After the death of Drizzt a group of Drow fled from the underdark to other regions. After the new weapon master of house baenre left Triel was furious. She dicided that none should be above her (metaphoricaly and litteraly) and decided to take over silverymoon and other surrounding areas. The story unfolds here.

Normally I'd be with you, but I'm a DM who just had 7 players in a single session ALL want to be outcast Drow Rangers.....
