A post in the Magic The Gathering thread inspired me to create this thread..

Anyone ever play Yu-Gi-Oh?

I used to, though all of my cards are way outdated.

What were your strategies in gameplay?

Mine was more or less to creep the heck out of my opponents using mindgames and try to get them to screw up or play an important card prematurely. My favorite card was probably Ominous Fortunetelling, a continuous Trap card that so long as it remains face up on your side of the field, during your standby phase, you get to pick a card at random from your opponent's hand and guess if it's a Magic, Trap or Monster. If you guess right, you deal them 700 Life Point Direct Damage. I was almost always accurate with that card. Combine that kind of accuracy with my mindgames and I'd usually have one creeped out opponent.

Sometimes I'd accurately guess that they had a good hand and I'd coax them into attacking my facedown monsters....Then they'd find out that I either had a useful trap/magic card or a flip effect monster on the field. xd

I've only dueled against my sister and cousin. xD

But i used to play a useless trap card so they wouldn't attack my monsters It's a fun yet fustrating game!

Yes I use to play it a lot but now for some reason I cant recall I only have a handful of cards left.

Oh and for the people that like ominious fortune telling, use it with the eye of truth, which lets you loo kat your opponents had at all times, downside of eye of turth is thatfor every magic card he owns he gets 1000 LP. Luckily I found a card though that reverses the effects of LP gaining and makes the person lose LP instead. Those 3 cards means either 700 or 1700 lp lost every turn by effects

i Rembember playing the game i played a lot of card games in highschool sucks becuase i spent to much money on card games but not on yu gi oh yugioh i was actually luck at getting cards and i got all those cards people wanted at the time ...hehehe my stargety? to remove my olppennet cards out of play or rush him it was fun but there was not to much actaul stargety toward the game and i found DBZ CCG and DBGT TCG to be a lot more challenging and fun but when i look back at it, its probably becuase the people at the tounreys at DBZ/DBGT where fun people !! unlike peopl;e at yugioh they were all like buisness and a buch of jerks really i swear ....same with naruto ....oh well

i never really dueled....i justed liked collecting them

when i did play i usually lost anyway
