does anyone here run super nintendo/nes emulators on their computer and play netplay?

i have an exe for zsnes that has netplay enabled (this is very hard to find now), so if anyone has a special passion for super nintendo games and a gamepad i can send you the exe through aim or something and we can play two player over the internet.

it's a lot of fun, i just don't have enough people to play.

this also works for pretty much any system, although i've only ever used netplay with nes and snes emulators.

I don't use emulators, I have a fairly good collection of Video games systems and a huge selection of games on them. I love going back to the old systems with classic controllers and wasting a day. I have such a large sellection of systems and games that I never bothered with emulators.

I don't know how to do it on a mac, and I don't use my PC enough for it to be any good on there. I know that Voltaire! Voltaire! has emulators though...he always brings them to my attention when I mention that I bought a new or used game.

Snes9x 1.43 has been good to me and my old and quite meager collection. It's cross-platform, open source, and supports net-play.

It's starting to be come a moot point with all the new console based download services. I really wonder when someone starts pushing "official" old console emulator for the again systems. Retro is the new fad, at least among the aging gaming population that actually remembers it.

i definitely understand that. it's cool you have a lot of the original consoles. i have a couple (snes, nes) but i still use emulators for some purposes (video capture, sprite capture, hacked roms which can be fun, and of course netplay).

I have a shortage of gaming friends. Using netplay opens up a few more possibilities for me.
