Blood Diamond and The Departed were two of my favorite movies of 06. The Departed came out in October and Blood Diamond two months later. The acting in each was superb, and i was astonished once again with how well Leonardo DiCaprio can portray a unique role.
The Departed soundtrack inclueds DropkickMurphy's Shipping up to Boston, which i caught right off the bat in the intro credits. Which didn't happen for at least 10 minutes. It stars Leo, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, and Mark Walhburg. The Plot is reletivaly simple, but the acting and direction is outstanding.
Another Brilliant Scorsese masterpiece.
The Blood Diamond Starring Leo and Djimon Hounsou was everythign i hoped it would be. Emotional, brilliant acting, and inspirational.
So, any comments on the backto back Leonardo movies? I'm in love with them. I recomend every movie phanatic watch them

"Gimmer Shelter" and "Shipping Off To Boston" were like the only songs on the whole soundtrack. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
The Departed kicked a**. The acting, pacing, and action was all flawless. Martin Scorsese is my hero.
I haven't seen Blood Diamond, but I'd really like to.
On Leo movies in general, I really haven't seen a whole lot. Titanic and The Aviator were pretty good. But that's about all I've seen. What I've really been wanting to watch is Gangs of New York. That's supposed to be excellent.

The Aviator isn't my favorite movie of all time ...lol...but It's really good. And of course the classic Titanic. Gangs of New York is amazing. Liam Neeson and Cameron Diaz. Of course, another Scorsese. He's amazazing.
I would also highly reccomend What's Eating Gilbert Grape as a must see Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, and Julliet Lewis.

I thought both of the movie was well done and DiCaprio did amazing job.

Blood Diamond is a corny, stupid, poorly acted, over-the-top, poorly written piece of s**t. The only good thing about it was the technical aspects (mostly just sound..) It was the second worst movie nominated in a top 8 category at the Oscars after Babel. Oh and the movie was highly manipulative. Leo was nominated for the wrong movie, and dijimon was just... Ehh.. Cartoonish and way to over the top. The Departed was a wonderful movie though, its highly entertaining. The only best picture winner this decade that was in my top ten of the year list. cheese_whine

both are great movies...it is too bad that the departed is actually a remake of the chinese infernal affairs...
its cool and all to see the movie with familliar faces but i must admid that infernal affairs had a better mood and some more details...
blood diamond was really great and another good movie with leo in it..
i love his acting

Kumadude both are great movies...it is too bad that the departed is actually a remake of the chinese infernal affairs... its cool and all to see the movie with familliar faces but i must admid that infernal affairs had a better mood and some more details... blood diamond was really great and another good movie with leo in it.. i love his acting oh ya, i had heard it was a remake, but i didn't know what it was of would you reccomend watching it?

Leo is NOT getting better as he gets older. I really lost respect for him when he did Titantic.
