Random Message #1

I didn't mention this in the Rules, and I don't really think I need to add it, but just so everyone knows: language in the guild is rated PG-13 (for courtesy purposes more than anything), except for the actual RPG In-Story Thread, which is rated "whatever happens, happens." What I mean by this is, don't start dropping "F" bombs and eviscerating enemies just because you can, but if it's in-character for your character to perform R-rated activities, we're not going to stop you. Just don't start having wild, explicitly detailed sex in our pages, please. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we really don't care how much action Billy the Wood Elf is getting. sweatdrop

So, yes. Thought I'd clear that up before we get things going.

Random Message #83

Argh... sorry. I'm something of a "n00b" (as the kids say) when it comes to all the nuances of the RPG world. Never run one of my own before, you see. Anyway, just so everyone knows:

The RPG is beginning in late afternoon, probably about 4pm or so, and since it's September that means that the sun is on its downward descent.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion, and if there's something else I don't think to specify, please let me know.

Also, I added this information to the "Character Profile Template," but since I don't imagine anyone's going to go there randomly, I'll post it here, too:

Characters who are Demon Slayers or members of the Inquisition will not have their occupation posted on the Profile Page, because if the public knew who was a part of those (top secret) organizations, then demons/witches/heretics would be going out of their way to find and kill these people. Their occupation/rank will either be omitted entirely, or replaced by the job they perform when they're not off doing Church-work. So in other words: You don't know whooooo's gonna jump out of an ally wielding a ninja star! {Insert Sneaky Laugh Here}

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

(1) Just so everyone knows, 'Cia and I are hoping to end the night fairly soon, so please don't start up a new, in-depth 'night time' storyline just yet. That doesn't mean you need to rush through the storyline you're currently in, of course.

Also, so everyone knows, since the majority of the characters (and almost all shady activities) function at night, the 'day time' will probably go a lot faster than we've been taking the time periods thus far. Again, this doesn't mean you need to rush RPing or skip out on Important Conversations and Meetings, but if you do need a lot of time, just let 'Cia and I know in advance so we don't try to speed things along too much. And, as always, if any of this sounds like a PIA to anyone, please PM me and let me know.

(2) On a related note, I figured I'd let everyone know how the RPG timeline is going to work for a bit. First of all, 'today' is Wednesday in the world of Lux Nova. I decided that recently. sweatdrop So, yes. What we're going to do is go through Thursday and Friday (the night The Ishmaels open at the Cherubim, actually), then fast forward two weeks and start introducing some plotline events. 'Cia and I plan to fill in the time gap with some Weekly articles. If there's something your character will be doing in that time that might make the papers, let us know. 3nodding

So, pretty much just keep that in mind as you're RPing, and if you think this is going to be an enormous problem let us know and we'll do our best to fix it.

(3) Calling All Villains! The world of Lux Nova, though filled with some pretty awesome characters, is sadly lacking in the "I'm a huge a*****e, mwahahaha!" department. And, unfortunately, that's making it kinda tricky for 'Cia and I to create upcoming conflicts between characters, cause there's no one to conflict with (unless everyone wants us to make a bunch of new NPCs... which I don't think anyone, including us, wants sweatdrop ). So! If you can and want to make another character, and have a good idea for a villain, either a menacing Inquisitor, a 'demon' out to eliminate all humans, or just some nutso on the street, please PM us with a profile and we can start working out all the nefarious details.

Oh, and if you're wary about creating a Church person because you don't really feel like you understand the 'inner workings' of the system, don't worry: 'Cia and I will fill you in on all the nasty details, as well as answer any questions you might have.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: FINISHING THE ENDLESS NIGHT

Okay, so we really need to get this night over with and move on to the next morning. I really don’t want to rush anyone, but if you’re nowhere near the end of your current storyline, then you might want to think about trying to wrap it up as best you can. Most of the arcs are at a point where we could conclude the evening fairly quickly, but there are a few that still need to get a lot done.

Below is a list of the story arcs. The brighter red your name is, the more (it seems to me) you have to write before the night is over (that steely-red color is the middle color, meaning you're close to the end but still have a couple of things you gotta do first). If your character’s name isn’t even on the list, then that means you’re pretty much just down for the night and waiting until morning anyway, so there wasn’t any need to mention it. Next to the character names is a suggestion on my part for what all you might want to do before you “close up for the night.” They’re just suggestions, of course, so feel free to ignore them. 3nodding

Victor Wollstonecraft, Amaranta, Eva and Alika – fast-forward through dinner and head home for the night. We really can’t do much plot-moving with these guys anyway since ‘Cia is subbing in for Pyro.

Ivan and Fifi (Josephina) – Smoke your cigs, either discuss or ignore the play tickets on Ivan’s bedside and say “good night” (V’s been really good about posting promptly, so I’m not too worried about this one dragging out if we let it go a few more posts)

Nicolae Alexander and Brendan – Chat (quickly, please) with Bren’s mom and Lexi (I’ll go ahead and play Lexi for you), then have Bren walk Nico home.

Raven, Kachiki (Starling), Isra, and Peder – This one’s pretty much wrapped up, so probably everyone just needs to say their “good nights” (or “good mornings” in Raven’s case) and head back to wherever it is they wanna go. Raven’s place is open to anyone who wants to crash there. 3nodding

Fenrir and Zenith – Go ahead and have your epic battle, since we’ve all been WAITING SO DAMN LONG FOR IT. xp Aw, you guys know I’m just kidding. I know you’ve been swamped with the move, Xander, so if you want we can jump everyone else to morning, let you guys stay in the nighttime and finish up, and then you two can just catch up with us later. Let me know if that’s a problem for either of you. (And now that I think about it, we could do the same thing for Bren and Nico if you two are up for it)

Dakini, Tainn, Arrow and the squad of NPCs that make up The Ishmaels theatre troupe – You could probably just say “good night” and head to bed, since ‘Cia was nice enough to abridge the packing expedition.

Lao and Swift – Once Lao finishes up his reading, you might want to go ahead and go to sleep. Back-story time can happen tomorrow on the long walk to New Boston. 3nodding Also, Yasu, if we wanna do this *really* fast, we could arrange a night sometime to just get online together and do a big joint-post between the two of them. Let me know if that sounds like a plan to you (aaaah, it’s been so long since we’ve written a good ol’ fashioned joint-post! blaugh )
