Another relatively unknown band I recently discovered (This time through Music Choice) that have great potential. Cellador is Power Metal/Melodic Metal (The latter would probably be more fitting right now) band from Omaha, Nebraska. Formed in Summer 2004 by Guitarist Chris Petersen with the intent of spreading European style Power/Speed metal to the Midwest and eventually the US, where the style is either non-existent or not well known. Cellador spent most of 2004 and early 2005 writing and creating songs getting ready to go live. In March 2005, they finally went live and in May 2005, they released their demo, which would also become their first single: Leaving All Behind. This demo caught the notice of Brian Slagel, owner and founder of Metal Blade Records who signed them to have Metal Blade's first Power Metal signing in years. In June 2006, Cellador released their debut album: Enter Deception. Cellador has been on tour with bands such as Trivium, Sonata Artica and Kreator. Recently both their bass player and drummer left the band. The bass player has been replaced, but they are still searching for a new drummer.

It is also interesting to note that the members of Cellador are very young (All are age 23 or less), their former drummer: David Dahir, was only 17 years old at the time he parted with the band (I think he was like 14 or 15 when he joined the band).

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Years Active: 2004-Present

Personnel:

Michael Gremio: Vocals
Bill Hudson: Guitar
Chris Petersen: Guitar
Mika Horiuchi: Bass

Former Members:

David Dahir: Drums
Valentin Rakhmanov: Bass

Discography:

Leaving All Behind (Demo) - 2005
Enter Deception - 2006

Videos:

Michael's voice is very high pitched, almost falsetto, however higher pitched vocals are very common in Power Metal. This also isn't the best song out there, if I can find a video for Never Again, I will post it.

You seem to like X-Japan alot. Are they a J-Rock band?

yeah, j-rock/visual kei and one of the best bands to ever come out of japan. they disbanded a few years ago and hide, their guitarist died in 1998 i think. you should check them out, although a lot of their stuff is ballads, there is a sorted of melodic rock, maybe even power metal-ish sound to them
