Name: Choco'la
Nickname: Choco
Sex: Male
Age: appears 17 (is actually much older, being 2nd Gen)
Type: Master of Events
Species: Orpheus
Position: Uke
Personality: Energetic / fiesty
Ability:

  • Planner : Choco'la has heightened intuition. He's able to see flashes of things before they happen. It's especially strong if he touches an object. It's a budding ability, and with care can become a great ability in the future. If he doesn't work with it, the ability could have strange uncontrolled psychic side effects.

Turn ons: Pretty clothes, massages, PDAs.
Turn offs: Laziness, disorganisation, egos.
Looks: Choco'la appears to be very young and cheerful - not entirely wrong, though he is often mistaken as younger than he truly is. He stands at around 5'4" and is very slender. Choco dresses in his own Oriental style (though the hem of his robes is much, much shorter than is traditional), preferring black and dark red for his work wear as they stain less easily. Long brown hair is pulled up in two Chinese buns, though his bangs still get in his face. He wears dangling jewellery and accessories, and is never seen without a clipboard or PDA. Recently, he has developed small white wings on his back.

Education: Choco'la has no formal education, though he has had training in planning and managing events. He's also familiar with a lot of electronic systems and with computers (especially PDAs) in general.
Occupation: The self-titled "Master of Events", Choco works as an event planner/organiser/manager. He has his own Personal Assisstant but otherwise has no staff or proper business of his own - his reputation is enough for people to hire him to manage other hired help (though he prefers the authority to hire his own workers, so he can be sure he's working with the best).
Marital status: single
Family: none
Diction/accent: No real trace of an accent, but Choco clips his words if he's angry and tends to run all his words together when overly excited.
Relationships: Nothing worth mentioning, unless you count his long-suffering Personal Assistant, Kiryn.
Sexual history: None, unless you count being harrassed by morons with egos inversely proportional to their intelligence who seem to have confused exactly what a Master of Events is there for >.<
Places: Choco'la lives in the city area of Elysium. He travels around the urbanised areas for events all over the city and lives in an "upper class" area.
Possessions: Clipboard (of DOOM), PDA, dangling jewellery and lots of fancy clothes.

Hobbies: In his rare time off, Choco likes shopping, dancing and attending theatre/other events (it's enjoyable and also lets him know what the competition is doing >:3 ). He also likes to relax by taking long, hot baths while listening to music.

Obsessions: Everything Will Be Organised! Choco is quite obsessive about living and working in tidy, organised places. Everything must be where he left it and able to be easily found.

Beliefs: Choco believes that everyone should be happy. He thinks it would solve a lot of problems, and that making people happy is an important job. Therefore he loves to co-ordinate large events and galas - parties, concerts and so on - and gets very upset if people dismiss his work or the effects of what he does.

Politics: Too busy to bother with politics, if Choco is forced to pick a side, he'll choose whatever is best for business. He doesn't like people who think that parties and concerts are frivilous and ought to be cut back on, for instance.

Ambitions: Choco would like be to be known for organising the best event in the world. He wants to create something so wonderful that everyone will hear of it and remember it.

Religion: None, unless you count technology as a religion. Insulting his beloved tools (what would he do without a PA system, computers, speakers, amplifiers, lighting?!) receives much the same reaction as insulting a religious person's deity.

Superstitions: If the rehearsal goes well, something horribly bad is going to go wrong when the actual event takes place >.> And on the other hand, if everything that can go wrong, does, then he's obviously working with a bunch of morons and the event will still be a disaster.

Fears: Although he tries not to let it show, Choco is actually very scared of physically imposing people. Short and slender, he's no match physically, and isn't even all that fast in his elaborate get-ups. Choco does his best to match physical threats with either his charm or I-am-Master-of-Events-and-you-will-obey-me voice, but it isn't uncommon for him to freeze when threatened before summoning the courage to try either of his alternatives. He is more confident when in a realm he considers 'safe', such as work where he is obviously in charge. Altercations in other arenas (such as mostly-abandoned public areas) are more likely to engage his "deer caught in the headlights" response.

Attitude: Energetic and bubbly, Choco is often mistaken for an innocent child or someone who can be walked over. Choco will be the first to set this misconception straight - he's used to being in charge and has no qualms about throwing his (figurative) weight around. He can be very fiesty if people try to subvert his authority on the job - but this rarely happens with people who've worked with him before, so the majority of the time Choco is quite charismatic. Words are his weapons and he uses them to sweet talk, cajole or flat out order others to get his way. Very busy, he can sometimes be confused as hyperactive. He handles stress well and is quite strong mentally.

Taste in books/music/etc: Choco likes nearly all kinds of music, as long as everything's in tune and isn't deliberately (or accidentally) screeching / twanging / cringe-worthy. Rock and pop are lots of fun to dance to, or work him into a good, energetic mood. When trying to relax, he loves softer, more classical tracks. While he doesn't have anything against books, Choco really doesn't have much time for them either. And really, wouldn't it be more convenient to store it all in one computer, rather than hoarding so many thick bundles of paper?

