When I was young, as soon as I found out what a horse was I fell in love and I needed to get closer to these animals. My mum enrolled me into riding camp and I loved every bit of it... except the riding xD I had/have a big fear or riding - not sure why. My brother joined one summer and then he decided to take lessons, so I followed behind him. We rode for probably 7ish years, english style at Dream Catcher Stables. It was a small school with roughly 10 horses.
As the years passed I learnt to walk, trot (posting diagonals and all that fun stuff) and canter.. As well as jump, the normal things.. Though I lacked confidence, still kind of do. I have fallen off 11.5 times XD and my brother.. well never he has a good seat. He sat some pretty stupid things too.
 Scarlet
I will show some pictures of some of the horses from my old barn before it was sold and the horses seperated... Sadly some of my favourites I didn't get pictures of... and even sadder - I haven't ridden since (3 years). But I will tell stories of the horses and funny things. :3

The horses from the barn <3 (Sorry for lack of pictures)
Me on Cuppy Cuppy Cupcake - I don't believe she was registered, but she was a Percheron/Hackney cross :3 She was a walking couch XD
"Jamming Jamaica" Jamaica - I don't think we knew what breed she was, we rescued her from the slaughter house. I never rode her cause I was too big and her back was too small. She was a speedy little bugger ^_^
Jimmy Jimmy - "Jimeny Cricket" He is our loving Appy who was lazy as hell but a sweet heart. He was so much fun to 'barrel race' on and he is the only horse I have hand-galloped on XD I didn't know I was at the time.
BinkyBuu Binky - "Federal Express" He was an ex Show Jumper TB... Sadly he passed away March 23 2007. I remember the first time I rode him I was shocked and thought he was going so fast... really he just took bigger strides. I had fun doing no stirrup work on him stare he thought trotting meant "LETS CANTER" XD Luckily he was smooth as a babys butt... XD
Scarlet and I Scarlet, my Friend, me and some camper Scarlet "Miss Scarlet" - TB .. She was the lead mare, and she had the attitude for it! She hated her girth area being touched, and nipped if you did up her girth... I eventually formed a bond with this horse and we called a truce we were a good team, until I fell off her and bruised my tailbone... x_X;; I couldn't ride her very well after that. She had the bounciest trot.. so much so that if you are supposed to be doing sitting trot you were yelled at for doing a posting trot XD
There was also;
Cash (My baby ;-; I didn't get any pictures of him) He was part TB, but you could tell he had some draft in him :3 he had a bit head and a thick neck... He was a beautiful Chesnut gelding, very handsome!
Willy - A draft cross, a big teddy bear though a bit of a clutse... I jumped the "big" 2 foot jump on him for the first time.. later to find out that it was his first time too xD He was part owned by a girl named Heather. He had troubles picking up the right lead while cantering.
Spoiler "Spoil me Rotten" - I believe she was a TB ... maybe a TB cross... She could be cranky at times, it was funny on a bad day if you nudged her to go she would turn around and glare at up at you XD My instructor kept putting me on her near the end of her life cause she was a challenge for me. Sadly she was stolen from the barn, managed to get free but on her way home was hit.. She was one of my brothers favourite horses.
Johnny "Johnny Be Good" - Our little sorrel QH, apparently his brother or dad was famous ^_^ He was such a funny little guy, whether he had a rider on him or not if he had an itch on his face he would bend around and itch his face with his hind leg <33 He was the cutest little guy ever I loved riding him. He was the first horse to die at the barn that I really remember, he was put down cause he had Colic.
Fargo - Bay Mare. She came to us as a western horse who was learning the english ways, my brother was always put on her at first which was funny cause he could practically reach the ground from her back. He hated her cause she wouldnt listen to his commands, she was too used to reining. I was later put on her and she became my challenge horse, no one else in my lesson got to ride her. We were an odd couple but I loved her to bits, she got sold though and is at the barn where my old instructor is.. But she can't be ridden heavily anymore or mildly due to a horse kicking and breaking her elbow.. She almost died, but I'm glad shes still alive :3
Tango (number 1) "It Takes Two to Tango" - Chesnut Mare. My brothers absolute favourite horse! She was the fastest horse in the barn <3 I rode her once at a camp for a speed thing and I won XD My brother and her were close, she became lame and got sent to a retirement barn.
Tango (number 2) - Sorrel Gelding. He was allergic to hay, never rode him but he followed me around the arena O_o While raking. He had a weird boxie face but he was cute in his own way.
... ;-; I dont remember XD there were too many horses that came and left ...

