Official Form

[Numeral Preference] LXXX
[Gender] Male.
[Age] Teen.
[Base color] White.
[Markings] Light violet.
[Mane] Light navy blue with light yellow tips.
[General Build] Typical lanky teenage boy. whee
[Mutations] Rubbery feather spine things... let's call them quills.
[Personality] Sweet-natured, amiable, trusting.
[Background/History] His trusting and friendly nature made it easy for the scientists to perform experiments on him, and his short-term memory loss ensured that he would not remember the previous day's abuses. Since he has short-term memory loss, however, he's impossible to train - he can't retain commands from day to day. Therefore, he was put into the Handler program, where he can become someone else's problem.
[Additional Mutations] Quills change shape and markings lengthen with age... see Biology.
[Additional Info] ...He loves you heart

-Side Notes

--Fur Length Overall on the long side, with mane and belly fur being the longest. Fur on quills is short.

Attitude

-Most at ease when Alone in his cage with his thoughts. He likes to reflect on the world, since it's repeatedly new to him.
-Ill at ease when A scientist expects him to be able to do something (such as a command) and he has no idea what the person wants him to do.
-Priorities Basics, of course (food, water, etc.), but also to learn as much as he can about the world around him. Granted, he won't remember most (if any) of what he learns, but he still tries.
-Philosophies ...Carpe diem!
-How he feels about himself Pretty good, actually. He just wonders why others think he should know certain things that he's never heard of before, and that can get him upset at himself. (It doesn't last long, of course.)
-If granted one wish, what would it be? It would depend on how he was feeling at the moment. Most likely he'd give it to someone else or use it for someone else's benefit.

Personality

-Greatest strength in personality Very loyal and caring, even to those that he's just met.
-Greatest weakness in personality His amiable nature makes it easy to gain his trust.
-Character's soft spot Individuals in need/new and interesting information.
-Biggest vulnerability Due to his memory loss, he can be fooled easily. The lie would have to have a decent chance of being true, though - he *is* intelligent.

Traits
-Optimist or Pessimist Definitely optimist.
-Introvert or Extrovert ...More of an extrovert.
-Drives and Motivations Ranges from typical basic instinct (hunger, anger, fear, etc.) to personal moral ideas.

Talents
-Extremely skilled at Learning. He's a quick learner.
-Extremely unskilled at Remembering. Which virtually renders nil his talent for learning.
-Good characteristics Intelligent, caring, friendly, eager-to-please, fairly obedient. (I say fairly because he won't let himself be bossed around by Layhr if their morality comes into conflict with his own.)
-Character flaws Can be annoyingly cheerful, if you're one of those angst-types. Can't remember important information (though it's not really his fault). Trusting to the point of endangering his well-being.
-Mannerisms Slightly hyper and almost girly voice. He's a rather effeminate male.
-Peculiarities Fascinated by even the most mundane of happenings.
-Biggest regret If he knew about it, it would be that he has short-term memory loss. Otherwise, he doesn't have one.
-Character's darkest secret He wouldn't know even if he had one.

Self-Perception

-One word your character would use to describe himself Friendly!
-Paragraph your character would use to describe himself Well, um... I'm friendly, and I try to help others... And I love exploring new places! -tail wag-
-What does he consider to be his best physical characteristic? He likes his fur. Nice and soft!
--His worst? Claws, maybe? They're hard and pointy... and he can't sheathe them.
---Are these realistic assessments? Could be.
-How does he feel about the way others perceive him? He just wants to know why sometimes others are mad at him for forgetting something that he just has no knowledge of.
-If your character could change three things about himself, what would they be?
1) Retractable/duller claws.
2) ...um?
3) If he knew about it, he'd get rid of his memory loss.
-If these changes were made, would he really be as happy as he thinks? Probably. He's a pretty happy guy already, so...

Interrelation With Others

-How does this character relate with others He loves them! Or at least tries to befriend them.
-How is he perceived by...?
--Strangers? Unusually optimistic and upbeat for a scientific experiment. Naïve, perhaps silly. Very friendly, doesn't seem to understand anger or fear.
---Friends? He doesn't have friends...
----Mate? He doesn't have a mate.
-What do family and friends like most about him? He's friendly and eager-to-please.
-What do family and friends like least about him? He can't remember anything (like names, etc.) from one day to the next.

Goals

-Immediate goals Basics (food, shelter, etc.) and to keep occupied.
-Long-term goals Doesn't have any. (He wouldn't remember them...)
-How will he achieve these goals? The scientists can provide most of what he needs, but just in case, he can always poke around for excitement...

Problem/Crisis
-How he reacts in a crisis He'll freak out a little at first, but once he collects himself, he'll try to remedy the situation and help in any way possible.
-How he faces problems He'll try to use his intellect to figure out a solution, but if it's too tough, he'll seek help.
-How he reacts to change He may be wary of it at first, but it's never long before he forgets how things were before and accepts the change as the way things have always been.