Foods: It must be said that Choco loves his snacks and instant foods. Part of it is necessity, as he really doesn't have much free time to cook. But he also does love to snack on junk food while working, especially pocky and lolipops. His favourite foods are those that are a source of caffeine or energy, such as chocolate, energy drinks and things with a high sugar content. He's slightly envious of people who have the time to cook or eat gourmet meals, and wouldn't mind being treated to them every so often... but not this week, okay, he has so much to do! Raincheck?

Handwriting: For his own personal notes, Choco writes in a loopy, messy scrawl. For event notes or official things, his writing is still loopy/cursive, but still easily readable... even if it has prompted comments that his writing is more fancy or elaborate than is necessary.

Astrological sign: Aquarius

Talents:

History: Born in Imperial at Ogre's Lab, Choco moved to Elysium at a young age in search of a livlier city and better technology. A true city brat, he was always on the look out for better and brighter, and the grass was looking much greener over on Elysium. From a young age, he learned to use his charm and charisma to get what he wanted. His natural exuberance and good cheer made him an easily hirable employee, though Choco found most of these easily acquired jobs (such as waitering) too boring and bland to stay with them for long.

Eventually, Choco found himself apprenticed to an event organiser. Acting as a personal assistant, Choco found himself immersed in the world of planning, choreographing, bright lights and calming the temper tantrums of drama queens...er, kings. And, surprisingly, he loved it. What's more, Choco'la was good at it! With his silken tongue and bright smiles, he could charm celebrities and stubborn workers alike, making his master's job a lot easier.

As time went by, his master was forced to admit that Choco's skills and reputation rivalled his own, and so Choco'la 'graduated' and went into business for himself.

Current: Much to his dismay, Choco is currently taking an enforced break from work. On a high after his last successful concert, Choco was looking forward to starting a new project, however his PA Kiryn was not such a workaholic and demanded that Choco take a break. Refusing, Choco found himself minus a PA, who took a vacation, ensuring that Choco himself would be unable to work (being so picky about who he worked with and not wanting to deal with an 'untrained' PA). Choco is Not Happy and is going slightly stir-crazy... while still looking at jobs so he can jump right back into work when Kiryn gets back. Choco is counting down the days, hours and minutes...

Kiryn
Choco'la's Personal Assisstant of several years, Kiryn is probably the closest thing to family Choco has. A cross between mothering figure and long-suffering elder brother, Kiryn tries to look out for Choco and ensure that the dou gets enough food, sleep and time off... Though he generally fails at the last.

In his early 20's, Kiryn is one of the outnumbered humans left in the world. Tall and dark-haired, Kiryn isn't imposing enough to threaten Choco, but his presence can be enough of a deterrant to some of Choco's ardent (and unwanted) pursuers.

User ImageRelenchas / Chas
One of the first people Choco has met outside work, Chas put Choco immediately at ease. Despite a slightly intimidating appearence (to Choco, at least) Chas proved to be calm, polite and courteous. The two seemed to get along well, even with Choco bringing up some unpleasant memories. Choco has promised to return to Chas' tea shop to visit, as Chas is reluctant to leave. The two were reunited in Imperial at the Mage Academy, and both managed to survive the destruction caused by Fontchrist's initial storms.

Rethelust / Lust
The twin brother of Chas, Lust seems to like harrassing Choco on the few occasions they've met. Choco is unnerved by Lust, and a bit scared of him. He tries to be civil, if only because Chas asked him to be nice to his brother. Lust is currently missing, which worries Chas, which in turn worries Choco.

Asiago
Choco's guide around the Academy, when he was hired by Manen. Choco found Asia to be very helpful and polite, and enjoyed speaking with the other dou. He's also very grateful to Asiago for saving his life with the shields Asia created to protect the survivors of the Academy from Fontchrist's storms.

Shen Long
The dragon god, whom Choco ended up having tea with once. Choco was of course completely out of his depth and a bit freaked out by the idea of meeting gods - whom he hadn't previously believed in.

Shiro
Another dragon, son of Shen Long, who bought Choco tea. Choco thought Shiro was the friendliest (and closest to normal) of the group.

Note to self: Kill Kiryn when he returns. Dump body @ docks. Claim innocence & cry a lot - Kir says me crying = instant free pass. Could be useful for once.

I woke up at the usual time this morning - some "ungodly hour", as several of my slacker workers have been known to say. Halfway through getting dressed for work I remembered that there is no work. Stupid Kiryn. So I sat around for an hour, pretending to eat breakfast (something very sugary, hah, take that, Kiryn!) and trying to think of something to do today. I feel lost... I want to work!

Checked my email. Several requests for jobs had arrived. Some looked very appealing and without meaning to I found myself swept away with visions of soft lights, classical string music, light hors d'eurves... Only I can't work, can I? Stupid Kiryn. He's in for hell when he finally gets back.

