I have terrible confidence and balance when it comes to riding XD
Are there any exercises you know of that can help improve balance or confidence?
Mind you I have only ridden English... for roughly 7 years XD
-EDIT- oh knows X_x;;; I shoulda put this in advice/questions -runs around like mad trying to find a moderater-

Well, if you still lack confidence after 7 years of riding, I'd say you need a more broke horse.

Get a few lunge lessons. That way your instructor will be in control and you can work on your position and you can ask her/him to give you some exercise s to give you more confidence :3

It isn't terrible, I just was always on older horses that were either lazy or couldn't pick up the same lead in their back legs, ooor trippy horses O_O
I feel more confident, mainly cause I haven't ridden in 3 years and I just want to jump on a horse XD
Thanks D

for balance, i would do something that would build it. like ... i have roller skated for 7 years. that really helped my balance with horses.

Riding bareback is wonderful for balance. And it's perfectly fine to just walk at first until you feel confident enough to go faster. Or you could ride without stirrups.
