...I have real money, so I was thinking about spearheading some giveaways with April letters as an incentive to join the guild. However, we want active members, so it might be tough to only get active members to join, and not everyone who wants a donation item/letter...
I would put up maybe 2 or 3 if this gets off the ground...
Do I have any support?

It's a nice idea and in a perfect world it would be a great idea... but the guild will get alot of gold diggers saying 'I'll be dedicated' they get their letter then leave. If the idea went over and I had any money I'd help... but I'm skint.

I agree with the others. In theory it sounds great, but for the majority of the people, they'll just join, get the collectible, and leave/become inactive.
Maybe a better idea is to set a number of (non-bump) posts to reach and, when reached, you get the collectible for the month in which you achieved the set number of posts.

Ah. Well I think everyone's correct here. By and large most people are self serving. A good idea in a bad world. You would have to make the number of posts high. Like more than 2 a day. I post more than 2 times a day and the odds of me not posting atleast once is rare (every day). My problem is I'm new on the guild idea (I want a button in the top menu bar) so it's hard for me to break my habit of going to the GD to post. Also, I only post in GD for gold. lol. I'll try to come here more often and keep a thread going. Maybe we can get a story going or a discussion on something. I gotta get going though I need food and shower. *just woke up*

Life is keeping me from Gaia, and this does not please me.
Anyway, Mikey, love, I appreciate the idea of putting up letters. It'd be a great idea if people didn't disappear so easily. I made this thing, and I'm not even here. ]:
If we want more active members, ask the active, literate roleplayers that you've seen around or are roleplaying with. Let them know that we've just sort of started this guild and are hoping to pick it up from the ground. They could one day be the ES&L vets! People always like having superior titles, so they might like that idea.
Thanks again for trying to think of recruitment ideas. That's swell of you. <3