... I think I'll go shopping and catch a musical. Might as well see what the competition (ha, I use the term loosely) is doing. And then I'll be better than ever when I go back to work. Yosh! 4laugh

The barely-familiar melody of birdsong dragged Choco'la out of a comforting blanket of darkness. Muttered curses could be heard eminating from a nest of sheets on a bed much larger than its small inhabitant. "G'way," a slender hand emerged and batted around, as though in search of an alarm.

Rolling over, the lump was once again still. The birdsong continued, unrepentant, and soon the curses began again, louder this time. Sunlight streaming through the curtains indicated that it was far past the time this workaholic was normally up and bustling around. Even during this enforced 'vacation', Choco had held to his preferred habits. This sloth-like bahviour was highly unusual for the chirpy Dou...

What did I do last night? Choco hazily wondered. Green eyes opened to blink in confusion, but otherwise he remained still. He'd seen a musical - ha, with barely competent direction and planning - then eaten dinner, alone, and wondered why everyone made such a big fuss about him never going out. Out didn't seem very enjoyable. Maybe he'd needed company? Hmph, or maybe just work! Stumbling home, he'd felt so tired, so lethargic... He'd thought it simply a side effect of his unwilling idleness. Even his favourite form of relaxation, a hot bath, had been skipped in favour of curling up in bed.

"Ugh, enough lying around," he encouraged himself. "Up, up, up!"

Feeling just slightly better than the one time his master had let him try alcohol, Choco pushed himself into a seated position on the edge of the bed. A small whine left his lips as he realised how well and truly he'd crushed the clothes he'd been wearing the day before. These fabrics were just not made for sleeping in! And they probably smelled fairly bad now, too, he thought, wrinkling his nose.

Undoing the obi around his waist, Choco seized the bottom of his tunic and pulled upwards. Sudden darkness, and the fabric wasn't moving. Not fond of having clothes stuck over his head, Choco tugged harder. It felt like the material was catching on something... something at the back...

Finally free (with an undigified tumble onto the floor), Choco threw the tunic in the direction of the laundry basket and let the underrobe slide from his shoulders before peering around at his back. Emerald eyes blinked once, twice, three times.

"I'm going back to sleep," Choco pouted, not enthused at suddenly having tiny white wings floating less than an inch from his back. This vacation was turning out to be a disaster. Stupid Kiryn was so dead when he got back.

((I luffs them though. And give Choco time.))

RP3: 27/07 ~ Chas

The afternoon was bright today. Heavy sunshine, the kind that encouraged napping, poured in through the windows and splashed across the warm wood that decorated most of the bar. There were very few customers today, probably because the day was so nice...but then, if Chas hadn't committed to the responsibility of the shop, he'd be napping too. Maybe...if some time went by eithout customers, he'd go nap in the hammock he had claimed in his brother's shop. For now, though, he sat curled in one of his sofas, reading a thick book and attempting to not yawn.

It was this kind of heat that made Choco'la regret having several layers of clothing to his outfit. Having set out on another day of 'exploring', in order to relieve his boredom, he'd changed his mind as the sun rose further and the temperature rose. Like he hadn't been lethargic enough lately - manifesting wings seemed to eat up all his energy.

Spying a rather cute-looking tea shop as he walked, Choco decided it was time for a break. And a sugar hit.

He entered and looked around. "What a nice atmosphere," he said to himself, taking in the soft music and windchimes. Although he loved his technology, Choco was a huge fan of relaxing after stressful days. And this kind of gentle, refined ambiance was the kind of thing some of his clients liked for smaller gatherings. Hmm, this was something to keep in mind then.

Choco didn't often have the time for places like these and was a bit confused as to the procedure of such places. Did he take a seat, or order at the bar... which was missing a host. Blinking, feeling a bit lost, he approached the closest person - a light-haired male reading a book on a sofa.

"Um, hello," he smiled tentatively. "Do you know how I'd order something?" And hopefully get a menu, too. There had to be something sweet available here.

Chas tilted his head slightly, patiently getting to the end of his paragraph before marking his place and uncurling his long legs. He raised his head, sharp eyes taking in his visitor, before replying with a slight bow of his head. His mannerisms were gracious, polite.

"I would be pleased to offer my services. Did you have something particular in mind?" The man stood as he spoke, moving gracefully to retrieve a parchment menu from the bar. "I have a rather wide selection of teas and pastries, if you've nothing in mind. I even have a few varieties of coffee- I'm not particularly fond of it, I'm afraid."

Choco relaxed as the man spoke. The horn had made him a little wary, but it seemed like this person - the owner - was actually very nice and polite.

"Oh, thank you," Choco beamed as he accepted the menu. "Uh, I really don't know that much about teas," he admitted with a blush. "Can you recommend something for someone with a sweet tooth?"

The only tea he ever really drank, on occasion, was green tea. But that was more in formal situations and with his master.

"I'm not one for coffee, either." Chocolate was more his style if he needed caffeine hit, but sugar normally sufficed. "But the pastries sound nice," he added.

