I check my bellguard after every touch. It's a bloody robotic response now that I have to do. In competitions I also start fixing my uniform, like stretching the knickers a bit down because I feel it's too tight sweatdrop
Now you

I used to kind of wiggle my sword, but it kept on being called attack in prep so I had to teach myself to stop. Then started winning more. xp

I've been known to sort of give my sword a little shake after every touche to make sure my grip isn't coming loose and when i'm really nervous, i'll take my mask off to wipe off any sweat and push my hair back to make sure its is out of my way about every 2 or 3 touches or so (whether I score them or not). Though of course, I really only get like this for the final bout of any tournament and pretty much most non-pool bouts in qualifiers and national stuff. xp

I start fiddling with my blade and bending it around after every touch. Sometimes I clench my trailing fist into a sort of "rock on" sign when I lunge. I keep readjusting my mask cord if I'm super nervous.

mine is actually really bad, when i am on the strip no one can see it because of my mask, and i dont notice it till its too late, but i open my mouth, and my touge lolls out a little so that when we actually fight i bite my tongue. I have acually come out of several bouts with my mouth full of blood

I noticed that I've started snapping three times when I start messing up real bad. I guess I'm trying to "wake up." I'm also looking at the machine after every touch (or every time I think there should've been a touch).

mines pretty unusual. its a habit that just gets me into focus. when i go back to my en guarde line, i put my front foot on the line, kick my back heel into my front and bounce it off to where i put my trailing foot, then sink down into my en guarde while breathing out. helps put me back in the zone.

I do the exact same thing! I can't explain it either. Opponents are just thrilled after the bout when we have to shake hands, aren't they?
