Chapter 1: Prelude to the Nightmare
"Urrgh..." Groaned a five year old male werewolf as he awoke from his headache-inducing slumber. He rubbed his forehead wiping away the sweat that had resulted from his nightmare. His shadow-like fur and hair were well pressed against his head and body dripping with sweat. On top of him lay a female wererabbit who appeared to be younger than the werewolf by at least two years. Her snow-white fur and indigo colored hair stood out against her light blue nightgown. Her long, floppy ears slowly moved from her the sides of her head to her back as she slowly woke up and looked into the eyes of the werewolf.
"Mmm..? What's wrong my love?" She asked softly as she smiled to him. Before he could answer she moved up his body a bit and sweetly kissed his lips and giggled in her normal cute way. The werewolf sat up in the bed and blushed a little before shaking his head as he wiped the sweat from his hands to his red pajama pants. He smiled a little when he looked down and noticed that his shirt and pants were still on him.
"Delta? Oh, I had a...wait a minute...why are you in my room and sleeping on top of me for that matter?" Replied the werewolf as he gave Delta a look that questioned her sanity. Before she could answer, he tried to move back which didn't help because she only moved closer to him whenever he moved or shifted.
"Because I love you dearest Omega." Delta replied to him before moving even closer to him and sweetly kissing his lips again. She then began blushing as she gazed into his eyes. "And besides, when we're married, we'll be doing this and much, much more together." She said in a loving tone with a wink. Omega only replied with a shaking of his head and a sigh. Why did mom and dad have to have a passionate moment together during that picnic last year? He thought to himself as he looked at Delta.
"You're one sick little bunny..." He said with a slight grin. He then shook his head again. "Too bad your little fantasies won't come true. You and I can't get married and that's because we-"
"Because we're siblings..." Delta growled as her fur took on a shade of red indicating that she was now upset. "You always say that Omega and I hate it! You and I were practically made for each other and you know it!" She exclaimed as she poked Omega's nose.
Omega and Delta continued arguing for quite some time, and, in the end, Delta somehow managed to gain over her brother. The only sounds that could be heard from Omega's room was the door being shut, a thump, and a snicker. A couple hours later, the door opened and Delta walked out leaving the door wide open as Omega now laid on the ground naked. He slowly began to awaken from the slumber that Delta had placed him in thanks to a small wooden bat. He felt both dizzy and groggy and a little cold as he looked around his room. He jumped when he saw the door open and his nudity. "What the? Argh! She did it again..." He said rubbing his forehead. "This makes the 50th time this year." He groaned as he got up and found his clothes. He quickly got dressed before anyone else saw him naked and sighed once more. Mom and dad never should've done that in front of us..but they couldn't help it... He thought as he shook his head.
Just as Omega finished getting dressed, another male werewolf had walked into the doorway. He was the exact same age as Omega and looked just like him except that he was a little bit taller and had dark blue fur. His hair, like Omega's, was a shadow-like black. Unlike Omega's caramel-colored eyes, this werewolf had piercing light green eyes. He wore a white pajama shirt that was missing its sleeves with a blue pair of pajama pants. The truth was, aside from their differences, the two werewolves were identical twins. He chuckled at Omega before speaking, "She got ya again huh?"
"Yeah..."
"It makes me wonder if you and her really will get married when we're older..."
"For now...it seems that way..."
After Omega had finished his sentence, a tiny infant werecat crawled into the room and over to Omega. She mewed softly as she reached up to him wanting him to pick her up. She began nuzzling against his leg as she began purring until Omega picked her up. She wore a light pink nightgown that went past her little legs along with a reddish bow in her shiny, white hair to hold her ponytail. She also had another reddish bow on her tail which covered one of the white rings of fur on her tail. Her fur was somewhat resemblant of a tiger, except it was a robin's egg blue with white stripes along her back, sides, and three white rings on her tail. She giggled playfully as she looked up at Omega and continued purring softly.
Omega smiled sweetly down at the little kitten that he now gently cradled in his arms and softly kissed her forehead. He chuckled softly as his tail reached around and began to lightly tickle her side. She giggled even more as she blushed and purred louder. Her tail moved around as she giggled and soon found Omega's tail and began to slowly wrap around it like a snake to a tree branch. For awhile, the dark blue wolf had been silent, but decided to finally speak up again as he watched the two in front of him. "Wow, you and Anna get along really well together. Delta would sure be jealous if she saw that."
"Oh c'mon Sigma. I did the same with Delta. Anna's just bein' affectionate."
"Yeah. With you, Delta, Mom, Dad, Lucky, and Grandma." Sigma said with a snort.
"She would be the same way with you had you not ignored her whenever she cried. She's our baby sister, we're responsible as her older brothers and semi-role models to ensure and maintain her safety and well-"
"Blah blah bloopity blah! Look, we go through this at least five times a week..." Sigma replied with an annoyed tone as he approached Omega and Anna.
