So, i really want to drop about 10-15 pounds by the summer. Actually, i believe my weight is healthy, but id like to lose about 3 inches of fat off my stomach and waist. I have a really large potbelly, even though my bust, hips, and thighs are all an okay size.
I have 2 and a half months, so i think i can do it if i stay focused. Is it possible to lose 3 inches of fat or 15 pounds in 2.5 months?
The problem is, i have tried dieting before and i always give in to cravings! Then, i basically give up. So, i need your help with 2 things.
a) How to fend off cravings! I really need help limiting my cravings for snacks and sticking to my diet. My problem is in willpower, i always talk myself into giving up.
b) How to lose the fat from my stomach! Any tips for excersizes or moves to remove the fat from my belly would be much appreciated.
A bit about how i eat: I like to eat things like taco shells and toast to snack, but im really not picky. Im pretty much a compulsive snacker.
My current excersize habits: I swim for 1 hour 3 times a week.

Snacking has always been a problem for me, but all I get from people is to eat healthy snacks. Which is a problem for me because I don't like fruit and I'm only starting to like some types of veggies. So if your going to snack, eat things that will help your body and add to the food groups that you need everyday instead if eating things that might not help you.
Most of the time I'm board so if I go out somewhere and something with my friends or read my book. I can usually escape the cravings for a little while longer.

I always drink veggie juice, water, or diet tea when I get cravings. It helps keep them off for a few hours, long enough to wait for a meal. XD I used to get horrible cravings in the middle of the night, but usually curb those off with water(my health teacher claims it works wonders).
According to several other posters, crunches seem to be the best bet for belly fat.

Ill drink a mug of green tea when i feel cravings, because then instead of snacking ill give my metabolism a boost and feel proud of myself XD. I really do more of the 'small snacks throughout the day' thing. I take a container of cereal to school with me, i eat half on the bus and half during my period 2 class. Then i eat lunch at school, come home and have a snack. I make my own dinner 4 days of the week, so i eat something small. Then i have another snack at around 7 after ive gone swimming.

Wow... I feel like I could have written that XP
I feel like I'm at a healthy weight range too, but my stomach sticks out quite a bit ><;; My stomach doesn't match the small size of my jeans x.O;
And I have about the same weight goal as you.
And I've tried dieting before as well, and cravings are my worst enemy. I'll do fine until I give in to cravings, and just binge away.
Annd I go swimming about 3 times a week too, sometimes more XD;;
I love toast and tacos too, I have this addiction to toast though. It's worse than how addicted chips and hamburgers would ever make me.
Since I'm in nearly the same position as you, I can't really give any good advice cause I can't even control myself .__.;

People keep saying i ahouldnt try to loose weight if i am in the healthy weight range. But BMI is not an exact science, and my frame is too small for the weight ive put on.

Try playing DDR. It's best when it comes to loosing weight. I did it. I don;t know how to help you with cravings. I have lots of them too. i end up binge eating and feeling ashamed.I'm trying the Special K Diet.

When I crave stuff I normally promise myself that I will get it at a later date if I reach a certain goal. I call it a rewards day...
Like... I love green peanuts but they don't really mesh well with my diet so I say to myself... "If I meet my week goal of losing 5lbs I'll get some peanuts on Saturday!"
This gives you something to look forward to. But don't over do it on the rewards have the correct serving and then put your treat back up until your next rewards day. mrgreen