A gleam of laughter entered the somber man's eyes, merry against his quiet demeanor. "I...see," he murmured, and briskly hopped the bar to pull a cup and a small tea ball from a nearby set of hooks. "How about...something suitable for teacakes? I have a fresh batch, just finished about an hour ago."

After placing a careful amount of random-appearing herbs into the teaball and dropping it gently into the cup with near-boiling water, Chas reached behind him to pull a tray from another cabinet. It held an array of small cakes, decorated in various colors with tiny icing flowers. "Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, mint, orange, and lemon. Take your pick."

Choco's entire demeanour lit up at the mention of teacakes. Sugar hit, yay! "Tea cakes sound wonderful," he enthused.

With a bounce in his step, he followed Chas to the bar and watched him work. It looked complex, adding herbs and things manually. How very intriguing - so very different from the vending machines Choco's work demands caused him to use most of the time.

Offering Choco'la a tray of cakes was like asking him to pick a favourite style of music. There were just so many. "Ummm... they all look so good," he said as he studied the arrangement. His bottom lip substituted for cake as he ummed and aahed, nibbling away as he thought. "Strawberry?" he eventually said, not sure he was making the right decision. He'd always loved berry flavours, though.

"Did you make them yourself?" he asked, wondering what it must be like to have the time to try things like that. "Oh, I'm so rude," Choco blushed, hand flying to his mouth. "I'm Choco'la. It's nice to meet you." He gave a quick half-bow. Manners were always important in Choco's business, especially on first meetings.

"I am called Relenchas, or just Chas," the man laughed, bowing slightly in a decidedly out-of-country fashion. "And yes, I make everything myself. This was a hobby once, that has turned into something to keep me busy- it is a pleasure to meet any new customer, particularly one so enthusiastic." He scrutinized the plate again, nodding once and placing three cakes on a small plate.

"Strawberry is good, particularly with vanilla and mint. Try those first, and then we can see about the others, hmm?" He stated cheerfully, putting the tray back where it belonged. One expert gesture finished readying the tea, and he arranged cup, saucer, and plate neatly on a tray before sliding it across the counter. One hand gestured to the seating area the man had been nested in, which was still empty of people. "Please, join me, Today has been very quiet, so far."

With a quick nod, Choco carried his plate and tea over to the sofa Chas had indicated. "I'd love to," he answered. "It's rare that I get to meet new people - well, outside of work anyway -" and that got a small grimace since the people he met there were mostly prima donnas or short-tempered perfectionists, "- especially not ones so charming and polite."

Taking a seat, Choco began to nibble on the strawberry cake. After the first bite, he paused and flashed Chas a smile that lit up his being. "This is wonderful! You're very talented."

Reaching for the tea cup, green eyes glazed over slightly as Choco picked it up. 'Not sweet enough, he decided, a ghostly echo of the tea's flavour in his mouth. Saking his head slightly, Choco dismissed the vision and a small satchel of sugar was quickly added. Giving a slightly embarrassed chuckle, Choco explained, "I kinda need a sugar hit. One part addiction, one part lack of energy."

His host smiled, curling back up in the corner he had been nesting in when Choco arrived. "That is perfectly alright," he assured, brushing a strand of hair back behind his ear where it belonged. "That particular blend of tea is well-suited to as much sweetening as one might prefer."

After this comment, Chas took a moment to study his guest, nodding slightly as he came to a conclusion. The look in his eyes for just that moment...Chas had taught magic for a long, long time. "I thought I had heard your name before. You have orchestrated many events recently, correct? My brother has been attempting to get me out of the house with tales of your glorious endeavours." A touch of amusement entered his tone, slightly exasperated. "I am not, unfortunately, a fan of crowds."

"Really?" Blinking repeatedly, Choco appeared momentarily stunned. A slow smile appeared on his face - not as energetic as the ones before, but somehow infinitely more pleased. "You've heard of me? And your brother, too?"

It was his dream to become well-known, to create an event that everyone would remember (both the event and the name of Choco'la). Sometimes he wasn't sure just how far his reputation was spreading, if it was only among the select crowd that threw ad attended such events.

"Sorry," Choco apologised, realising he was most likely coming off like a kid at a party. "You must think I'm pretty young, but," he turned earnest eyes on Chas, "it just really makes me happy to think that I can create things that make people so happy. It's important, you know? People should be happy more often."

Which was probably also a childish sentiment, but there was nothing to help that now.

"I don't mind crowds so much, but I'm not as social as everything seems to think I am," he admitted, stirring his tea before sipping at the steaming liquid. "It's all get up early, work, go home late, sleep, repeat cycle... I don't have time to go out, or meet people, not really." Except for now. Stupid Kiryn.

"My brother hears about most everything eventually," Chas laughed, resting his head on one hand. "Lust keeps one ear to the streets and one to the skies. I'd be frightfully surprised if he hadn't heard of anyone, really- I sometimes hear news from him faster than I see it in the papers."

He brushed off Choco's enthusiasm, though, and sat back with his own cup of tea. "Think nothing of it. I have seen many individuals less enthusiastic than yourself, and for far less interesting reasons. The pursuit of happiness- even that of another- is an excellent goal."

