Gakuen Kami
Introduction - Kami desu?
“Dear Sarah,
How is it going over there? It has been a while since the day I left for Ni-hon. My Japanese is improving a lot these days. O genki desu ka? Haha.. lol. I still remember the fun times you, me, and the rest of the group had in 8th grade. Anyways, I will forever remember those days… the lovely days when all of us where in the last year of middle school… and the days when some of us part. My! Enough with the sad talking, so Sarah… remember to write back! I’ll be able to see all of you guys 2 years later ok? I miss you. Tell the others I miss them too! Keep in touch!
Your beloved friend,
Miki
(P.S. Best Friends Forever!!!)”
At the desk, the girl sighs heavily as she folds the letter into the envelope. Right after she tapes the envelope together, a knock on the door is heard. The girl walks over to the door and when she opens it, a robot with a pink outfit appears.
“Konnichiwa Miki-sama, o genki desu ka?”
The girl relies, “Ah! Taki- san! Konnichiwa! Genki, genki.”
Taki- san looks at Miki. Seeing Miki in her adorable school uniform and black shining hair, she says with great admiration, “Wahh.. Miki-sama, hon don ni kawaii~”
“Hehe…”
“Oh! Right, I forgot. Do you need anything that needs to be sent?”
“Ah! So dan nay!” Miki runs to her desk and takes the envelope with the letter in it. As she hand it to the robot, she continue, “Please hand this to the mail man when he comes.”
“Of course! Don’t worry.” Taki looks at the clock in the hallway. “Oh my! Look at the time… I must get going. Miki-sama, please have some rest.”
“Ah… dai jo bu. See you later then.”
“Ok then. Keep good health. Sayonara!”
‘Watashi no Miki desu. I was originally from America, but I am living abroad in Japan for my freshman and sophomore years (In Japan… it’s the last year of middle school and the first year of high school). I really miss my friends, but in a year and a half later, I will be able to see them again. Well, let me tell you a little about me and stuff around my school. Taki-san is my dorm’s “mother”, I should say. But, she really does act like one though. She takes care of us as if we are her kids and does regular check-ups just in case. Watashi no dorm is a peaceful and happy place. Kids in this dorm are like family, with Taki as mother of course. So far, I am doing fine at my school and things are going well at Kotomo Gakuen. Kotomo Gakuen is split into three levels – elementary, middle, and high school level. Gakuen Kotomo acquired lots of acres of land and is also kind of well protected with big gates. It locates in the rural part of Japan; however, you can rarely see any other residence in this part of the country. This gakuen is kind of like a stranded island, so we even have our own little Central Town. Central Town is a place located inside the academy conveniently for the students, if they need anything. But, there is something that I must tell you. Everyone, including my friends, outside of the academy may think this is just a school, but there is more to it. First of all, the academy is not called Kotomo Gakuen. It’s Gakuen… Kami desu….’
As she said the last lines, the banner for the school came off, revealing the true name of the academy. “Gakuen…. Kami”
