Who loves cosplay? I LOVE to create costumes and wear them proudly at conventions, but I also LOVE seeing what others create! It's so exciting to see someone dressed up as a character you like! 4laugh From what I've seen online, DearS cosplay is super rare! That's sad. sad I've only seen a small few pictures online. Has anyone else seen DearS cosplays? Please feel free to share pictures you have taken or found of people in DearS costumes! heart

As some of you may know, I've been working on a Nia costume. This is actually a large reason why I'm not online as much as I used to be (besides working a full time job). I've been cosplaying for several years now, always picking characters with large hats or hair for some reason. sweatdrop I chose Nia because I love her personality and I felt it was a costume that would challenge me yet not be impossible. However, I had no idea that it would be THE MOST DIFFICULT costume I had ever made. eek I'm still working on it now, and I need to have it finished for Jacon, which is the first weekend in May. gonk But I'll do it; don't worry. wink
At the suggestion of Crazo, I have been taking pictures of my cosplay progress with the Nia costume (and another costume, which might not be done in time. x_x). After the convention, I want to post the pictures and describe how I made the costume parts. I was going to make a webpage for it, but I might do it here instead, since you guys are all DearS fans. ^_^v As always, I will do a mini photo shoot once the costume is completed. If you guys would like to see it, I'll post the pictures here, or I could just post a link to them once I have them taken & uploaded.
Your thoughts, questions and ideas are 100% welcome! I also will accept criticism, even if it upsets me (since I worked so freaking hard on this costume). If I get enough negative criticism, I won't share the pictures here. 3nodding So, be NICE! scream mrgreen

Well like ZoZo-Dono, I've been working on a few costumes too but for a different convention and most likley different characters, and I'll aso update with progress reports and the characters they came from. Costume 1 Kisuke Uruhara (A.K.A. Mr. Hat-and-Clogs) from Bleach For this one I hve the hat, fan, cane, and outer part of the kimono thingy(can't remember exactly what it's called sweatdrop ) Costue 2 Yamato from Naruto I have everything but the heaband (shop teacher won't let me make it and has started following me around to make sure crying ) Costue 3 (Personaly my favorite) Alex from Golden Sun 1 & 2 I have the shirt, pants, belt, cape, and the nunchuk-looking-things, but I can't find a wig the right color but I have found dye so I'm probably gonna do that

I'd be happy to find one for you (I'm the wig-finder for my friends ^_^v)! Above all, make sure you have pictures taken when you have the costumes done!!! heart mrgreen

Awww...you looks so adorible! But, if I may be a bit of a cridic, there were just two problem in your cross playing. Problem 1 can't be helped. Of corse, no one, not even me and my stick person body, could get Nia figure right...it's her freakin' legs! How she keeps her thighs that skiny is beond me! But other then that, the outfit did look good on you, you're face seems a bit similar to hers. Problem 2 was probably only caused to avoid crossing the line between cool/cute and minnor skimitube. At the legs, at the tops where the orange and white meet, there should be a hole about half a fingure's distance. But, I wouldn't even want a hole there. Sorry if this kinda hurt, I'm a bit cruel sometimes when I pick at minnor detales.

I expected you would point out my flaws. I'm surprised you missed one, though. whee
First, let me say "cross playing" is when a male dresses as a female or vice-versa. I know you meant cosplay, but I don't want anyone to wonder if I'm actually a boy. Which, it should be obvious, I am not. If I was, I'd probably have a better time cosplaying the thin-as-a-rail Nia. sweatdrop
Yes, I do not have a figure like Nia's. It was a major factor in what almost made me give up on cosplaying her. But, I might not ever cosplay again. So I wanted to do something fun and challenging. No one had any complaints at the convention, and I didn't get called "fat" or anything (at least that I heard). So I think I made the right decision in going ahead with my little dream to cosplay her. I do appreciate the compliments you lended me. It made me feel better than the critique of my art. emo
Ah, I think I know what you mean. Originally, I was going to hem the white outfit shorter so that the slit of thigh/skin would show through. But I ran out of time. Also, my hemming is not as flawless as factory hemming, so I figured it would be smarter to leave the elasticity of the hem that was already there.
Nope; didn't hurt. I'm less sensitive about my cosplay. I guess because I get a lot of praise for it, so I feel it's fairly good. redface However, as I said, I won't be doing it much more, if ever, again. If my figure was better, I would have been Ren instead.

Wow, that's pretty good 3nodding and it realy does look like Nia 3nodding , and I'm stuck sweatdrop My parent's said I can either go to GenCon or to Project Revolution, and I'm having a major dilema. On one hand I can go to the bigest convention in Indiana but on the other hand I can go see Linkin Park, the greatest band in existance.

Thank you, Vincent! *Pets your hat and gives you a brownie!* Aww~! Gosh, that's a tough decision! Anime conventions are a truly unique experience, and no two seem to be the same. Normally, I would be pushing for the anime convention, but in this case... Well, there will always be more anime conventions. But how many other opportunities will you have to see Linkin Park? Especially as fond of them as you are.
Though I am a huge fan of anime cons, I think you should go to the concert and plan to go to another anime con in the future. 3nodding

*eats the brownie* Yea I was leaning towards LP cause it's probably gonna be a couple years before they come anywhere near Indy again, and it'll give me more time to work on my costumes 3nodding