He looked wise for just a moment, before looking away with a small frown. "It is my turn to ask forgiveness. I was a teacher for many, many years...sometimes I forget I am no longer in a classroom."

Chas had a brother called... Lust? Choco blinked and then decided that, no, he didn't really want to ask.

Choco settled back as Chas complimented his dream. Knowing that he wasn't being judged was enough to relax him, encouraging him to return to his sampling of cakes and tea. "Well, it makes me happy," he said. "I like my work and I like pulling off successful events. I guess I'm just lucky that what makes me happy is doing things that make other happy..."

It was very easy to imagine Chas as a teacher, Choco thought. The older dou was calm and serious, but tolerant. They'd be important qualities for a teacher. "Did you like being a teacher?" he asked. "What sort of things did you teach?"

It was the logical next question, but it still hurt to hear it and Chas instantly regretted bringing it up. Memories of teaching brought back memories of thew North, magic, his father...all things he had lost when Imperial fell. The loneliness alone had nearly been enough to make him give up...but that was over now that he had found his brother again, and he had learned to deal with the loss. "I was a Master of Water at the Northern Mage Academy, before the magic faded away and Vestralle was destroyed."

His voice was quiet, but it was an old wound. "I'm afraid I have nothing to teach, here. Though I have studied this place as much as I can, it makes little sense to me. I decided opening the shop was the easiest way to survive unscathed."

Even before Chas spoke up, Choco knew the question had been a mistake. For someone who always spoke so politely, Chas was very good at expressing his emotions in other ways... And that made Choco feel worse than if someone had just yelled or snapped.

"I'm... really sorry," he said softly. "I don't remember much about Imperial, but it always seemed like a nice place."

Tilting his head to the side, Choco felt lost. He wasn't really used to consoling others and didn't know much about magic either. Why, oh why, didn't his stupid 'gift' ever warn him about important situations like this? Surely it was more important to spare someone's feelings than to know a few seconds ahead of time what food and drink would taste like.

"It is busier here," he agreed with Chas, leaning towards the other dou, hoping his words would make sense. "And the people don't really seem to know what they've got, or how lucky they are... But I don't think it's a bad place." He smiled. "I think you've created a wonderful shop. But... don't get angry?" he asked, flashing puppy dog eyes. "The person who taught me, here on Elysium, always told me that there's only so much you can learn from study. Sometimes you just have to go out and do something."

Hoping he hadn't crossed any lines, Choco sat back and rubbed his neck. "But that was also about me learning my trade, so maybe it's not quite the same..."

After a hesitant moment, Chas gave Choco a lopsided smile and took a deep breath. "You are correct. This is something I myself have said on many occasions...this place is intimidating, I fear." He reached out and patted his earnest young guest on the shoulder, tossing his hair back over his shoulder and shaking off the mood. "I appreciate your concern- and regret causing it. I have been quite fortunate, and it is not proper for me to focus so strongly on what I have lost."

The once-mage stood, smiling a bit and moving back to the counter. "Would you like more tea, or more of the cakes? I fear they will go bad if they are not eaten, since the custom is so slow today."

"Oh, sure," Choco replied after a few moments pause, realising Chas had asked a question. Not many people touched Choco (apart from the lecherous grabby types he'd dealt with through work in the past). At work - and he was always at work - he was The Boss, always on the move, around people who already had their hands full. And he had to admit, he did worry that it might set off his gift... something he didn't need happening at work.

Watching Chas move around the shop, Choco held a silent debate with himself. He wanted to make Chas feel better. Despite the reassurances, Choco knew from personal experience that just because you should feel a certain thing (or not feel it), didn't make it easy to do. "The things we go through always feel big to us," he murmured. "No matter what anyone else thinks."

Wings twitching as leaned forward, Choco decided it couldn't hurt to offer. "You know... I kind of can't work for a while." The small circular movements of his foot held his attention, internal butterflies matching the movements of his wings. "My PA thinks I work too hard, and took a vacation, so I'm stuck doing nothing for a while. I've sort of been doing a bit of sight-seeing, since I don't know much apart from event locations around here." Emerald eyes slid sideways to peer at Chas. "If you thought it'd be easier to look around if you had company... you're welcome to join me."

Aaaand eyes firmly back on the feet again. It was strange how Choco could stand up to drama kings at work, yet still be so shy anywhere else.

Completely taken aback, the tall Dou turned back to his guest in utter surprise. Like this, the youthfullness of his features was startlingly apparent- beyond the mask of his wise stature and position, Chas was generally a rather lonely individual. Leaning back against the counter, he played with the end of his ponytail and carefully considered the offer. So selflessly given...such kindness was impossibly rare.

"I appreciate the offer," he said softly, once he'd reclaimed his voice. "I am not one to travel in this place, nor do I frequently accompany others...but I do know how much it took for you to offer, and I appreciate that...more than you know."