The fall-offs xD (I can still count on two hands so its good!!!)
Where it started: The first time I was riding was on Smokey... And I was nervous to begin with xD buuut it didn't help that somehow I managed to sit behind the saddle when I got on annnd Smokey had a sore rump/tailbone so he bucked me off and I landed on my feet.. It kinda went from there XD
1. I took a half a year or so off from riding because the fear was getting too much... But I finally got jealous cause my brother was always riding, so I joined back, and a week later I fell off for real.. for the first time xD... I was posting on Jimmy (The slowest laziest horse at the barn that spooked the most) ... My friends brother stuck his head through the gate suddenly and he was right infront of Jimmy, he shied to the side I rolled off the side.
(From here on they may not be in order)
2. I was trotting without stirrup on Cupcake... She is part Percheron so she is uber comfy and smooth in her gates.. Somehow I managed to bounce off her back. It not only confused the instructor, it also confused me XD
3. I was riding Scarlet, and I started to lose my stirrup while sitting trot to transition into a canter... (she is UBER bouncy xD) Sooo while cantering I was trying to fix it, but I lost it and fell off in the corner, kinda infront of her. Apparently it looked like she trampled my legs but she managed to get through them.
4. I was riding Cash and we had to do a 20 meter circle or w.e and there was a jump in the middle which we had to go over, then instead of completeing the circle you had to go the other way where there was another jump... After one attempt we just finished the circle, attempt two I went one way he went the other - I fell off and hit the sideboards and slid down them cutting my back. Attempt 3 I almost fell off and attempt 4 we got it XD
5. Fargo was a bit stubborn, but we had been doing good lately so I let my attention spand drift else where... and we went to do a 20 meter circle while cantering.. What does the little bugger do.. burry her forelegs under her stopping abruptly while in the middle. I fell off and my foot was stuck in the stirrup, she just looked back with a grin on her face. >_>
6. While riding Binky, well any horse, you must remember not to lean forward before the jump... We were cantering into a one stride and I leant forward a bit he slammed on the brakes and I jumped the jump for him. ... Yes fun. I did it gracefully -I just wanted to show him how it was done.
7. This was my last fall off I believe... I was up in the field where the mares generally go, because it doubles as our outdoor jumping arena course... we called it the "cross country field" XD anyways it was June so the ground was pretty dry and ouchies... and hard X_x;; It was my first time going over the 'chicken coop' and it was pretty high for me, Scarlet and I cleared it fine, but in order to avoid tripping over a guide pole for another jump she had to move quickly to the side, I lost my balance and fell off... I bruised or fractured my tailbone.. Zoe (my instructor) knew something was wrong because for once I didn't get up right away. It hurt like a b***h but I got back on her, I couldnt walk down the hill anyways, my legs were too shakey X_x;;
7.25 I was trotting without stirrups on Binky... and he decided "WHEE Let us canter!" Luckily he was smooth, so I headed for a wall and rammed him into it XD well not literally but he stopped and I was half on.. I sat for a moment and wondered if I should use effort and pull myself back on or just slide off.. so I let go and fell to the ground XD
7.5 I was trotting on Binky AGAIN without stirrups and the retard decides to go over the jump in the middle of the circle... Again terrible balance, so he ended cantering and I had to head him into a wall... then again I let go xD
That is all I remember X_x;; I think I fell off Scarlet acouple more times.. XD And Cash one more.
My count so far: 11.5

I am currently reading... (Yesh I have nothing else to ramble on about like horses lol so I ramble about what I read XD)
- "Dancing with your Dark Horse" - Chris Irwin - "How to think Like Your Horse" - Cherry Hill (I think thats the name) - "Horse Sense" - erm... some massage therapy horse book :3 (Havent really started yet)
So far I find Horse Sense is very well written, simple but very full of good information. It gives stories of people who have made simple mistakes, like going out and buying a horse on a whim... when they know nothing. Or a horse being drugged...
I lovelovelove How to think like Your Horse.. I like the way Cherry Hill explains things. She is amazing -nodnods-
Dancing with your Dark Horse... I am not sure about.. it is kind of getting annoying. I get this feeling that he is trying to be placed on a pedistol. I mean this is a line or two from it "I don't want to spell out my entire resume here, but I'm trying to make a point. After years of hard work and a long string of successes, I had achieved a position of significant leadership in the horse industry and, in some circles, beyond." (p4)
X_X;; I understand he wants people to think he knows what he is talking about and that he has lots of experience, but he isn't very modist about it. He makes himself seem like he's some God... "In some circles, beyond" (p4)
Man.., X_x;; Just. I unno, maybe its just me.. It could get better... Or maybe he is just FULL of himself..

I have also lately found out that if I were to go to Kemptville College (Canada) It would be better to own a horse, then to use one of theirs. I mean you can't ride when you want, only during your riding lesson... O_O And I am not sure if I can actually hand horses other than that or what...
>_><_< Then my friend was saying that she wasn't going there cause her horse isn't trained all the way and she is training him with Parelli and they said no... He would have to be trained their way or don't go there. And she is planning on going to Parelli University in Calorado for 27k O_o thats insane, I wouldn't bother doing that...
There are trainers that can teach you things better than Parelli for FREE. XD And yah its more personal.
Anyways, so I have no clue.. I was going to just Lease a horse then use one of theirs. Maybe I can lease a horse from my cousin or someone nearby... The only thing I would have to connect with it while I learnt at the university. I might even be able to lease a horse from someone who keeps their horse there? I might look into that.