"Look, let's not argue around Anna or Lucky." Omega said as he gently stroked Anna's left cheek."
Anna snuggled against Omega's arms still purring as her ears twitched a little. She yawned softly before hearing something close and looking over at the doorway. When she saw an infant weredog sitting at the doorway, she smiled and wriggled about in Omega's arms wanting him to let her down. "Luck-luck!" She called to him cheerfully as Omega put her down. The werepup was the same exact age as Anna and just as big. He wore a small brown pajama outfit that made his green fur stand out. His hair was just as green as his fur and was done in a small braid that only went as far as his neck. His eyes were of a ruby red shade. He also had a big, white spot over his left eye which made his eye color stand out more. He also wore a small pair of glasses which seemingly added a dignified look to him.
At the sound of his name, well most of it, the puppy began yipping as he crawled into the room. Both Omega and Sigma smiled as they looked down at the pup and greeted him. "Hey Lucky." Lucky smiled at everyone as he wagged his tail. Anna quickly crawled over to Lucky and playfully tackled him as she mewed and licked him. The group of siblings began laughing and playing as Delta walked back into the room and joined in on the fun. They continued playing and laughing as their grandmother walked into the doorway.
Their grandmother was a kind, elderly werewolf that was still as fierce a fighter as she was in her days of youth. She was around her mid-70's and had hair as white as snow, whereas her fur was of a somewhat dull silver with black streaks along her arms, back, and even her hair. She wore an olive colored sun dress with a few ornate dragon patterns around it. Some would say her cackle sounded like a witch with laryngitis, yet she was nothing like a witch, despite that she did make potions and often cast spells.
When the children had noticed their grandmother standing at the doorway, they stopped playing and smiled cheerfully. They then lined up, standing side by side, as they bowed and greeted her.
"Good morning Grandmother." Omega, Delta, and Sigma said in unison.
"Gramma, Gramma!!" Said the two infants as they looked up at her with wide grins.
Their grandmother smiled sweetly at them and softly cackled before speaking to them with her normal, soft voice. "Good morning little ones. She said to them as her tail slowly moved about as she looked at them. "Hehe, you all do know that you don't have to do that when I'm around right?"
Delta giggled as she smiled, "We know, but we like to anyways." As Delta spoke, both Omega and Sigma smiled and nodded in agreement. Lucky and Anna moved their tails about until their stomachs began growling. At that moment, Lucky began whimpering while Anna began mewing for food. Their grandmother giggled a little before scooping the two infants up and smiled at them, "I came to tell you guys that breakfast is ready. Your mother and father are in the kitchen setting up the table and everything. Let's go give them a hand." She said before walking out of the room and heading for the stairs.
The children nodded as they walked out of the room following their grandmother and youngest siblings. Omega grinned and jumped over the railing of the second floor, followed by Delta (who loved to do things that Omega did). Sigma smiled and began laughing as he rode down the stair railing down to the first floor. Somehow, the trio landed at the exact same time, which astounded them for a moment until they started laughing. Their grandmother, who was still descending the stairs, shook her head and laughed a little as well.
It seemed like just a normal day in the Alpha home, but today was special. Omega smiled in a bright, cheerful manner as he sped off into the kitchen. He was so cheerful and exited that he almost ran over his mother as she carried a large plate of pancakes and a pitcher of maple syrup to the table. Their father laughed heartily to the incident and picked Omega up. "Whoa there pup. You must be really excited about tonight huh?" He asked with a big smile on his face.
"Yup, I love parties like these. There's always so much to do and all the people!" Omega replied with just as big of a grin as his father's.
Their mother giggled softly as she set the pancakes and syrup on the table. Delta merrily skipped into the kitchen and began helping their mother carry the rest of the plates of pancakes to the table. After entering the kitchen, Sigma walked over to the counter and began carrying a couple large, well-crafted pitchers that had been practically filled to the brim with freshly squeezed orange juice. Omega chuckled as he began assisting their father with making more orange juice. Their grandmother stepped into the kitchen smiling softly at her son and daughter-in-law. "Good morning Trevor. Good morning Dawn. How are you two this morning?"
"Momma, Momma!" Anna called out as she looked at her mother.
"Daddy!" Lucky called out as he wagged his tail.
"Good morning Jessica. I'm fine, and how are you this morning?" She said as she smiled and placed the final plate of pancakes on the table. She then walked over to Jessica and picked up Anna. She gently kissed her youngest daughter on the forehead and giggled sweetly. "Good morning Anna. How is my little kitten on this fine morning?" She then picked up Lucky and kissed him on the forehead. "Good morning Lucky. And how is my little puppy today?"