Head bowed, he frowned at the ends of his hair for a moment before continuing. "To be honest, Choco, I have always been quite solitary. When Vestralle fell, I lost my twin for quite some time, and I was quite hopeless without him. I am lost when it comes to dealing with people, other than students or fellow teachers- perhaps I always have been. I would, however," and he raised his head again, hesitance coloring his eyes a deeper shade, "enjoy your company if you were to stop by again. Perhaps bring me the stories of what you find? I have...always enjoyed collecting stories."

Glancing up to find Chas playing with his hair, Choco gave a small smile, butterflies settling. At least Chas wasn't offended or completely dismissive of his offer.

He nodded mutely as Chas spoke, saddened to realise just how much the other truly had been through. Of course he wished that Chas would have accepted the offer, but it seemed as though Chas wished the same. Sometimes it was hard to fight against your own nature.

"I'm really sorry," he said, at last. "But I don't think you're hopeless with people. Not at all," Choco gave a warm smile. "You're certainly one of nicest people I've met. So I'll definitely come back and visit!"

Draining the rest of his tea, Choco smiled to himself. Maybe not today, but eventually... Just maybe he could get Chas outside in the city. Until then, there were worse places to be than quiet tea shops full of sweets.

I'm still mad at Kiryn for leaving, but I have to admit that today wouldn't have happened if he'd not left as he did. My days are filled with sightseeing, exploring new parts of the city... it's not much fun on my own, but I suppose I don't have anyone nagging me about going to places they don't like.

I found the sweetest tea shop - very classical and relaxing. I suppose the same can be said for the owner. Chas is... well, I suppose he proves me wrong about my reasons for not going out more often. There really are some wonderful people out there. It's sad to think that I would never have met Chas otherwise; he'd never have attended one of my events, even if he had heard of me.

Thinking of him alone in that shop is depressing... Even if he does have his brother (and who calls themself 'Lust', really?) for company, there are a lot of wonderful things he's missing out on... and he really looked so lonely for a few moments. I hope he knows I was serious about going back to visit - I think he would, after my offer. I'll have to bring him something special from my trips...

// Thread RP - 14/08 //

Britain
It had been a long day for the small tea shoppe known as Infusion. It's owner, weary from a frantic morning due to some sale down the street, was tired enough that he was actually perched on a stool behind the bar rather than standing expectantly as the chimes over the door sounded. The shop wore an air of fatigue, as well- as if he wasn't the only one wishing the day were over. Chas poured himself yet another cup of tea as he flipped through the pages of an Elysian history book; if the day didn't kill him, the confusing conflict of facts from the way he had been raised on Imperial might.

Orasteele
color=darkred]For Rethelust the day had been quite the opposite. He had made several successful business transactions, sold two of his major time pieces, and found the time for a nap in between. Lust was content with the day and whistling when he came down the stairs to join Chas for afternoon tea.

Britain
One eyebrow arched, and the water mage gave his brother a baleful stare as he approached with his annoyingly cheerful good mood. Chas' voice was a bit rusty and he reached blindly behind himself for another teacup; while Lust had been off having such a lovely day, he and his single assistant had been crushed by demand. Poor Robby. "Don't you look pleased with yourself?" He grated, raising a hand to rub at his eyes as he slid the cup across to Lust's usual position at the bar. "Ray of sunshine."

Orasteele
Lust caught the teacup in one hand as he sat down. "Hush you! Today has worked out wonderfully for me and I don't need you souring it. Even if you are cute when you're grumpy." He helped himself to the teapot and added his usual two sugars and honey to it. "So what got your panties in a bind?"

Britain
"It's been an absolutely hideous day," Chas sighed, though he'd never admit in a century that Lust's presence improved the day's outlook considerably. At least if he had any difficult customers, he could rely on his twin to handle them before he even had the chance. "We were so swamped this mornign that we had a line outside the doors. I sent Robby home several hours ago, dead exhausted- you'd think there was a shortage. You're looking unusually pleasant for this hour of day." He added cream to his own tea, pulling a pair of pastries from under the counter when he remembered to see if he had any left.

Orasteele
"Ooo.. Pastries." Lust's immediately snatched one up upon the site of them. It was the simple pleasures in life that made him smile. "That does explain why I sold two of the larger pieces in the store, as well as some of the smaller wall clocks." He took a bite and soon covered the counter in crumbs. "I also closed two of the larger transactions I had in proccess. It's been frabjous!" Sticky filling soon covered his hands, but that was the last thing on his mind. "You should go out and loosen up... maybe get laid, have a good time and then call it a day. Stressing like this isn't healthy. I'll even pay for it. " ^_~

Britain
That comment was quite enough to yank the other man out of his misery by the hair, making his eyes narrow as he moved off of his stool to lean over the counter. His shirt, so much more fitted than the robes he had worn on Imperial, pulled against the strong lines of his upper body; hands flat on the counter, he leaned close to his brother and purred. It was almost disturbing, compared to his usual chaste behavior, but it was a weapon he knew how to use well. Breath hot on Lust's cheek, he smiled darkly as his eyes flashed.

