OK I wanna hear about all those scams people tried to pull on you that went horibly wrong.
Myn was not so much a scam as it was a fool trying to rip me off, thinking as a level 13 I was new, when infact my main is much MUCH higher
he tried selling mew cut sapphires for 2.5k each, and when I said "lol no way" he walked itno a guard, engaged in combat, died and dropped the sapphires, along with most probably the rest of his "stuff worth counting"

Mehehe moron... Ooh! My friend was somewhere, and someone PMed her and went "you've won the rs jackpot etc etc give me your password and I'll give you money!" her reply?
"Are you a tree?"
This continued until said scammer got so pissed off he left...

Mine was when i was lower in level and some guy wanted to sell me a Rune 2h, and I was going to buy it. So I got my gold out and we started to trade and then I noticed that the sword was noted... yea, so I put up my gold and as soon as I did he clicked off of the trade and said "oops sorry" then traded me again, but this time tried to give me a noted steel or iron 2h (can't remeber) He called me a few names after I called him a scammer then I repoted him lol noob.

If I counted all the times... Ugh.
But seriously, my all-time favorite scam is anything having to do with dropping an item and pressing "Alt-F4" regardless of what any one says, nothing really compares to the ignorance of the people who tried the scam, let alone those who actually went along with it.
I found it was most popular along the gate to Al-Kharid. Noobs.

Also, the time when someone told me I'd won the RuneScape Golden Lottery Prize and that he was Jagex staff. (Name was Peter Staf1) Went into the Draynor Bank and he was a fricken lvl 3! I went up to him and said "Where's your crown? Did you lose it?" and he goes "Yes, I lost it." and logs out.

Oh yea, and I swear the biggest scam of all is that " I can trim your armour scam" I'v seen so many noobs try to scam people with that it's unbeleivable. Like one time when i was on f2p some guy says he can trim my armour and playing alon g i say ok and we click the trade option box on and I add the armour then take it off and say sike! then report him lol

i thought the trim armor scam was my favorite. cause it takes armor. lol. I am not a scammer btw. >.< my most commonly seen scam is when they say they are giving free money away and we have to play the trust game.

I got gotted by the trimming armour scam when I was, oh, level 14? A guy took my iron armour that my friend gave me. Didn't care too much though, cos I was training my smithing and I could make quite a bit of bronze. Basically I made my own armour at that level, so I wasn't really phased.

I remember my favorite Scam someone tried on me. I even use this person's Username as a place holder in my Ignore List now. They P.M.ed me while I was doing business, with an offer to "make me a Member" by giving me free Membership for 2 years, after a short poll. Somewhere during there there were questions such as "Do I enjoy R.S.?" and eventually I had the question "How do I get a Membership from this? I'm already a Member." which should have been their first hint that they messed up, few who get a Membership are still dumb enough to fall for that scam, since they want to keep the money they pay for them, not some dumb Scammer, but the person continues with how "It'll just become free for two years." thing.
This person, of course, needed my password to get me the Membership, after which I mentioned they were reported, they said that I'd better give them the password now because otherwise I'll be banned in three weeks for reporting a "Membership Giver" as they called them self, And I got a new Ignore List divider out of the deal. This happened shortly after I started playing in late August of 2005, and I'm sure you can figure out what that means for how long it's been (which is much longer than 3 weeks) and the person never could answer why it would take three weeks, other than continue with that threat that never turned up true.
It was kind of pathetic, you'd think Scammers would notice the overflowing numbers of people who play without any form of sense and just go after them again and again until they figure it out (I don't think it's a good thing to do, but you'd think they'd figure that one out) but no, they go for the intelligent people like me who actually think the rules are worth reading, know that Scams are out there and how to disable and destroy them efficiently, and well, you'd think they'd just figure it out, you know? But they don't, they just figure out one Username at a time who not to go after.

Yes. RETARD. I don't get people who report other players for leading them into wildy. Excluding lures of course. If you're trying to scam someone and you're not paying attention to where you are, you deserve to be pked. Moron.
