I recently saw many news reports and movies on the crisis of global warming, the earth is warming up at an unatural rate and soon The was no white christmas last year, for people that actually have snow but now there are alot schools closing down because of snow. The earths weather cycle is starting to change for the worse, we're having partially warm weather in the winter and more snow lately. There's even bee a rumor spread around about everyone's going to die in fifty years if we don't do anythin about it now. I posted this to see what other people's opinions on global warming. Discuss: Global Warming An inconvenient Truth What are you doing about it? Anything related
Oh that reminds me, how many of you have seen the movie An Inconvenient Truth

You might have heard this, but it's still true--the comparatively calm, mild weather we've experienced for the past few hundred years is actually the aberration. The volatile, sometimes unpredictable weather, like violent hurricanes, has, through history, actually been the norm.
In recent human history, the planet went through a warming period of the same expected proportions around 900 A.D. /C.E., which lasted for a few centuries until it was replaced by the affectionately-named "Little Ice Age" of History Channel documentary fame. During that period of global warming, Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia actually flourished thanks to the new warm weather and prolonged growing seasons.
Of course, what was true in the Middle Ages won't be true now. When it comes to whether or not the recent global warming will have good or bad effects, the jury is still out. Probably, both will be true.
Scientists have also proposed that our same global warming will also cause another Ice Age.
In my opinion, the rumors are exactly that--rumors. I try to take the fear mongers with a hefty grain of good kosher salt. I believe that there is global warming, but I don't think humans are as much to blame as some would have us believe. Many, actually credible, scientists are, at the same time, saying that the other planets in the solar system are warming. Are we too to blame for the increased air conditioning charges on Saturn?
Don't get me wrong. I think that taking care of the natural environment is extremely important. Being a lover of capitalism, it's also quite economical on an individual basis. At my house, we don't have the new toilets that use less water to flush, so I put a brick in all of them to save water, and money on the bill. Less electricity--less burned coal, and less spent money, too.
Regardless of the severity, and man's involvement, I think that however inconvenient this truth, the surrounding hype is actually very convenient for politicians looking to sway votes their way.