"I have never...in my life...found the need to pay for anything, little brother," he murmured, shoving away from the bar to walk towards the back and pull a new tray of pastries out of the oven. He cast a dstantly amused glance over his shoulder, stealing a moment of his brother's sensuality. "Exhaustion has many effects, but that has never been one of them."

Orasteele
Lust sat there silent a moment. Being taken off guard by his brother was something he wasn't used to, and he enjoyed every minute of it. Lust enjoyed the chase and his eyes followed his brother as he pulled out the tray of pastries. Always the one thing I can't have. Shame on you brother.

A smile played on his lips as he rose to his feet and walked up behind his brother, reaching for another pastry. "So then let's go play, brother. Or would you rather stay indoors this fine evening?" he whispered, breathe hot against the back of his brother's neck.

Britain
I feel like being cruel today. It is such a shame, little brother, that you are always such an easy victim.

A sharp movement brought the taller Dou away from his brother with a low growl; the same gesture raked the edge of the oven-hot pan across Lust's arm. It would have scarred anyone else, but Chas knew there would be no such issue here...Lust would know how little he wanted to be pushed. "I have no patience for your forcefulness this day, Rethelust," he hissed, slamming the pan down and throwing the towel he had used to pull it out aside. Steel-blue hair caught over his shoulder, eyes angry.

Orasteele
Lust took the hint with practiced ease and slid back over to his seat. "Spill it. I know you, and you are never in this bad of a mood even with my 'forcefullness' as you put it. Tell me what the hell is going on?" He refilled his tea cup and waited to hear who he needed to have killed.

Britain
There was a moment of furious silence, in which Relenchas hated his brother- but it passed quickly. He regretted his actions- it wasn't Lust's fault today had been so bitter, and it wasn't going to make anything better to take out his frustrations on such a willing source. If he were angry enough, after all, Lust would simply corner him and give him somethign else to do with his energy. >.o

Shoulders falling a bit with unhappiness, Chas plucked a peice of paper from his neat stack of orders, sliding it across the bar. "It arrived this morning," he said softly. "I don't...think there's any mistaking it for anyone else."

Orasteele
Order

To the owner: Please send two cases (mixed) of your current tea selection to the library on the corner of Rosewater and Heards Ln., in the name of one Manen Iq'ath. We are interested in setting up a weekly order; please add a list of your terms for delivery on regular runs to the shipment so that we may discuss the situation.

~Sha

Lust read the note twice over before taking a sip of his tea and then slamming the cup on the counter to watch it shatter in his hand. "Sorry 'bout that. I just really needed to get that out of my system. The man has his servant order tea from us but doesn't order it himself...it makes me wonder how much he really gives a s**t." Reaching over he grabbed the disguarded towel and cleaned up the mess. "I can see why today hasn't been good for you." Lust hated the rollercoaster of moods he was feeling, but it hurt to find out that thier father was still alive and hadn't contacted them... not that they had had much contact in the past... but that was besides the point.

Britain
"Oh, come now," Chas snapped, catching a shard of the teacup as it skittered across the bar in his direction. "Do you really think Father would ever do something so callous? He cared a great deal, Lust. I have my doubts about this 'servant-' when did you ever see Father keeping servants? This 'Sha' must be someone he trusts, to be involved in his library."

Taking a deep breath, Chastity carefully wiped the splinters from the bar and poured him a new cup of tea. "I suppose," he said softly, eyes on the pouring tea, "that I am simply afraid that Father is happy the way he is. What if...we are painful memories of the past that he wishes to forget? Particularly if our other Father is dead, as we believed."

Orasteele
"Then we will just continue living on as we have and let him live his life without us. And if that's not good enough we can always go back to what remains of Northern Imperial." He drank down the tea and set the cup down more gently this time. "You're probably right about this Sha fellow. Father never did hang around anyone that he didn't trust...and it would make sence that he didn't know who you were when the order was placed if he was never told." Maybe Manen didn't want to remember us, it would explain why this Sha person was never told...

kalindara
Choco arrived at the tea shop with the intention of catching up with Chas, as promised. Humming to himself, he pushed open the main door and entered. It looked much busier today... Now where was Chas?

Making his way past tables of customers, he spotted the older man at the bar - with company. Neither of them looked overly happy. Choco jumped and gave a small 'meep' as the scary stranger broke a glass.

Britain
Gold eyes levelled on his brother for a moment, and Chas reached out t touch his cheek with a hand much gentler than before. "And what if he misses us, Lust? What if we are not the only ones hurt by this farce? You are so quick to accuse...but perhaps there is a man in that library who misses his children."

I know you could be correct, his eyes told his brother silently, pleading. Let me keep my illusions a moment longer...

He broke from this tense moment at the sound in the doorway, drawing his hand away and letting a smooth mask of distance slide over his eyes. The face that belonged to the small noise of dismay made him relax a bit; he beckoned with one hand, reaching for another cup of tea. "You have good timing, Choco-la," he said wearily. "Come, there are fresh pastries, and you can meet my brother."

kalindara
"Um, hi?" Choco offered tentatively, waving a hand shyly. He was hesitant to approach and interrupt what was obviously a personal conversation, but apparently Chas had no plans to go back to it while he might be interrupted.

