This is a thread to talk about those wonderful times that someone accidentaly ruined a book for you completely. It can be accidental or on purpose either way please don't post what from the book was said to you that ruined it. (We don't want to be ruining anyone else's time with a book if they are reading it.
For me the six book of Harry Potter has been the most recent we were gaming at my house and sure enough my friend decides to just out of nowhere blurt out the climax of the book. The most horrible part of it is he knew I was reading the book.
Long ago I had the Lotr series ruined for me also these were ruined by accident because my brother was talking to a friend of his about them and I walked in on the conversation.

Book 6 was ruined for me too, but "luckily" I wasn't as into it at the time. In fact, I hadn't read more than book 1 at that point. Since then I've read through all six (and listened to them on tape at work), and I've decided that if book 7 gets ruined, I'm going to have to go homicidal. LOL
Really though, some people don't care but I can totally understand why many people want to keep things a surprize. That's part of the joy of reading! Getting the story in the order its supposed to come in.

I didn't get that far into the sixth HP book, but I pretty much know about what's happening, after a friend of mine spoiled the whole thing. I guess after the book came out he'd walk up to some other people I know, ask them if they finished/read the book yet, and if they didn't, he'd spoil the whole thing for them. And he doesn't even like Harry Potter xp

A saw the plot twist to HP 6 in a guy's signature on a TCG forum. I don't know that it took much away from the book but it was equal parts annoying and entertaining.
There's a video floating around of a guy driving up to one of those midnight release lines at a bookstore and yelling the spoiler out the window.
