    LETTER FROM THE EDITOR:
Well ladies and gents, it's been almost two years since the last issue, and I hope that such a time gap never happens to the magazine again - even if it means that I have to write each article in blood.

Although this is entitled the Catch-Up Issue, I decided not to put in the effort to cover past items or events.. mainly because I don't have that kind of time, but hey - they're so old that I'm sure each of you reading this do not need my - or anyone else's - commentary.

This issue (#6!) has some new features, which I hope everyone likes.. I cleaned up the old magazine guideline, so that it was easier to read, understand, and follow (as a writer). I also wanted to make sure that there was no overlapping articles, so some things were condensed, or completely done away with. I categorized articles as either 'must haves', or 'optional' - which is meant to help me, or any other editor, put the magazine together. Renaela and I used to be accustomed to shirking school or home duties so that we could write out every single article for the zine.. but now, the magazine puts more responsibility on you, the member. If you want the magazine to be fuller, that means that you or your friends have to step up and help with an article - otherwise I will only write so much.

I hope you guys enjoy this issue.. I'd like to thanks all the mods and members, and most importantly - thank you to those who read the magazine.

    GUILD NEWS
Much to my dismay, there is not much to report on! We have a lot of new, great members (and a lot of old ones too, of course) - but as usual, the guild is without spark.

However, even with the low sperm post count, Renaela, myself, and the other moderators, will put in a great effort to make sure that this year in the guild is filled with lots of contests and game/events. I don't want to give anything away, but I hope you guys will stick with us and give us a hand when needed. The GFG is our baby.

One of the mag's new features serves to recognize great members, and instead of doing it once a month, right now I'll just pick someone for each issue. So, for Issue #6..

    I choose DiruAngel76! :3

I'm not quite certain how long she has been a member, but she's a very nice one - that's for sure. She's probably got a post in every thread there is, and always seems very positive.

So, here's to you DiruAngel! Thanks for being a part of the GFG. <3

Now to wrap this up, I'd like you all to remember two things: 1) we have subforums! Post like a madman, get to know your fellow members, complain, pimp your quest, whatever you want! and 2) If you do not plan on ever being active in the guild, please quit or notify us if you just like to lurk.

That's all folks. Hope to see you around!

    SO - WHAT'S NEW?:
So far, 2007 has been graced with two store item updates: a Salon update, which brought us 5 new hairdo's, and The Elegant Set; which is scattered among H.R. Wesley, Durem Depot, The Gambino Hat Rack, Barton Jewelers, and Gambino Outfitters.

    January 2007:
User Image Rainy: I see this hairstyle and think this.

User Image Ringlets: Personally, I favor the Romantic hairstyle over ringlets.. I don't have a sophisticated reason for thinking so, I just don't like the bangs and the hair line looks receded.. I also don't think it looks very good with many head items. :

User Image Upsweep: Cute and classy! All of the color options are great, and the sideswept bangs are perfect. The only reason it's not my avatar's hair right now, is because I'm just not an up-do kind of girl. :]

User Image Bedhead: A very punky and fun hairstyle!

User Image French Braid: Not a big fan of this hair style.. it reminds me of a wet dog. X:

    March 2007:
    User Image User Image
While the Elegant set is no doubt beautiful.. and you know, elegant, it will put a major hurting in your pocket. The first outfit alone cost almost 228,000 gold! The benefit of the high price, however, is that it gives users something to quest for without worrying about inflation! Which is a great idea, but I will still cry at night with powdered wigs dancing around in my head.. always out of my reach. :[

    User Image User Image
Another positive to this heartbreak, though, is that they are unisex items! This gives everyone the wonderous option of showing off your thin, toned pixel legs, or going with the skirt - which paints a beautiful picture of your avatar's voluptuous booty.

And that's all she wrote, folks! Those are the new store items from January and March, but it's up to you to decide what you do and don't like. PEACE.

    LOOKING GOOD ON EMPTY POCKETS:
I had a lot of fun coming up with a couple spring-themed avatars, because I am an ace when it comes to working with a budget. I hope my creations aren't too out there, though - they are all very Zoo-esque and I know not everyone is suited to my taste. :] But hey! Let's take a look at my female outfit:
    User Image
The pastel color dreamcoat was the very first thing I dressed the avatar with, because it just screams Spring to me.. or maybe it screamed Easter, I don't know, but it screamed! After having a piece to base the avatar around, I picked a shirt I felt matched, and went with a skirt+jean combo to get more color in! I went with gold-colored shoes, and then it was all about picking accessories. I chose both the purse and the rose for their pink coloring, and added more green with the necklace. To top it all off, a pair of glasses and a hairpin for a bit more white.

But did I come in under budget?

