A friend posted this on Team Troughton but I figured it belonged here. It might have already been posted:

101 Things You Don't Might Not Know About Doctor Who

A few of my favs are:

19. Katy Manning, who played companion Jo Grant, was very short-sighted and tripped over a rock on her first day's filming. (Serves her right for not wearing glasses like the rest of us...)

30. During his final series, Tom Baker fell ill and his naturally curly hair turned straight, so he was given a perm.

44. Colin Baker was so popular in Israel in the 1970s that he was mobbed at The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

46. Not a lot of people know that McCoy was once a bouncer for the Rolling Stones.

56. There are just four working Dalek props. Computer graphics and careful shooting are used to create an army of the Doctor's deadliest enemy. (This explains the Cult Of Skaro me thinks!)

Oh and something I really didn't know and should have...
91. The TARDIS travelling through a blue vortex means it's going back in time. A red vortex means it's going forward.

And there are plenty more...

Getting ill can make someone's hair turn straight? Poor guy! Wow. Broke his collarbone, bit on the LIP by a DOG (what?!), and his hair randomly turned straight?

And McCoy? A BOUNCER? For the ROLLING STONES?! And he didn't get stepped on at all?

And I had no idea Fivey was the youngest. And everyone says that the Doctor keeps getting younger. Not so much, then?

I didn't know the thing about the vortex colours, either. You'd think it would be easy enough to figure out, but for some reason it's not...

That was my reaction as well! I mean, he seems a bit on the short side to be intimidating people as a bouncer. But anybody that stuffs ferrets down his trousers has probably got a bit of stamina...

I knew about the red/blue time vortex thing, but only because RTD mentioned it in Confidential once. I don't think I would have ever worked something like that out myself.

Is it the vortex in the intro sequence or just any clips they show at the beginning of an episode?

I shall be keeping a sharp eye out from now on...

Also, I knew that Hartnell wore a wig but not Troughton! I mean, his wig was just like his real hair. What was the point?

And also... if they were so bothered... why didn't they make him wear a wig in the Two Doctors when his hair was all grey? confused

Just had a thought: Maybe McCoy threatened to shove ferrets down other peoples' trousers if they misbehaved at gigs?

^^The blue/red thing I think refers to time travel within the show proper, not the title sequence (which I don't think ever changes).

#3: Was it a black-out? I thought that they rebroadcast the 1st episode because of the Kennedy assassination.

#10: It was still green in the Pertwee era. When did they actually switch to white anyway?

Somewhere around here I have an old VHS tape I bought used at a Blockbuster's Video. It's the Secret Policeman's Ball, a big show put on as a fundraiser, I think, & if you're patient you will eventually see the road show group Syl was in once upon a time & see his utterly demented act! He was banging nails up his nostrils & all kinds of bizarre vaudevillian insanity! rofl

I'm sure I saw clips of him stuffing ferrets down his trousers in one of the (many) Doctor Who documentaries.

I must start looking up Who documentaries on YouTube... there were a couple of really good ones not long ago!

Blue for back in time, red for forwards? I'm being vaguely reminded of Terry Pratchett's Thief of Time.. This stuff is random..

I find this one interesting: The original title sequence was shot by pointing a TV camera at its own monitor, creating visual feedback.
