Everybody's Fool

Album: Fallen
Track Number: 3
Track Title: Everybody's Fool

Background Choir: Millenium Choir, Los Angeles
Written by: Amy Lee, Ben Moody, David Hodges
Produced by: Dave Fortman
Mixed by: Dave Fortman
Published by: Zombies Ate My Publishing, Forthefallen Publishing and Dwight Frye Music, Inc. (BMI)

Perfect by nature
Icons of self indulgence
Just what we all need
More lies about a world that

Never was and never will be
Have you no shame
Don't you see me
You know you've got everybody fooled

Look, here she comes now
Bow down and stare in wonder
Oh, how we love you
No flaws when you're pretending
But now I know she

Never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

Without the mask
Where will you hide
Can't find yourself
Lost in your lie

I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore

It never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

It never was and never will be
You're not real and you can't save me
Somehow now you're everybody's fool

I read somewhere that Amy wrote this song because her little sister wanted to be like Christina Agulara (sorry bout spelling) or someone similar with the whole sex appeal. And Amy was pretty ticked off, so she wrote this song to tell herself (and others) that she won't use sex appeal to promote herself; that she will stay true to herself and her music.

That's right, Lori was also into Britney Spears. There's an interview around somewhere when Amy talks about how she thinks it's a shame since Christina has talent, but Britney doesn't so her body is all that she has left! razz
