Pulling his motorcycle sideways on the dirt road, Hektor flipped up the visor of helmet. Anxiety shot through him like a bolt of fire; coming back to a place like this? A place he vowed to never return to. He stared at the city, looking down on it from the low hill the paused on.

Sialis sat silent and imposing in front of him. He could almost see the whole city from here, how the streets were laid out. Where each of the main buildings were, the barracks and the others where he had spent his youth...

The central buildings seemed old and strong. Hektor used to admire them, seeming to symbolize the strength of the army and sat as a sturdy foundation of the country. But now they only seemed to have been built more to sooth the pompous pride of those in power then for any real beauty. Those buildings which were used for government sat cold and square on the outer of the city, as if the modern age caught the leaders unaware and they had little time to catch up. After seeing the tremendous heights that master craftsmen ahd made out of other cities he had visited, to Hektor the city of Sialis seemed like a dark and dying behemoth.

Yes the city was properly laid out; you couldn't get rid of the in-bred military discipline that easily. Far from the center, however, things began to unravel. Bordellos and brothels sprang into existence over night, it seemed, then died just as quickly. Girls going from one hose to the other with as much loyalty as the soldiers showed their soiled and money grubbing doves.

Houses of ill-repute the government tried to cover but didn't try to close...

Hektor sighed and shut his visor. He turned to pet the small fur ball he carried with him, taking a small snack out of a pouch tied to the side of the mike. The furry ball barked gratefully, letting off a small, tinny howl. Hektor push the pup back down and strapped it in. He made sure his weapons were still there, wrapped in oiled cloth and safe from the weather. Patting his long duster he felt the piece of technology he prided himself in: A small pistol in working order.

If he were to be caught with this....

He shook his head and pressed the starter on his machine. Revving the engine up, he let go of the clutch and the gas and quickly snaked back toward the city.

Destiny, it seemed, wasn't through with him yet. Coming back to Sialis after so long seemed ludicrous, but it was something he had to do.

The sun stood over the central building of Sialis as Hektor sped toward the city; it illuminated one of the only places he had ever really thought of as home.

The bus depot was rather crowded. People pushing past in a hurry to get to the bus that would take them away from Sialis, others in a hurry to greet friends or family as they stepped off of buses arriving in Sialis. Genji didn't particularly like crowds. Thankfully his bus was now accepting passengers. He passed his ticket to the driver standing next to the bus door who then ripped the stub off and handed it back to him.

Just as he took a step forward to get on the bus, another man barged right in front of him and got on--obviously in a hurry.

Everyone is always in such a hurry, he thought as he shot the man a piercing glare.

He climbed aboard the bus and found his seat. The seat next to him was empty, and he hoped it would stay that way. Thirty or so minutes passed as the rest of the passengers boarded and took their seats, and finally the driver boarded as well, closing the door behind him.

With a jerk the bus started into motion and pulled out of the station. Genji sat back and tried to relax, a luxury he rarely granted himself, as the bus made its way out of the city.

[NPC] Gruumar

Gruumar suddenly stopped in his tracks as if it sensed something. A lifeless body dangled from it's claws. Slowly it turned back towards the road leading out of the city. A transit bus was turning onto the road just beyond where Gruumar had attacked and was headed out of town.

Gruumar turned towards the bus and bent down on all fours. It moved a little faster that way, but not much. After a few minutes it finally caught up with the bus and slammed into the side of it, knocking it over into a ditch. The windows all shattered as it crashed onto its side and the passengers began to scream in pain and fear as they climbed over each other as they tried to escape from the horror now towering over them. Gruumar tore into the metal sides of the bus with it's thick claws and ripped a massive hole in its side. It grabbed one unlucky passenger and plucked him from the hole and bit the helpless man's head clean off. Gruumar didn't typically eat flesh, so it opened its mouth and let the decapitated head roll out of its mouth onto the ground. If the passengers weren't scared before, they certainly were now and their screams reached a fervent pitch to show it.

Genji was certainly rattled by the sudden crash, but not nearly as bad as the rest of these panicked passengers. Something had knocked the bus over into a ditch like it was nothing. The rest of the passengers were frantic, scrambling for broken windows, trying to escape that 'something' that just attacked the bus.

Genji was trying to get his bearings when suddenly from the side of the bus that was now its roof, huge claws began to pierce through, and soon a gaping hole was ripped open. Towering there above the newly-made hole was Gruumar.