Anna's and Lucky's only reply to the question was a simple, "Hungwy." To this, Dawn laughed softly and nodded. "Alright. I'll be back in a bit everyone." She said sweetly as she walked into the living room unbuttoning her blouse to feed the infants.
Trevor chuckled softly as he nodded, "Alright." He then turned to his mother and smiled, "Good morning mother. I'm fine as well and excited about tonight. And how are you?"
"I'm fine as well. It'll be good to see everyone again. I heard that your cousin Jermaine had quintuplets. So many additions to the family. It'll be great to meet them." Jessica said as she smiled.
Dawn came walking back in with the infants who were now yawning softly. She placed them in their seats and smiled to her husband and mother-in-law. "That's right. I'm so excited about tonight. It'll be great!" She said as she cheerfully moved her tail about.
Ok, now before going on even further, you might as well learn a little about Dawn and Trevor. These two were an interesting couple. The one main difference between them was that Trevor was a 22 year old dog and Dawn was a 20 year old cat. (By now you all should know that the whole family consisted of werebeasts.) They loved each other very much and it showed. On a few nights, about 20 to 30 times a week, everyone in the house would hear the two of them at play. Surprisingly, Dawn only gave birth three times, though it wold seem that she would have had more with as many times as her and Trevor made love. Despite that the two of them became very noisy when they were 'busy', the others didn't mind it. The children would often use the noise as a way to fall asleep, and Jessica didn't mind it at all because it always reminded her of the fun she had with her late husband, Max (who was a rabbit).
Dawn was often considered a trickster and loved to play. She was also very sweet and caring towards everyone she knew, and could often be found either in the house cooking or taking care of the children, outside in her beloved garden, walking around the forest on Koketsu, or down in the village chatting up a storm and buying food, spices, and other things. It was hard to believe that anyone didn't like her, but there were some and those would be the wives of the men who found her to be irresistible. Despite her delicate looks, she was quite strong and powerful. She was skinny even though she tended to eat more than Trevor and never gained a single pound. Her fur was a lot like Anna's, except she had white fur with blue stripes and her hair was of a teal coloration. She often wore beautiful, lavish dresses and outfits along with a royal purple ribbon on her tail. Her lovely green eyes were both soft and calm and were often the first thing that anyone noticed when they saw her. She seemed like she would have been a supermodel, a princess, or something like that, but in actuality, she had grown up in a large family of farmers on a far-off island known as Kogetsu. Often, she had a relaxed look on her face, but this look was sometimes just a mask of her true feelings (Well, when she was younger, nowadays, that look was actually how she felt). This look of hers often frightened others since it seemed as if she had no other reactions than that half-eyes closed, soft smiling visage. What truly frightened pretty much everyone was when that normal, relaxed look was replaced with one of rage and fury. When she became really angry...well let's just say that the phrase 'Run for your lives' took on a literal meaning. But after she finished unleashing her rage, she would become unusually calm and cheerful.
Trevor was a little more serious than Dawn. He loved playing, but he still would maintain, or at least try to maintain, a sense of control. Despite his physical appearance, no matter how intimidating it was, he was very kind and caring. He was a mountain of a beast standing at about twice the size of his beloved Dawn (who was only 5'2") and was heavily muscular. He often found great joy in flaunting his strength by lifting massive objects and laughing not even breaking a sweat. He could often be found in his home either playing with the children or with Dawn, walking through the forest trying to found something to lift, or in the village flexing his muscles along with the fishermen receiving multitudes of cat-calls from the women who were around. Whenever he was in the village, he could be found either semi-flirting with the ladies or helping out the fishermen. He wore various types of jeans and shirts of various designs, materials, and colors. He sometimes carried two gigantic, dual-bladed axes on his back when he went out into the forest to either train, gather firewood, or hunt (Yes, he did hunt and often sold most of is catch in the village marketplace). His hair was of a pale yellow color which stood out against his light, chocolate brown fur. His eyes were of a semi-dull green, somewhat showing age, though he was still quite young. Normally, he was highly friendly and loved to meet new people along with talking to friends and family, but when he was in battle, he became a fierce and nearly merciless warrior unless it was a sparring match, training fight, or play fighting with the kids.
-Ok, now back to the chapter's story...or what's left of it...-
The family sat down to eat breakfast and cheerfully talk about the party that would be starting that night. The party was going to be the annual family reunion and absolutely everyone in the family was going to be there. The entire forest, despite that they didn't own it but got permission to use it for such large-scale events, was going to be used for the party. Dawn and Trevor loved to throw parties and often made up reasons to have them. Nobody minded it since everyone on the entire island was invited to the parties, with the exception of the family reunions. Whether it was a formal party or not, everyone was guaranteed to have a blast. They were increasingly excited abut the party since this year, there would be well beyond 300 guests attending. The children, of course, were just as excited as their parents were and couldn't stop bouncing about in their seats as they stared at the clock on the wall. That night would surely be a night to remember...
