So far I haven't read a good amerimanga, but it doesn't mean that it's not out there. There are some online comics that are decently good, and if that was translated into a more flowing story in a graphic novel, that would be awesome!

One of the problems that I feel plagues a lot of american 'manga' is the art quality and technique. It's true that a lot of japanese artists are not very good (Rumiko Takashi for example), but in that case they make up with great techniques. One of the endearing things about manga is the 'real' feel of it, accomplished by using real media as opposed to just computers. I feel that's missing in a lot of amerimanga, that kind of homely quality. Also, the stories seem to lack, sadly.

I think the only one I've ever read is Dramacon, and I really liked it. Great art, obviously no need to translate, and you still get the "manga feel". I know alot of people are against it because it being made in America makes it a "comic book" rather than a manga, but who cares? They're all graphic novels ^_^ If the story's good and the art's good, read it. Shouldn't matter where it came from.

I've read a few Amerimanga and slowly but surely the business is becoming something I can truly like. My favorite manga is actually an Amerimanga called Off*Beat, which is a good read for shounen-ai lovers. Two of the three books are out. Another good one is Dramacon, as mentioned before by Tora. It's cute and lovable and I want the second volume bad. Steady Beat is also a good read, and has an interesting story circulating around a Texan girl finding out her sister is a lesbian. It's a very good read.Volumes two of four are out.

Hmm...I haven't really read any, unless you count Hopeless Savages, which is more of a comic, anyway. I know there are some amerimanga, but I think there might be more bad ones than good. There's one called "A Midnight Opera" that the Anime News Network called absolutely horrendous, but I haven't read it.

I'm pretty sure TokyoPop manga is Amerimanga, so yeah, I've read some okay ones. Like Blank and Bizenghast.

I try reading Amerimanga when I see it (as long as the art is good and not...odd looking). So far I really like RE:play and Next Exit <3 I adore Christy Lijewski's art.

I think the only one I've read that I know is american is Destiny's Hand. I've read the first book and it's not bad. I like pirates but it is a little corny in a very american way. I'm not sure how to explain it (because a lot of manga is corny). But it is good.

Most of TokyoPops manga is japanese. However, it encourages foreign artists to become mangaka and also publishes American artists manga.

For me, how much I like American manga depends on the manga, just like Japanese manga.

That magazine is okay, but I prefer Newtype and Anime Insider a whole lot more..

I love American "manga".

Everybody, listen up now:

"Dogby Walks Alone" is one of the best comics I've ever read. Find it and read it. I can almost guarantee you'll love it.

Also, I'm gonna count "Runaways" as an American manga, since it started out as one under the "Tsunami" imprint of Marvel. If you don't read Runaways, you're really missing out. It is my favorite comic of all time. I like it even better than Ex Machina and Transmetropolitan.

Other ones under that rule include "MBQ", "LiveWires", "The Abandoned", and "I Luv Halloween". I'm gonna count all of TokyoPop's American comics as American manga, just to make things easier.

Also, I'll probably love "Atomic King Daidogan" when it comes out.
