Deadsy is my all time favorite band, but that is just my opinion. i wanna hear your opinion about the L.A Based synth rock band.

Bringing the flair of prog-rock to the crushing grind of '90s metal and industrial, Deadsy released their first album in early 1997. Commencement was supposed to be released in 1999, as well as a new home in the form of Korn's label Elementree. But the album was inexplicably pulled from release while the band continued to try and promote themselves through touring. Successful appearances on several high profile tours and bills kept the band busy, but minor problems with both the lineup and their website plagued the members as the album continued to stay unreleased. Finally, in the summer of 2002, Commencement saw release. (courtesy of www.vh1.com)

I was a little dissapointed with Commencement. They've got a lot of people I like working with them and respecting them, but I found it sad that most of commencement was filled with cover songs instead of their own original works. But then again, I didn't really care for Cruella much. I dug the idea, but didn't care much for the execution. I was also pissed that Commencement's edited. I mean, it's cool to have Jon Davis grunt over your ********, but I'd rather hear PEB's vocals then Jon's.

But I do love what I've heard from them for the most part. Their cover of Brand New Love was great, and The Key was worth buying the disk all of it's own. I've also heard a couple good live covers of theirs, Crimson & Clover & Just Like Heaven, which I also loved.

I can't wait for them to put out another disk with more original music. They have potential. 3nodding Plus, the band's identities are just a groovy idea.
