Note: In a normal scenario, Starlurk would need to propose how __penguin__ and herself would pay for the price of a referee.

In the 'Ref Tower' thread, a Trainee ref costs 25 points. So, let's say Starlurk offered to pay 20 points of the fee and 5 points of the fee would be __penguin__'s to pay.

She would need to report in the 'Ref Tower' that she needs a Trainee ref and that she will pay 20 of it, and __penguin__ will pay 5. They would then need to subtract that money from their accounts.

Deal!

Note: At this point, I would PM Starlurk telling her that a ref was assigned to her battle and then send that ref their way.

In this case, I assigned myself.

I read the 'Weekly Weather Forecast' in the Battle Arena subforum and the 'Campground' threads of both Starlurk and __penguin__. I also read the 'Attack Encyclopedia' to see what attacks do what damage.

It's 2:10 Wednesday morning. The Tamer Central forecast is 59 degrees with heavy rain.

I used the information present this intro...

The following battle will be between Starlurk and __penguin__.

The weather is 59 degrees with heavy rain.

__penguin__ has one pet in her troupe, a Level 1 pet named Pingi. Pingi is an Ice type. Its current attacks are Frostbite and Snowstorm.

Starlurk also has one pet in her troupe, a Level 1 pet named Nitzu. Nitzu is an Electric type. Its current attacks are Voltage and Shock Chamber.

All ref fees are paid and the battle can begin.

Starlurk can attack first, __penguin__ can follow.

(Note a couple of things about the following. One, I use the elements to improve the conductivity of an electric attack. The rain in the weather makes it more effective.)

Nitzu slowly gathers steam, developing a bolt of electricity seemingly from thin air.

Pingi steps back with apprehension, clearing the way for it to safely begin to engage the weather into a colder and colder rain. As it is developing the icy cold temperature, it is suddenly stricken bluntly by a thunderbolt, supercharged by the elements.

Pingi initially lays motionless, but slowly shakes off the hit. The weather finishes developing a sludgy ice that chills Nitzu.

Nitzu: 94%, freezing
Pingi: 72%

It is now __penguin__'s turn to attack first.

(Note: The turn changes every go-around. Also notice that, even though it says in the battle encyclopedia that a snowstorm attack does 5% damage, there is room for flexibility. It just needs to be somewhere in the area of that damage.

Also remember that Nitzu is freezing, meaning it will suffer around 5% damage each turn from now on unless the weather is changed by an attack.)

Nitzu! Trap Pingi in a Shock Chamber!
PostPosted: Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:35 pm

By the time the next set of commands came around, Pingi was in its element. Snow and wind was roaring around the battle zone.

The ice hardened Pingi's beak into a sword-like weapon and it began its awkward little penguin charge. Nitzu quickly sprung to action to meet its opponent, forming a chamber of energy and thrusting it forward to meet Pingi.

The electricity ensnared the small bird, but it continued, and collided with Nitzu, displaying a powerful stab that carried with it the raw energy that Nitzu had just released.

Nitzu was barely shaken by the electricity it had just encountered, but clearly overcome by pain due to the razor beak.

Pingi: 65%, shaking off the electricity
Nitzu: 63%, freezing

(Note: In this case, Pingi's momentum pushed forward the wall of electricity, so it is not affecting Pingi as much. Mitigating factors can nullify a lot of the damage of just about any attack. Be creative with your reffing.)
