I was googling pictures of horses when I saw an image of a can of evporated milk from that brand carnation. I've seen the can a hundred some times but in blue letters I saw "Horse milk" and I thought "Whaa?!" so I clicked on it and read some articles about how horse milk is expensive, considered a delicacy, how it's more nutricious and how much some mares just hate it, some of you horse lovers might be like "Yeah, I would drink horse milk, of course its better than cow milk, horses are better than cows!" horses are better than cows but I would never, if the mares don't like it so much then why put them through it?!

I've eaten horse meat before. It tastes like cow but is about three times more healthy for you. Quite a shame, actually, because I probably won't eat it again... I'm one of those people who has to try everything at least once, however. Milk? Meh. Moo juice = grosssss.

I've milked mares that were hesitant with their new foal. But that was colustrum and I didn't drink it, I got it into the foal.
But I've milked mares at weaning time when their bags were drying up and were tight and painful. I drank that milk, and it is thinner, less fatty, and a lot sweeter than cow's milk. Has a slight blue tint to it.
You don't get much out of a mare, not like a milk cow. But the Mongolians drink it and also make yogurt out of it. I'd like to try that yogurt sometime.
I never had a problem with milking mares... just have to know the mare and sorts slide and sneak up on her bag. LOL. Massage it a bit first (out of kicking range) and Bob's your uncle.
But I used to work in a dairy (cows, 60 of them), so I know a bit about milking. Nothin like fresh milk every day, with the cream on top. Ohhh I miss that. Real cream in my coffee. And it makes heavenly fudge.