    Item List:
    Anti-Fashion Green Anti-Accessory
    Anti-Fashion Technically Colored Dreamcoat (Pastel)
    Blue Medical Scrubs
Drop Dead Gorgeous Stone Skull Hairpin
    Flashion Rose
    Glasses
    Golden Slippers
    Jenny's Sweet Clamshell Purse
    Rough Blue Jeans
    White Nurse Skirt

    Estimated Total: 7,443 Gold

Not quite, but I only went 443 gold overboard! Don't let that fase you, though - if you dig this outfit, the marketplace will lend a big hand in helping you score these items for less gold!

I went in a bit of a different direction with the male counterpart. While to me, it is still very Spring-y, it goes about it in a more subtle way.. Instead of bright, or pastel colors, it is very earthy, with greens and browns.

    Ahhrr!! Fancy Vest
    Brown Work Gloves
    Cig
    Grass Stripe Sleeve Sweater
    Pale Green Rough Walking Shoe
    Retro Scholar Rawleather Pants
    Romani Glasses

    Estimated Total: 6,870 Gold

Woohoo, I left you with some gold to spare. :] You might need it, though, because there's a more expensive version of this avatar:

The additions are the Sacred Leaf (3,875 gold) and Gold Record Earrings (800 gold). Lastly, the Romani glasses are exchanged for Chairo Cache Shades (3,750 gold).

I hope you guys enjoyed this lesson on budgeting and color-coordination!

    YOU'VE GOT TO COLLECT THIS:
It's been a while since there has last been a donation item re-cap, but in this article, I am going to be giving you a heads-up on two 2007 items that I believe are worth buying! Or you know, questing for, if you're short on cash.

From January, the Gift of the Goddess: User Image
In the beginning of the year, the Goddess brought you thirteen (count 'em, 13!) different gifts all in one small package - there's an option for everything! It can be headwear, footwear, a necklace, a pair of wings.. I could go on, but I won't! But hey, just because it's a bargain doesn't mean it's worth buying, right? Wrong! (In this case, at least). Each Gift of the Goddess variation brings a big punch of color and creativity. I mean, what can't you do with four arms?

    User Image

Unfortunately, I can't seem to choose between March's Mythic Hair and Spirit Falcon. While neither are quite my style, they both have options I've seen other Gaian users carry out quite well.
User Image - I love the Mythic Hair's celestial-looking option. I've seen quite a few elegant avatars make use of the dark, curly tresses, and the moon beret among a string of stars. How romantic!

User Image - I love the Spirit Falcon option to have a big, broad set of grey feathers. It's really the only thing I like about this item, to be honest. People have always clamored for more wing options, and I'm sure these appease quite a few people.

I hope this short & sweet article has helped you make up your mind about a few monthly collectibles! I wish you harmony and balance in your tektek-ing future. ;]

BEING PRETTY THROUGH THE SEASONS - XShadowMistressX
Skin is in. Regardless of the current season, whether it's the harsh winter conditions that leave your skin dry and damaged, or spring when you're finally able to take off a few of those 5+ layers upon leaving the house - beautiful, healthy skin is always a desirable asset to any woman (or man, for that matter). So here are a few products that every woman should own for her to look her best underneath it all.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
    Jergen's Skin Smoothing lotion.
This product being the first pick may come as a surprise to some of you. It's not luxury cosmetics, and neither is the price, but this is by far the best lotion that has ever graced grocery store shelves. Simply put, it works. Risking sounding like a cliche, the name says it all. This lotion transforms dry cracked skin to soft and smooth literally overnight, and is definitely a beauty product must.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Lancome Aqua Fusion Lotion SPF.
This face moisturizer promotes healthy, as well as soft skin. First of all, it's a non-oil based lotion which is always a benefit to your skin. It's water-based as well which gives it a smoother texture in addition to being light-weight and comfortable. This lotion is available without SPF, but since Spring is here, the SPF lotion works as a great protection from the sun.
Aqua Fusion is available at most department stores including Macy's, Carson Pirie Scott, and Lord and Taylor. It may be quite a bit pricey at $37 at Macy's, but you can always wait for them to have a free gift event too.

    Lush Bath Bombs
    !
Apart from the fact that they've got an amazing name, bath bombs are fun, smell great, and are full of organic and natural ingredients to provide your body with essential oils that leave your skin feeling great. If you have never heard of Lush Bath Bombs before, they are basically a “...dynamic, a 21st century version of the polite, sophisticated early 20th century bath cube.” They dissolve in your bath and depending on the bomb you use, they can contain roses, petals, fruit, or leaves that float around the bath.
Lush Bath Bombs are available at www.lush.com and at specific stores listed on the website. Their prices range between $4-6.
