Has annyone ever taken the time to raise a Breloom? With the right nature and moveset, Breloom can kick major a**! I just realized that while looking up new pokemon that I have yet to train. neutral

Excellent, Breloom is one of my favorite Pokemon, my top 5 I think. He's just so odd and unique I just love him. That being said he is far from perfect, and has glaring weaknesses that need to be ironed out with a steamroller in order for him to be usable. I'm not one for competitive play, but I would not suggest a Breloom for that, as much as I love him. However, I don't do competitive play, so I may be 100% wrong in that regard.
Breloom's issue is not so much their 4x weakness to Flying moves, but their awful Special Defense and their lack of speed to make up for it. However, they have a good Defense stat and their Attack is off the scale, so they can hit like a truck. A very cute truck, with a cool mushroom hat.
As for a movelist Spore is a must. Only Shroomish can learn it, I think at level 45. It has saved me in one on one battles many times, because Breloom isn't a speed demon, but he's above a lot of Pokemon. Do not teach your Breloom Special Attacks, I warn you this. Giga Drain is the worst mistake you can make, especially because they learn Seed Bomb and the TM Drain Punch was introduced. This brings me to the topic of Fighting moves. Three good ones are Brick Break, Drain Punch, and Sky Uppercut. Drain Punch is a good Physical draining move (base power 60), but Breloom's lack of defensive stats make this trade off of power a bit risky, as it usually won't last long enough to make the healing worthwhile. Brick Break is the safe road, it has accuracy and a very good base 75 damage. If you're feeling a bit risky however, Sky Uppercut has an excellent damage (85), with only a small hit to accuracy (90). A Rock move is suggested, but it's really up to you. Nearly every Flying Pokemon has higher speed then Breloom, but at least Sky Uppercut can hit Flyers. Rock Slide and Stone Edge are both good moves, but like I said up to you.
There is only one type of Nature that works for Breloom, one that takes away from his Special Attack. Any boost in any other stat is good, but you'd be better off not getting Adamant (+ATK - SP ATK) because its attack is high enough, and it would be smarter to raise something like his Speed or Special Defense.
My Breloom, P.B.J (Portabello Jr.) has an Adamant Nature. Yes I'm a hypocrite, but most of the friends I battle have slow Pokemon so it's okay. His movelist consists of Spore, Rock Slide, Seed Bomb and Sky Uppercut. Spores excellent accuracy has saved my butt more than once, because once they're asleep, Portabello Jr. just beats the piss out of them with his immense Attack stat. I would suggest Quick Claw for an item, it really works more times than you'd think.
In closing I would suggest raising a Breloom, they're cute, powerful and a big surprise for your opponent, as I'm sure most of them never even faced one before, less know what it can do move-wise. Hope I was of help, and I hope you decide to raise one of these much underrated Pokemon.
Yes I'm aware the post was from last year, but let this serve as a good reference to anyone who asks this question.

Give him Poison Heal as his ability. Toxic Orb + Facade + Poison Heal = 140 Base Power move for free.

i used to have a breloom. it evolves from a shroomish that you catch in ruby/saphire/emerald it can kill a lot of things in my opinion. my breloom has a move called mach punch that will always go first. i use my breloom as a finisher when the opponent has little HP

I love him! He is amazing, and I think he's could if you can find his weaknesses, and teach him moves that defy them.

In XD Gale of Darkness Breloom was my main Shadow Snagger with False Swipe and my quick hit with Mach Punch, I did teach him Giga Drain just to have one grass move in his set (Yes I knew his Special Attack sucks, but this was Generation 3 and Grass was useful against a lot of pokemon.) The only move I hated was Aerial Ace.

Breloom has been a freaking beast and is just getting better with each game. In the 3rd gen. he wasn't good because of the grass typing, but with the physical/special split along with giving him seed bomb, t-punch, superpower, stone edge, poison heal, and the toxic orb, he became a freaking beast. Right now the top 2 versions of Breloom are a SubPuncher with Substitute, Spore (should be on every breloom moveset), Focus Punch, filler (t-punch, seed bomb, or stone edge, i'd go for t-punch) and SubSeed with substitute, spore, leech seed, and focus punch. He has poison heal and is holding a toxic orb with both of these movesets. You can also get real creative with Breloom. I like using it with a choice scarf/spore for a lead (freaking amazing), though you have to switch out right after along with you loose poison heal's ability. Also, a straight sweep version using spore and and any of these three moves (superpower, sky uppercut, seed bomb, stone edge, and t-punch). Finally, with the dreamworld abilities, Breloom gets technician which is freakin' amazing. Mach Punch+Choiceband+Technician+STAB anyone?? Also, with Choiceband+technician, bullet seed is almost as strong as seed bomb.