Backstory

Creation There was no specific purpose for his 'birth'. He was just another typical result of GeNtech's Project: LAYHR.
Experimentation It was quickly discovered that, no matter what sort of horrific testing he endured, he was always eager to 'take a walk' with any of the scientists - even the ones who had just experimented on him the previous day. He never showed any sign of resentment or fear towards any of the staff - scientists and guards alike - instead displaying towards all the sort of undying affection shown by common dogs.
Training Not long after testing began the attempt to train him. He appeared to be quite intelligent, picking up the meanings of any command given him very quickly. Within six hours, he had learned all basic commands and was deemed ready to begin advanced training the next day. However, when advanced training was to begin, he could not repeat the commands he had learned just yesterday. It did not appear intentional, as he looked genuinely confused and whined softly when the scientists berated him for not complying with their commands. He was taught the commands a second time, again learning them with speedily, but their efforts were in vain. No matter how many times he was trained, he could never repeat his lessons the following day.

Roleplaying

Clack... clack... clack... Only the sound of claws on polished tile could be heard echoing throughout the otherwise silent hallways. The rooms to either side of the scientist and the Layhr accompanying him were either shut off or dark and devoid of movement. Not that it particularly mattered to the Layhr, as he was focused on keeping up with the pace of the scientist, who was apparently in a hurry. To where, the Layhr did not know -- he did not remember these halls, nor did he recall the status of the man in the white coat leading him. All he knew was that this human-creature was taking him out for a walk, which he was grateful for. Subject LXXX loved to go out on walks and take in all of the fascinating new sights...
A sudden shriek the likes of which his ears had never picked up before brought LXXX to a sudden halt. What... what could possibly create such an unearthly noise? The choker collar tightened its grip on his throat, and the Layhr was forced to once again move forward, his step a little less confident. He glanced up at the scientist, but the human-creature had either not heard the ghastly cry or was unperturbed by it. Shivering inwardly, the Layhr tried to forget this small incident by counting the floor tiles he was passing, but another sound -- a second, higher-pitched shriek, followed by some dull thuds, a crash, and then a hollow moan -- made him snap up his head again. The noise was hideous; he feared it greatly, yet a gnawing curiosity began to infect him. Just what was all this, anyway? LXXX increased his pace to surpass that of the scientist's, forcing the mildly surprised man to increase his stride. Light streamed out onto the tile from a slightly ajar door up ahead... was that room the source? Straining against his restraint, the Layhr managed to pull the scientist across the corridor and nose the door open a little wider.
The first thing to make itself known to him was an odd, sickly odor. Surely, the room was full of strange smells, but this scent... it made his stomach churn. As soon as his eyes fully adjusted to the light of the room, he realized what was creating such an odor, as well as what was -- or had been -- the cause of the various noises earlier. A rather pretty-looking female Layhr was strapped down to a table surrounded by more scientists. Her mane was disheveled and her jaws were held open by some strange sort of device, which one of the human-creatures was in the process of removing. She was lying very still on that table, and if it hadn't been for the scent and the fact that her eyes were open, LXXX would have assumed she was simply asleep and would have passed on by without a second thought. Circumstances were different, however, and he struggled his way into the room, nearly choking himself on the constrictive collar. Yes... those eyes... there was certainly something very wrong with her eyes. LXXX couldn't quite place what exactly the matter was with them, but the fact remained that a little nerve in the back of his mind was filling him with the utmost horror and revulsion at the sight of them. The other white-coated beings in the room had finally noticed his intrusion into their affairs and tried to shoo him away with clipboards and data sheets. His handler scientist, too, was pulling him back, and the Layhr was forced to retreat before his oxygen supply was completely cut off. As soon as he had been fully expelled from the room, it was shut securely, hiding all answers from his questioning mind. LXXX looked up at the scientist beside him again, fear shining in his eyes, but the human-creature paid no attention to him and began briskly walking to wherever their destination was. Reluctantly, the Layhr trailed behind, his mind tortured with the thought of that room.

The next day, the Subject LXXX was led out into the halls again. He nearly bounced alongside the scientist leading him, eager to explore and take in all the fascinating new sights...

Biology

Markings
Face - Diamond between eyes, southern tip stretching down muzzle. Not much change from teen to adult except for slight widening as muzzle gets bigger. (Eastern and western tips stretch across eyes and form curves that slope towards chin from adult to full.)
Throat - V shape directly under throat. Elongates to mid-chest from teen to adult. (Elongates down to bottom of rib cage from adult to full.)
Ears/Quills/Mane - Simple tips. Ear/quill tips elongate to half-length, mane tips elongate to full length from teen to adult. (Length elongates to three-quarter length for ear/quill tips, mane tips remain the same length from adult to full.)
Quills
Flexibility - The quills are extremely flexible and can bend flat against themselves without causing injury.
Motion - Limited muscular control can be exerted over the quills. Shoulder/hip quills can be moved either up/down or side/side, while ankle quills can only be moved up/down. Quills cannot be moved separately -- they must all be moved as a set. When frightened, quills are set to their lowest point, and when elated, they are set to their highest.
Structure - There are no bones within the quills. They are attached to their corresponding bones by way of thin ligaments and muscles. Quills cannot be plucked off like feathers, as such an action would pull the skin and muscles.
Shape - Quills change shape from teen to adult, gaining a more 'lion-fish quill' appearance. They also lengthen from teen to adult (and from adult to full).
