You must have an account at the Leaf of Lorien for this
http://www.leafoflorien.proboards45.com/
You may either have your race choosen here or at Leaf of Lorien. Either way will be the same. And not everyone can be an elf, I'm sorry.
~Elves~
~Men (good)~
~Men (evil)~
~Dwarves~
~Hobbits~
~Wizards/Maia~
~Orc~
~Valar~
~Wraith~
~Ent~

If you are unhappy with your race, PM me or iRusco with a good argument as to why it should be changed.

Fill out and post: (And please don't answer the questions in a way that is sure to get you the race you want. Answer them honestly. Thank you!)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
First off, give your Leaf of Lorien username, can't go any further without this.

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why?

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why?

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? (please note a "weapon" can be anything, sword, bow, strategy, wisdom, magic, if it's used in LotR, you name it, it works)

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite?

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why?

6. The least? And why?

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why?

8. Why do you like LotR?
-------------------------------------------------------------

If I were you I would use spelling and grammer, it tends to look better.
No you can't be Legolas, be original.

Nessa Elendil

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why?

I would fight for freedom. A life is not worth living if you must be told how to live it.

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why?

I would live in Rivendell (before [nearly] all the Elves sail), or Minas Tirith (after the crowning of King Elessar), or Gondolin (before the city fell). These places, and all in Middle-earth that stand for freedom and rightousness, are places a life can be lived without the feeling of fear or evil dwelling along side of one.

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? (please note a "weapon" can be anything, sword, bow, strategy, wisdom, magic, if it's used in LotR, you name it, it works)

My weapon of choice would be a sword. I have always prefered dealing with anyone, especially an enemy, upclose and personal. I would also use wisdom and strategy, use the enemy's strengths and weakness against him/er.

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite?

While I love all of Tolkien's characters, my favorite is Frodo Baggins. Even though he is not the real hero of LotR, there are very few who could carry the Ring for so long and keep their own will for as long as he did.

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why?

I like that I'm a writer. I can (usually and hopefully, lol) think through a piece of writing and evoke in the reader the emotion of the story. Because I am a writer I can also see details, usually in people (like their emotion or true thought at the time), that other people tend to miss.

6. The least? And why?

Because I'm a writer and observe different situations to see the reaction of different personalities in the situations, I tend to be pretty... extremely (to a point) anti-social, and am not entirely certain that I can function in society, which I don't really like anyways.

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why?

I would be an Elf. Elves hold much of the wisdom of Middle-earth, a mental aspect that has always fasinated me, and can kick some serious butt in battle. (lol)

8. Why do you like LotR?

I love LotR. It provides an escape from the world today and helps me to dwell on my own thoughts without being influenced by modern times. The true meaning of LotR was beautifully captured by (as far as I'm concerned) the world's greatest author, and is different, can be interpreted differently, for every person.

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why?

freedom, everything should be free.

no kings or anything.

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why?

i would like swanfleet, the reedlands near the sea south of dunland, now abandoned

the Swanfleet or Sindarin Nîn-in-Eilph is a marshy area in Eriador.

Formed where the Glanduin (mistakenly labelled as "Swanfleet river" on some maps) joins the Gwathlo (Greyflood), the Swanfleet is effectively an inland delta, with uncertain streams and a very uncertain difference between land and water.

It strongly resembles the Gladden Fields on the other side of Hithaeglir, and as such many Stoors felt right at home here after their migration into Eriador. These Stoors remained here until the Great Plague nearly wiped them out, and the remainder then went to the South Farthing of the Shire.

Near the Swanfleet was a ford over the Glanduin, from where led a road to the ruins of Ost-in-Edhil, the ruined city of Eregion.

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? (please note a "weapon" can be anything, sword, bow, strategy, wisdom, magic, if it's used in LotR, you name it, it works)

spells and charms; also a knife!

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite? Celeborn keeps his own counsel and is not drawn in to the emotion of the moment, unlike all the characters around him.

Radaghast the Brown cares for animals and removes himself from the drama of the age also.

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why?

i am hard to fool, i can see through people and their pretenses.

6. The least? And why?

i can be too aloof and sarcastic

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why?

i can't say.

maybe...
the Laiquendi or Green Elves: they were descended from the Nandor, which had split from the Great Journey before the Hithaeglir (Misty Mountains), and gone south along the Great River (Anduin). A part of them, under Denethor son of Dan, crossed the Blue Mountains eventually, and settled in Ossiriand, or as it was later known Lindon (land of the singers). They remained a people apart for long, although many of them removed to Thingol's realm after Denethor was killed.

8. Why do you like LotR?

i like the rich depth of detail: history, geography, music, myth, sociology, it is a complete world

9. How did you find this site? If it was another member, please say who.

he calls himslef Elrond Peredhel on Gaia.

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why?

It really depends. If the freedom would ultimately kill everyone I know and love (like a violent rebellion with violent leaders) I would fight for the dominion. If the domination of Middle-Earth would kill my family and all the I hold near and dear, I'll be in the resistance. It is all situational in my opinion.

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why?

I would most likely live in Rohan, because of my natural love and affinity with animals -especially horses and dogs. I would love to work among fine animals and train them for those who will use them to fight with the king. The open fields appeal to me, so quiet, serene, but near enough to get the supplies I would need.