It was definitely something odd to behold. It had no head, but it had what could be described as a face in its chest. Faceted jewel-like eyes, lifeless in appearance, gazed down into the bus. The huge opening directly in the center of its chest lined with jagged teeth was its mouth--dripping thick saliva.

Some of the braver, or possibly more desperate passengers began to try to make their escape through the hole in the side of the bus. One of the unluckier ones was snatched out by the beast. Genji cringed as the man's head was bitten off a moment later.

Looks like I won't be going out that way.

Genji pulled himself toward the front of the bus, crawling over the incapacitated to get there. The bus driver's dead body hung limp in the seat--still strapped in by his seat belt. He reached back with his left hand for his sword, only to come up empty.

Damn!

He looked back to where he'd come from, but he couldn't see the blade. People were moving around in their fruitless attempts to flee, preventing him from making anything out.

No time, he thought to himself and pulled out his other sword. Using the hilt of the sword he smashed the rest of the broken glass from the buses front window and climbed out. He had a few minor cuts and a few bruises from the ordeal, but he was still alive. He turned toward the beast and took an offensive stance. Gruumar seemed to have the same thing on its mind and turned to face him as well.

Hmph.

His motobike screeched to a halt as he watched the scene unfolding before him. Snapping his goggles up onto his forehead Williams jaw dropped open in shock. In an instant the man was moving though, popping open the heavy satchel on the side of the bike he pulled forth a small briefcase. Snapping it open he quickly assembled the contents and heafting the large crossbow up against his shoulder. Drawing back the string he took aim, looking down the shaft of the arrow, tacking careful aim.

"Halt in the name of the greater Sialis military!" He shouted from behind the weapon; when the creature bit the head off of a passenger William cursed.

"Looks like it's not going to listen, wasn't expecting it to either." He mumbled as the bow twanged and the heavy bolt let fly at the creature.

[NPC] Gruumar

Sckrrshh!

The bolt hit Gruumar in the lower abdomen with such force that it passed completely through its body. A thick blueish substance began to coagulate around the wound. With a few lumbering steps, Grummar turned to face its aggressor. Its faceted eyes--normally an emerald hue--began to turn bright red as it locked on to its new target. It let out a long, rumbling growl as it began to slowly move towards the man wielding the crossbow.

The bolt wound had healed itself already, just moments after infliction. The blueish ooze quickly evaporating into a small puff of purple-black haze.

Meanwhile, tendrils of purple-black mist were forming a thick layer of rocks and mud over each of the beast's forepaws. In just a few seconds, the mud and rock hardened into a boulder the size of a man's torso. Not a moment to soon, either.

Just as Gruumar had finished summoning it's rock fists, it had come within a couple strides of its target. It bellowed loudly as it reared back and prepared to strike with it's rock punch. It swung powerfully at the crossbow-wielding foe...

William's hand shot to the satchel across the back of his waist, pulling for to small flash-bang grenades. He smashed them to the ground as he turned his back and leaped onto his motorbike. He took off away from the thing in a screeching frenzy, moving about one hundred meters from the massive beast. Sheperd's hand clutched the brake and turned hard, pulling the bike to a halt in a rough one-hundered-eighty degree turn. The soldier reved the throttle, causing the engine to roar, then sped back toward the massive creature looming before him.

"Heaven's open, pits of hell crack, shield me with you Demonic Wall!" Sheperd spoke quietly, creating his shielding enchantment.

William drew the blade from his back and wedged it in the crux of his shoulder like a short lance. He leaned out enough as he passed open to strike the thing around the legs and atleast slow it as he passed. Sheperd's eyes flashed wide just before impact, his mind catching up to his body, a question rippiling through his mind; You sure your not going to get ripped from your bike?

[NPC] Gruumar

Gruumar's rock-encrusted hand pulls him slightly off balance as it flies through the air--completely missing it's target. Seconds later there was a blinding flash accompanied by a loud 'boom'.

Gruumar appeared to be unaffected by the bombs, and smashed it's hardened fists into the pavement with enough force to crack the blacktop in several places. Its eyes remained emotionless, though it's body-language belied its anger. The monster lunged toward the foe as he sped away on his motorbike--too fast to catch. Then the bike screeched to a halt and spun about, facing Gruumar once more.

As the assailant sped towards him, Gruumar ballooned his chest to nearly double, preparing to release a massive Sonic Blast.
