Okay, it was inevitable, so here it is. Rules: 1. Standard Gaia ToS. Others as guild mods see fit. Suggestions: 1. Please, please, be nice. I can't stress how important this is. 2. Keep your post as neat and organized as possible. 3. If you have a suggestion for a deck, throw it out there. If you don't like someone else's suggestion and decide to mention that, please state why you don't like it, and what you think would be a better suggestion. Personal Requests: Try to help with at least as many decks than you post. In the Gaia TTF, sometimes it ends up being one or two people who help with decks for several pages. If there have been lots of decks put up without suggestions, please help with one or two before posting yours. Misc. Don't know what a card is? Go here: Gatherer

I'm always willing to give suggestions so long as I have an idea on format, but I look at things from a Casual standpoint so I don't know how competitive it will be, particularly in Standard or Vintage. But I do what I can.

I can help with Vintage, mainly cause while I do keep up on rules/cards, I tend to forge t what cards have or have not left rotation for Std/EXT/Vin/etc...

On the poll subject. I'd hate to have to hold back on gushing about a card until the actual pre-release. I figure once you give a fair warning about having spoiler stuff its no problem. Most people would want to see it anyway.
Good to see you on here Lia, it seems most of the cool names I know from TT are here. I saw musthace as well.
Anywho, cool to be aboard.

Yeah, its nice to see so many familiar faces, especially since I know that many of us do actually have decks that we're looking for serious suggestions on.
As to the poll, I figure I'll keep it up for two or three sets, and if there's no complaints, then this thread will also hold the [set name here] testing, at least, inside the guild.

If your going for an aggro/control sort of thing maybe you could cut down to 2 colours like U/B or some such, as it seems theres not too much white stuff that you really need in there. And take out some of the more random 1-ofs that aren't really helping much like Demonic Consallation, Curse of the cabal and veiling oddity. Try to maybe focus on more solid creatures and counter/removal. Stuff like Last Gasp, Sudden Death, Cancel, Rune snag are all pretty neat. And maybe cut the Urborgs down a bit to 1 or 2. Its great to be able to get mana fixing, it would just suck if you drew multiple and just had this dead card in your hand. Of course if you could get Dual and painlands for the colours your playing, that could always help too. I just know their a pain in the a** to come by sometimes. Its just kinda hard to play multi-coloured decks without them. We could probably help more, if you told us a bit more about what your trying to do with the deck.

R/G Accellivore
Lands 1 Gemstone Mine 12 Forest 8 Mountain
Artifacts 4 Chromatic Star
Spells 4 Rampant Growth 3 Search for Tomorrow 3 Browbeat 4 Stone Rain 4 Creeping Mold 3 Harmonize 4 Mwonvuli Acid Moss 3 Seismic Spike 2 Wildfire
Creatures 2 Citanul Woodreaders 2 Timbermare 1 Magnivore
Sideboard 1 Seismic Spike 2 Detritivore 2 Dead // Gone 1 Birds of Paradise 2 Sundering Vitae 1 Krosan Grip 1 Naturalize 2 Evolution Charm 3 Shock
The sideboard is currently ridiculously useless, but I don't have the anti-control and anti-aggro elements I really need to make an effective sideboard.

I'll just assume you don't have Duals/pains either. But you MUST get the 3 extra Magnivores if you want this deck to work. C'mon how much could those things possibly be going for 3-4 bucks at most? I believe in you hon, you can get them. THe chromatic stars seem pretty unneeded since you already have 4 Rampant Growth and 3 Search For Tommorows. And I think you could definatley drop the Woodreaders, as I can't imagine them doing anything too much in here. I actually think R/G landkill Wildfire could be cool. But with a bit more focus. And definatley, definatley more win conditions, from the looks of it you only have like 3 guys that might actually be able to swing for damage. I would try something like -4 Star -3 Seismic Spike -2 Woodreaders -3 Browbeat (Harmonize should be cool enough) -3 Search For Tommorows -1 Creeping Mold +2 Wildfire +3 Savage Twister +3 Magnivore +4 Rumbling Slum +4 R/G Signet (comes out more consistently on turn 2 and survives wildfire Its not the best suggestions. But its all I could think of really whilst still basically keeping the same idea of what your trying to do. Sidenote to Lia: I really dig the idea of us helping people with decks and posting our own decks and what not. I just still think it would be easier if we gave each deck its own thread. Or maybe even made a subforum in here where people could post decks. Its just hard to get good responses for your deck when someone might post another deck right after yours. It makes it tougher to respond to decks as well as tougher to get responses. I might even suggest something similiar to what they have on other popular magic sites. wheres theres a subforum for each format and what not. Or since were a fairly small group, I suppose even just a "Post your decks" forum would suffice. I totally don't mean to nag or complain or anything. Just throwing in my 2 cents.

