fingers through the moist blades of grass. Batholith was such a dark and gloomy city and yet he was never without some form of entertainment.
His fingers shut on one of the blades and he plucked it from the field, resting it in his mouth and chewing on it lightly. Today was a good day to relax with nothing pressing at hand.

Landing silently near Batholith, Toni wrapped her own wings before adjusting her shirt and a cloak over herself, her tail wrapped around her waist as she moved through the fields. Traiza gave a ragged cry as he began to wave his arms at her. "Its alright, we'll feed you. Just not right now, we can't yet. Just sleep," she said waving her hand over Traiza's face as he fell into dreams. Smiling at the nifty little spell she carefully laid him in her bag before marching on toward the city

So Argeos lay in the grass quite calmly, dozing gently as the cool breeze touched his face gently. There had been a cry, like one from a child, but it didn't register on his mind. Grinding the blade of grass beneath his teeth a little more he didn't even notice the strange woman travelling his way, threatening to step on him if neither noticed the other's presence.

Adjusting her bag so Traiza could sleep comfortably she didn't notice the young man that was soon beneath her feet, tripping her. Her cloak flew out as the cloth under her shirt around her wings fluttered off to the ground. Twisting as she fell she wrapped her arms around the bag to keep from landing on it or letting it fly as she hit the ground on her back. Cursing she sat up and glared at the man, forcing back her urge to let her eyes turn red

Rolling around on the ground the man got up to his feet rather quickly and scowled at the woman. "Watch where you're going you-" he stopped midsentence upon seeing her wings. Looking around rather carefully he let out a sigh.
"I really didn't want to do any work today," he lamented. "But now it seems like I've no choice in the matter. Isn't that just the way it goes?" Drawing a rather large looking sword, the man frowned for a moment. "Tell me what business you have here."

"My business is none of your's," Toni said shortly as she rehid her wings. It didn't matter if one rogue man saw them. Picking up her back she gently rocked it to keep Traiza asleep. "Put that down before you poke your eye out," she sighed, shaking her head at him

"I recommend you watch your manners, demon," he said with distaste in his voice. "My business is dealing with the likes of you." Spitting out the blade of grass he had been chewing on until this point he pointed his sword at her but still didn't attack. "It's my business to know your business, and I'm afraid this won't go anywhere unless you are willing to comply."

Toni was flabbergasted. This man had just called her a demon and was still butting into her business. All she wanted was a drink... or three and some time to plot how she was going to attack Sorsoleil. Narrowing her eyes they turned red, she simply couldn't stop it. "You will get your nose out of my business or bleed," she hissed at him, her tail uncoiling as it began to twitch annoyedly

The broadsword began to glow a pale green color as he didn't move at all. This one was most likely a powerful demon and there was no way he was going to kid around. However, he could do this all in one shot if he just bided his time a little. "My sword's name is Nicolai... together we've slain more demons than you'd care to count. My name is Argeos Tenum, remember it in hell."
He swung his sword downward and it released a rather impressive blast of energy that seemed to cleave its way through the ground on which they were standing, throwing rocks, dirt, grass and anything else in the cleave's path into the air. A direct hit with that would probably have levelled a house. After unleashing the attack, Argeos fell to one of his knees and held himself up using the sword.

Simply stepping to the side, Toni frowned as the blast missed. Looking over at him with a puzzled look she just shook her head. "Is that really the best you've got? Please tell me that can't be all you've got. You seriously can't be tired," she sighed, motioning for him to try again

"Damn," Argeos said as he started to breath heavily. Was it all he had? No, there was certainly more. He could probably manage to fire off two more blasts at approximately the same power before he collapsed. But obviously she had seen the attack once and wasn't going to be hit by it. His palm glowed in the same pale green color for a moment as he touched the ground and then he pushed off and leapt into the air, about to bring down his sword to cleave the demon woman in half.

Raising her hand she held Argeos in the air and just shook her head at him. "Too hasty," she said before making a shooing motion that sent him flying off back the way he'd just come

Hitting the wall with a solid thud, he got up without so much as an injury to his body. The attack wasn't really meant for offense though, was it? Pointing his free hand at her, he smiled. "Very well, if we're going to play like that then I can play like that. Nature's Fury!"
Nothing happened, at least, nothing shot from his hand like one would expect. Nothing more than a dulle pale green glow encompassing his hand. Of course, that was obviously not the case. The grasses around Toni's legs had become wild and started winding up her legs with a life of their own, trying to hold her down. It was then that he dashed forward to thrust his sword through the demon's chest.

Toni didn't pay much mind to the grass around her legs as it bound her to the spot, she still had her own power. Holding up her hand she stopped him just far enough away that no matter how he swung or leaned he couldn't hit her, the sword itself encased in her power to prevent her from being stabbed. "It appears we're at an impass..." she started before she realized the attack was familiar. Shaking it off she stopped as her bag began to wriggle and cry. Sighing she glared at Argeos. "You woke him," she snapped as she reached in and pulled out Traiza as he thrashed and wailed
