I don't exactly know what it's about, but Miyazaki announced his new film, "Ponyo on a Cliff". Supposedly, it's supposed to be about his son, Goro, who recently directed (correct me if I'm wrong...) the recent film, "Gedo Senki".

To me, it looks like Miyazaki's making a new "Totoro"-like masterpeice! As in, this will be extremely child oriented, but gorgeous none-the-less!

UPDATE: Ghibli just released the themesong to Ponyo!

All I can say is....NICE!!! It looks like the little fish slowly BECOMES a human! It looks too freakin' cute!!! I can't....wait....*squee*

AH! Get this! This will be COMPLETELY hand drawn, AND in watercolor!!! No CGI whatsoever.....wow....that's all I can say!

Now I'm getting very excited!

More on the story:
It's about a little goldfish princess who wants to be human. She befreinds a little boy named Sosuke (whom is fassioned after Goro).

Oh, and it's supposed to debut around the summer of 2008! So, in about a year, we see a new masterpeice!

hmm.. i havent heard of it... but "My neighbors the Yamadas", i think, was also watercolor... or something like that.

looks nice smile will see it asap of course...

as for "extremely child oriented", imho it is the virtue of Miyazaki movies for children to be equaly apealing to real children as to the inner child of grown ups smile so there are no Miyazaki movies especialy for children, but only movies with a wider target audience biggrin

Looks strange, but a lot of his movie are. Though that's one of the things that make his movie so great. Beside the animation and storytelling. :3

Can't wait to hear more news about it.

hmm, I've never seen any of his watercolored animation, actually I've never seen/heard of a watercolored animation. I didn't know that My Neighbors the Yamadas were watercolored.
As for the Totoro part, there's no doubt about that at all. A goldfish princess would definently make any tale a fairytale. You can also tell it's going to be childish because of the simple animation.