But its all I could think of really whilst still basically keeping the same idea of what your trying to do. I need one more Magnivore. 4 is overkill. They're dead cards until at least turn 8 or so. And it's almost a guaranteed mulligan if I get more than one in my opening hand. I'm debating replacing the stars with signets, but I really do want to be able to RIP through my deck, and the star's card draw is more important to me than mana fixing. Your changes would make the deck into a mid-range aggro/wildfire deck, which sounds like a viable plan to me, but I want to keep this deck close to the goal of ripping half my deck out in 10 turns, reliable, consistent turn 3 LD, and the ability to recover from Wildfire consistently. Woodreaders are currently the only real way I have to stall early aggro, and later on they're two cards with a resilient body attached. Not a shabby deal. I'm really looking for ways to improve the sideboard against control and against combo.

WARNING: FOR VINTAGE PLAY!!! I built this deck based on MY abilities and preferences, I have fun playing it and win enough to warrant keeping it updated. I do not have any "PLANAR CHAOS" Cards yet so will not list cards I have not personally tested. My usual groups I play with prefer Vintage and while we do build Std decks, we usually only exclude "Unglued/Unhinged"
Total cost for deck, $13.56 and creative trading....
Okay heres the deck. NAME: All American
COLOR(s): Red / White / Blue
PURPOSE: Field control using high tech and big nukes.
TURN AVERAGE FOR WIN (for people that only care about that.): 3
LANDS- Plains x5 Mountain x2 Island x3 Seat of the Synod x2 Great Furnace x3 Ancient Den x2 Darksteel Citadel x3 Cloudpost x4 Izzet Boilerworks x4 Azorious Chancery x3 Boros Garrison x2
CREATURES- Artifact: Platinum Angel x1 Mycosynth Golem x2 Myr Retriever x3 Stuffy Doll x1 Blue Myojin of Seeing Winds x1 White Magus of the Disk x1 Leonin Abunas x2 ENCHANTMENTS- White Seal of Cleansing x1 Spirit Link x1 SORCERIES- White Golden Wish x1 Ritual of Restoration x1 Roar of Reclamation x2 Blue Fabricate x2 Red Obliterate x1 Gold Invoke the Firemind x1 INSTANTS White Disenchant x1 Beacon of Immortality x2 Angel's Grace x1 Ethereal Haze x4 Blue Gifts Ungiven x1 Counterspell x2 Red Feedback Bolt x2 ARTIFACTS Mycosynth Lattice x1 Ur-Golem's Eye x2 Loxodon Warhammer x1 Isochron Scepter x3 Darksteel Forge x1 Grinding Station x1 Feldon's Cane x2 Vedalken Orrery x1 Panoptic Mirror x1 Clock of Omens x1 Pariah's Shield x1 Blasting Station x1
SIDEDECK: Krak Clan Ironworks x2 Blaze X2 Erayo, Soratomi Ascendant x1 Rule of Law x1 Urza's Armor x3 Echoing Ruin x3 Hivestone x1 Honden of Cleansing Fire x2
don't knock it, It works in casual, and does decently at conventions.

Vhati il-dal seems kind of meaningless. Some of your cards aren't Type 2 Legal, and a few don't really help your plan. -2 Mortipede -1 Vhati il-dal -1 Garza's Assassin -1 Deepfire Elemental -1 Ashen Ghoul (Not Type 2 Legal) -2 Balduvian Dead (Not T2) -1 Orcish Healer (Not T2) -1 Sisters of Stone Death -2 Grim Harvest +4 Scorched Rusalka +1 Gutless Ghoul +4 Plagued Rusalka +1 Sek'kuar, Deathkeeper +2 Stalking Vengeance As well as giving you a stronger early game, where many of your creatures can be sacrificed to stop oncoming attacks, chump block and then sac for damage, or other multi-purpose effects, the addition of Stalking vengeance deepens your overall strategy, as each creature sacrificed is a burn spell wherever you need it.
