This is definitely a subject that gets quite a lot of manlove and womanlove as well as androgyny, so we should have a thread about it!

Have you read any vampire-y novels that are rather GLBT? I would put, on my list, author-wise:

Poppy Z. Brite (her early stuff)
Anne Rice (though only certain ones are blatantly manlove)
John Michael Curlovich (vampires + Egypt + manlove = heart )

Does anyone know of any else? Doesn't have to be "traditional" vampires, there are quite a lot of very interesting takes on the creatures~

Aw, Cereal named my favourites. Poppy's Lost Souls is lovely, since it's such an edgy version of the whole vampire story. Very "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll".

I keep trying to find Poppy Z Brite stuff, but my library doesn't have any sad

I read a gay vampire detectivy type story recently, but I can't remember what it's called or who it's by, just that it was great fun. I'll find out what it's called and post it here, because it was amazing.

My library didn't have it, either. I don't know how it works elsewhere, but where I live you can ask the librarian to do a search, and see if another library has the book you're looking for. Then, they put in a request and a few days or weeks later, you get the book. Late fees are usually higher, though.

I think I can do searches, though I'll probably wait till after my exams are over, then I won't have to feel guilty about reading.

fiend by Jemiah Jefferson is another vamp book with both male and female relationships (that is same sex xD only a few straight couplings in the book) personally I like Anne Rices stuff better but that could be my own bias since Marius rocks everything else xDD
anyways its still a great book, the main character is trying sometimes but just wait for it ^^

Armand is my favourite of Rice's characters, but am I the only one who was creeped out by his relationship with Marius? sweatdrop

So I finally got hold of some Poppy Z Brite, a book of short stories called Swamp Foetus, I've only read two so far, but I'm pretty impressed, though slightly disturbed. Her style is beautiful, though very dark, slightly conciously so.

:'D!!!! Me too! Wow, I can see we'll all get along nicely. They're my favourite two vampires, especially Marius. I heart Blood and Gold.
