This week two friends on gaia gave me their #s and wanted me to call them. I called them, to both of their surprise and you know what happen afterwards? I get pms telling me that they like me, a lot. One of them I have known on gaia for 3 years. Why this happened this week I have no clue. What really bothers me though is that although I like talking to both of these people I am not willing to be more than friends with anyone who doesn't live in the same state as me. Been there, done that, it's not fun.
I hate losing friends because of stuff like this. It's the worst.

Sorry to hear that. Long distance relationships are no fun. xp I've never been in an actual relationship with someone in another state, but I did once have to move away from my childhood crush. The part that sucked was when I went back to visit him years later, he turned into a total p***k.
Best of luck to you. Maybe they will be understanding enough and you can still remain friends.

That's too bad about your old crush, it's nice to be able to remember people pleasantly.
All I can do is hope that my friends will be ok with being just friends.

long-distance relationships, imo, don't work out unless you are both really committed and have a good base of having been near each other (ie, you date for a couple months, whatever, and then have to go away to university). Relationships stemming from people you know online don't ever work out well I think.
I've heard teh story or two of those relationships working, but frankly I think for the majority of people you are going to end up hurt or in a situation you don't want to be in.
Explain to these two guys that you aren't comfortable starting a relationship that is not only long-distance but primarily online. Sure, you've talked to these fella's on the phone and known them for a few years, but online that doesn't mean much.
They could have secrets they've kept from you the entire time (girlfriend, older then they say, younger then they say, just plain old crazy, etc)
I tried an online relationship once. I really liked the guy, and he was there for me when I needed it. I ended up meeting him because he lived close to where I went to university. We spent a day together near my uni, and then I went and spent a weekend up at his place. After that weekend I barely heard from him again.
A hello here and there, until I just didn't see him online at all. I never did find out what happened, and I've long since put it behind me, stopped caring and informed myself I was a total nub for ever trusting the guy.
He used me, and I'm not proud of it. But I learned from it.
Don't let these guys use you smile

To all: Well one of them has actually apologized for saying they like me eek I said that they didn't need to apologize, and that I respect how they feel. We've been talking since then so it's all good.
The other one sweatdrop I don't think I was clear enough for him. We'll see what happens when I tell him.
To Kldz:
*smiles* Oh I not awsome. But your pretty awsome for replying to all of my threads.
To Acrys
I'm sorry to hear that, I definelty understand what it's like to go through that sort of thing. *hugs*

It doesn't bother me anymore, I just wanted to share my story for any insight it might provide, hehe.
