A few
Like "I need you to answer a few questions, what is your mother's maiden name?"
I have a friend that gets scam attempts every couple of days because she plays the market like crazy.

You've got to be kidding me! gonk
You'd think the mods and admins would at least take the effort to spell properly.
They may as well have said something to the effect of: "Hay d00d!!1! wir teh modz and u sh00d giv us ur passwurd cuz sum1 sed ur hackin, or well bannz0r j00!! lulz!!1!"

Hmm, you know, I never have had problems with people trying to scam me. Not that it would be a big problem if they did though since most of them are clearly idiotic and see-through as a newly washed window, but it is nice to not have them cluttering up my PM box. I only ever got chainletters even sometimes from when I had a couple of newbies I had tried to give the benefit of the doubt on my friends' list for a little while and the old send to your friends' list function was still working.

lawl, I just got a pm from some one with the whole "Wow you've been chosen to be a mod!" thing. I reported it. It had to have been because I put some of my more expensive stuff that I never use on the market so I can sell it to get money for my quest 'cause the pm came like right after I did that.

I haven't been scammed recently but beggars are pissing me off.
"...Wow, how did you get a Scythe? Can you get me one?"
"...I donated. My hard earned cash."
"Can I have one?"
"...no."

Anybody who begs outside of the charity/quest subforum, their signature, or any guild that allows it I wish would just get autobanned, like having certain combinations of things in your text in a row would automatically get you banned for at least a little while. It won't happen I know though, even with fair warning given to people, not just because they want to give people more of a chance and not appear totalitarian, but also because the program would likely even accidentally pick up on and ban parodies and such. emo

I don't have that much of a problem with beggers. Possibly because this place in the only place I hang out in and post in anymore.

When I used to like live on Gaia I got beggers ALL the time. It was SO FLIPPING ANNOYING. I used to get a lot of PMs with people asking if they could use my sig in their sig then getting pissy when I said no. rolleyes At least that was better than when I had to PM people saying to remove s**t I worked on and HAD MY USERNAME ON from their sigs. xp
I think I got a scam PM once. And another time I got someone asking if I wanted to trade WoW gold or my account for Gaia items. rofl

They're starting to get smart!
I got one the other day that took me to a page that looked like Gaia Online, but wasn't, and asked for my username and password. This was on a mule that had about 90 gold and wearing all of the good items he had, so...sucks to be them. Reported.
My friend got another good one that had the Gaia banner and everything, but it asked for her password. She asked me about it. I could tell it was a fake but it was really well done. Reported.
