Today was the Solo Ensemble Festival...
And... long story short, my flute quartet playing The Entertainer by Scott Joplin got a superior rating!
That's like... the highest you can get besides superior C.P which is like... UBER SUPERIOR! (Iunno what the C.P. stood for. I forgot...)
Yeah, we were all nervous, and we all messed up a few times. Nothing too bad. Just squeaking and finger spasms. xD The judge didn't say anything about my part(which is good I suppose) but she did fix the other people's parts. She loved it though.
I couldn't stop smiling after we finished. Seriously. I don't know why. I was all 'Why am I SMILING?! I thought I was nervous!' I exploded with joy after I saw the rating.
Great, great experience. No more practices. Ever again. Hopefully... Iunno...
I love playing with my quartet though. I'm sure they dread it though...
EDIT: Maybe one day I'll upload the video to YouTube so you all can see how it was. One day one day...

Homigod, I went to an Solo and Ensemble festival too xD
That was a while ago though... and C.P. stood for 'Command Performance' I think, and you had to play for an audience.
I was in a clarinet trio, and we played The Easy Winners by Scott Joplin as well. We only got Excellent because the judge wanted the melody to play out more (me >.>).

Command Performance! That's what it was! YAH!
Play for a judge, and you teacher(most likely), and family and friends, and maybe a few strangers who are curious. But my teacher made them leave because they were making us nervous. xDD
I actually thought we weren't going to be able to do it, since one of my members wouldn't cooperate and come to practices. We had to get the teacher involved and knock some sense into her. But she still didn't change. We were still having problems with her on the day before the festival. It was torture for me, being the leader. D:

My parents recorded a video of us (the Clarinet Quartet) but I'd rather you not see it.
We got a Sup, but I pretty much sucked the most. Even the judge said so. D:

solo and ensembles are funfun.
except when all of your group has to randomly go out of town and they don't find out until like the day before.
i've done string quartets and a cello duet, both superior.