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? (please note a "weapon" can be anything, sword, bow, strategy, wisdom, magic, if it's used in LotR, you name it, it works)

My weapon would be a bow. It is percise, quiet, and fatal. I wouldn't be one in the armies that just shoot strait up and hopes it hits someone. I would be one of the deadly snipers, because I am patient, smart, calculating, and I can help without being on the front lines. I am not cut out for hand to hand combat that a sword and axe would require to wield. I don't pretend to be wise, and to wield magic one needs wisdom. I am poor at stategy, and would rather let some one who knows what they are doing direct me.

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite?

My favorite character has to be Aragorn. He was a true leader, and was someone everyone can look up to. He was the pillar of strenght, unity, and power of the human race.

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why?

My favorite characteristic is split between my intense love of all animals and my ability to analyze people. My love of animals keeps me sane, and gives me a purpose. It fills me with intense joy to show and share my love and amazment with other people. My ability to analyze people comes in handy all the time. I use it to kind of know what to do around people. I can read body language, slight tone changes, and how they effect a person.

6. The least? And why?

I hate feeling like the only person who knows me. I am far too aloof with my personal feelings. I have a very out-going personality, but keep people at an arm's lenght plus because of past experiences. I feel like no one really knows the real me.

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why?

I would say a good human, because I am a plain Jane who likes vanilla, and gets the most pleasure out of the little things. I would be good, because of I cannot tolerate the torment of people. I am far too soft-hearted for my own good. I am just a regular person.

8. Why do you like LotR?

LotR is the real deal. It is a complete universe with a complete set of history, languages, customs, a perfect escape from our ever changing life. It is a way that I can relate to the things I know and think about. It is a way to be who I am, for a little while. The story telling is phenominal, and I don't know why more people don't like it.

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why?

Freedom. Any being on this Earth has their right to make their own choices. Whatever force daring enough to oppress it will be met with valiant resistance.

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why?

The Shire for comfort, Rivendell for learning, and Minas Tirith for activity. From those three it's hard to choose.

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? (please note a "weapon" can be anything, sword, bow, strategy, wisdom, magic, if it's used in LotR, you name it, it works)

I am an intense strategizer, I will read and predict actions and reactions in everything from battle to politics. I will usually come up with clever solutions to tricky problems, but not always.

I prefer to rely on a sword for close range, and magic for long range. However, most of my magic skills would be for healing, rather than offense.

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite?

Very difficult question...Pippin for his personality, Faramir for his valour, and Eowyn for her strength and determination, Gandalf for his wisdom. Otherwise, I don't think I would pick a favourite!

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why?

My ability to get along with nearly everyone; allowing me to make many friends and allies, and gather information easily.

6. The least? And why?

My physical strength. If I did not fear for my body's brute stamina, I would be less wary of battle, or of any other life challenges.

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why?

I'm not really sure... sweatdrop

8. Why do you like LotR?

Throughout most of his life, Tolkien endeavored to create an astounding work of fiction, and he did so. But in turn, his story created a complete and dynamic world. Not in the physical aspect, but in the minds of millions, Middle Earth comes alive, and each reader has their own part in this world. I greatly enjoy and respect J.R.R. Tolkien for his creative vision that is Lord of The Rings.

Thank you. 3nodding

I spoke to iRusco about membership on Leaf of Lorien, and she agreed to allow me to join this guild without joining the other. I would like to be in both, but I know that my attendance and participation would be far greater in the Gaia guild.

Alright, if you ever do feel you have the time to join Leaf you don't have to bother with the race thread there. Just tell her Carmelor sorted you as an Elf on Gaia.

1. If you were fighting for Middle-earth, would you be fighting for its freedom or dominion? Why? Freedom. That's what I love to do. Well....not exactly. I love traveling, and if it were all under the dark rule, then I would go mento...

2. Where in Middle-earth would you most like to live? Why? Any of the great forests. Lothlorien, Mirkwood, Fangorn, etc etc. Or, in the valley of Rivendell.

3. What would be your choice weapon for a battle in Middle-earth? Why? Bow and wit.

4. Who in LotR is your favorite character and what qualities make him/er your favorite? Hmm...I would have to say.....Aragorn. He was such a loyal friend and fighter. i would love to have someone like him by my side when i needed him. I also liked Sam for his Steadfastness, Arwen for her devotion, and Bilbo for his goodnatured innocence. I don't think I could really choose that much, but Aragorn is inspiring to me.

5. What characteristic you like best about yourself? Why? My humor. Need I say more? Oh...I do? Oh...okay then...I guess I like it since it can help clear the mood. Like when I'm with two of my own friends that hate each other, I can make them have at least a bit of fun.

6. The least? And why? My....laziness. Or well, weak mind set. I'm not exactly lazy, just can get myself to work. I hate the fact that during the summer, I get really lazy cause I can't bring myself to run every single day.

7. Which race of Middle-earth would you be if you could choose? Why? I would want to be a Ranger. That's not a race....yeah, but they travel. Aragorn's race. Jeez...I can't remember the exact name. Duradain?

8. Why do you like LotR? Tolkien was an extremely talented artist. He created worlds with such simple words. It fascinated me. The elves, the humans, the dark side. No one was really perfect. Gandalf wanted power [albeit for a greater good], Legolas doubted mankind, Pippin...what can I say. He's Pippin. The talk of the forest made my heart ache. I wanted so much to go there. To just sit there. Whew...I'm getting nostalgic just thinking like this.

How was that?
