any cafe should have yummy treats out for the buying public.
i love to cook and have many recipes but will start with my easiest one, so easy i teach grade school kids to do it!
just have somebody older take the hot pan out of the oven.

kids-can-do-it PB cookies
preheat oven to 350
smoosh together 1 cup crunchy PB 1 cup sugar and 1 egg with a drop or 2 of vanilla.
drop onto baking pan with a tablespoon; press flat with a fork, making a checkerboard pattern #
have an older person put the pan in the oven
wait 10 minutes and have that older person take the pan out
let it cool for 2 minutes, scrape off the cookies, and enjoy!

say, isn't this the Egg Salad Polling Guild?
well all righty then!
take 8 hard boiled eggs
cool them under cold water before peeling, it makes the process easier
and 1/2 cup or more of good mayo (i like Hellman's)
1 heaping tsp of horseradish
1/4 tsp tabasco
1/4 tsp kosher salt
two diced celery stalks
mix and taste; if you want, this would be the time to add garlic powder or a little more salt
chill
serve with rye bread or melba rounds

This goes right along with chessiejo's kids-can-do-it PB cookies .... my kids and all the nieces and nephews love this one, they really go crazy sometimes and the cookies are not just plain simple drop cookies.... lol
NO BAKE CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES
2 cups granulated sugar 1/2 cup evaporated milk 2 tablespoons cocoa 4 ounces butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup chopped pecans 2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and chopped nuts. Add oatmeal and stir to blend thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Makes about 4 dozen no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.

Worms.
kids love it when they think they're eating something gross!
boil some spaghetti; the fat old fashioned kind are best, not vermicelli or angel hair.
drain, then let the kids drizzle with olive oil, shake on garlic powder, parmesan, and oregano to taste.
put it in a big bowl and let them grab out the wiggly worms!

Greek Pizza
Ingredients:
Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix dried onion flakes garlic salt dried oregano dried mint olive oil minced garlic diced sweet onion marinated artichoke hearts black olives diced tomato crumbled feta shredded mozzarella
Directions:
Prepare hot roll mix as directed on package for pizza crust, except add dried onion, garlic salt, oregano, and mint into the mix. Spread olive oil lightly over crust in pan; sprinkle minced garlic over top. Top with diced onion, artichoke hearts, black olives, tomato, feta, and lastly mozzarella. Bake as directed.
I only had a 14" pizza pan and it made a super thick crust. If you prefer thin crust, the box says to use 2 12" pans instead. Don't ask for amounts on anything. I just sprinkled it all on. There should be enough spices in the crust mix, though, so that it's very obviously visible. Also, you can cheat and use McCormick Greek Seasoning (which has the onion, garlic, oregano, and mint).

we had our Independence Day picnic a day early because of the unfavorable weather forecasts.
i boiled an optomistic number of eggs, and so had plenty left for eggsperimentation this morning.
we had creamed eggs on toast.
chop up the boiled eggs, heap them on hot toast (i like multigrain) then make a nice white sauce, with flour, milk, butter and salt i added real cream, some fresh ground pepper, four dots of tabasco, and shreds of provolone.
stir the sauce on medium until thick and bubbly.
pour over the eggy toast and enjoy!

Mix 14 oz of sweetened condensed milk, 8 oz of cream cheese, a tablespoon of vanilla and 1/2 cup of lemon juice in a blender until it's smooth.
Then pour the mixture into a graham cracker pie crust. Use the cover the crust came in as a lid to cover the cheesecake and let it sit in the fridge for two hours.

Use the cover the crust came in as a lid to cover the cheesecake and let it sit in the fridge for two hours. mmm, i simply must try that! here's a shelless taco salad (most of the calories and carbs are in the shell) brown one pund of ground beef with chopped onions and minced garlic (2 cloves) until no pink appears; salt modestly. nuke one can of fat-free refried beans (frijoles refritos); i found these at a discount store, so i'm sure you can too. season the beans with eight dots of tabasco (or jalapeno sauce), sprinkle in some oregano and cumin. on a large plate or platter, make a ring of beans about halfway from center to rim, leaving open spa ce on each side. around the outside of this ring, pile the grilled beef (it doesn't matter if it has turned cold by now). in the middle, ladle most of a large jar of salsa. over the top (save a little bit back for later), sprinkle lots of shredded mexican or taco-style (with asada) cheese. nuke on pizza setting until the cheese melts. splash a little more salsa over all, artistically, place fresh greens around the edge, and serve.

This is the simplest recipe I know. I found it online, and I'm gonna try it when I go home next weekend. Here it is:
Agurku (Cucumbers and Honey) Slice some fresh cucumbers, and dip them in a little dish of pure honey.
And that's it. Another one I'm gonna try next weekend:
Saltanosiai (Cold Noses) (The first S should have a birdie (^ upside down) over it, making it sound as if you're saying "sh" instead of "ess;" the word is pronounced as Shal-tah-no-si-ay) Ingredients: 2 cups flour 2 whole eggs 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup sour cream 1 cup fresh blueberries or blueberry preserves pinch of salt
- make dough using flour, eggs and water. On a floured surface roll out the dough thinly, to about 1/8 in. thickness - if using fresh blueberries, mix with sugar. If using preserves, remove some of their liquid. - put a teaspoonful of berries on the dough, spaced evenly, fold dough over and press with round cookie cutter or use a medium size glass to cut the dumpplings. - press the dumppling sides together so that the berries do not leak out - repeat until all dough and berries are used up. - bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, and drop the dumpplings gently, stirring lightly. - the dumpplings are done in 5 to 8 mins. of gentle boiling. - using a strainer remove the dumpplings into a serving dish, cover with dollops of sour cream and sprinkle with sugar.
The Bluenoses are also eaten cold, then they are placed on a serving dish so that they do not touch each other. They are also eaten with sour cream and sugar.
Both of them are supposedly traditional Lithuanian foods. My mom hadn't heard of the Saltinosiai, but her Polish friend did the cucumbers in honey thing.

I've heard of the blueberry dumplings before, but I didn't know what they were called or where they came from. It sounds delicious!

I think they're just from that area of Europe in general. My mom was saying how she had them in Poland when she was younger (just not with blueberries and with a different name).
And we actually didn't get to try them, because we were doing stuff most of the day and/or just got sidetracked a lot.
Plus, blueberries are out of season and they only had sugar-free preserves.

spicy salsa pizza: okay technically this is more of a cheat pizza but still tastes great we had it with a mexican themed dinner and at a food sale we did it was VERY popular so enjoy! get some naan breads cut them into pizza sizes if the naan breads are large, and spread salsa (homemade or bought) on top, then either and some chilli powder (as much as you like but i like lots) or mix it (or tabasco)into the salsa sauce before spreading, then sprinkle grated cheese on top of this. You can also add any other ingrediants you like for example meat ie. cooked chorizo (if you eat meat) and/or vegetables olives, onions, tomatoes etc. Just add what you like to create your ideal spicy pizza!

p.s. stupid me i forgot to say put them in the oven for around 10/15 mins just treat it similar to cheese on toast (i have never burnt this but there's a 1st time for everything and it tastes nicer not burnt!!