Sitting down on the other side of Chas, Choco reached for a pastry and eyed Lust curiously. Chas' brother was... a lot scarier-looking than Chas.

"So, you're Lust, right?" he asked. Hehehe, Choco didn't want to know how he got that name. Really.

Orasteele
Lust closed his eyes to his brother's gentle touch and snapped open just as quickly as Chas' hand had moved away. Believe what you want.

He turned to glance at the dou his brother had called over, eyeing him as potential prey. Lust smiled as he reached over the counter for another tea cup. "That's what they call me. The name's Rethelust, it's a pleasure to meet you Choco-la," said Lust practically purring as he filled the cup with the current brew.

Britain
"Rethelust, you will be civilized to my young friend," Chas warned, frowning balefully at him as he retreived a pastry for Choco. "None of your antics. I would greatly appreciate it if you did not so easily see those in my shoppe as potential prey- let alone those I prefer to have return!"

He turned back to Choco with a shake of his head, exasperated but grateful for the change of subject. "Please excuse my twin. Sometimes I think there isn't a clean thought in his head."

Zero Dream
It took a moment, that felt like hours, before the blonde known only as Zero finally decided himself to enter the small tea shop he had spotted a few weeks prior, just a bit nervous of what was inside - but then, he had that with about any potential interaction still, as much as he was starting, just starting, to come out of his shell.

The worst is to get started... he reminded himself, at the same time remembering his pleasant meeting with Setosa as he finally pushed the door and came inside as sillently as he could, eying the surroundings for a split second before sitting near where the rest of the men where, but far enough so he would, hopefully, not interupt any individual space.

...What was he supposed to say now ? s**t.

kalindara
Choco edged away, not liking the way Lust looked at him. He stared back warily. "Uh... nice to meet you?" he replied back, obviously not as enthused about the meeting as Lust.

A sigh of relief left him as Chas intervened. "It's bad enough out on the streets on my own," he grumbled. "There's so many weirdos out there..."

It made him sad that his plans to see beautiful sites around the city were spoiled by the strangest of people.

Orasteele
"Alright Chas, but only because you saw him first." He winked at his brother and lifted a pastry off of the tray. The damned things were addicting. Lust's attention turned back to Choco. "So how is it that you know my dear brother? Or is that a personal..." His attention drifted off to the blonde not far from the bar. "...and who is this? Are you keeping men in your closet again Chas?! You know I hate it when you do that."

Zero Dream
...Keeping men in the closet ? He had to be missing something...

Zero was definitively starteled when he glanced at Lust, a "what the ********" look clearly visible on his face.

"...I assure you I do not come from a closet..." He said, his eyes avoiding to look at Lust straight in his own, visibely a little embarassed.

Britain
"You would think such terrible things," Chas muttered, shaking his head and stepping away to see Zero more clearly. Something about this one...felt older than those he usually met in this quiet corner. The water mage had long been an observant man. "What might I help you with, sir? If my brother's crudity has not offended you, there are fresh pastries to be had and tea of any type or blend. I have not seen your face here before."

And I will speak to you about those 'weirdos' at length some other time, he noted, throwing a glance to Choco-la. If there was one thing he despised, it was those who preyed on the innocent...

kalindara
Choco had been taking a bite of his pastry when Lust asked about Chas keeping men in his closet. Eyes snapping wide open, Choco began to choke on his pastry, inhaling it instead of swallowing.

Just what sort of person was this Lust?!

"No!" he finally managed to get out. "We met here the other day, that's all. I'm on vacation for a while..."

Orasteele
Lust winked at Choco before motioning Zero to take the empty seat next to him. "Well that's good to know. My brother makes it a habit of his you see. Please join us...?"

Zero Dream
If Zero could blush, he would probabely be as red as the metal horns adorned on his hat, if not magically more. However, he took the seat as instructed, finding it almost impossible to refuse.

"Green tea would be lovely, if you would be so kind, mister... ?" He glanced at Chas, visibely much more confortable with him than with his brother.

Britain
"Relenchas," was the serene reply, as he drifted to another part of the counter to collect a small teapot, fill it with water, and bring it and the tea to set in front of Zero. "This is my shop. The ruffian with the dark hair and uncivilized demeanor is my twin, Rethelust- Chas and Lust, respectively. He owns the shop next door, and does not spend anywhere near enough time in it."

After that reproachful look to his twin, he turned to Choco with concern. "Are you alright? Please, take nothing he says seriously. He says such things merely to force a reaction."

kalindara
"Can I get a drink, too, please?" Choco's voice was still hoarse from the choking fit. He wasn't touching the pastry again til he'd washed the awful feeling away.

Shooting a mutinous glare at Lust - feeling safer with Chas watching over him - Choco said, "And I'll face your direction while I'm drinking so if you try that again, you'll be the one with tea all over you."

Orasteele
"As long as it's coming from your lips I don't care where it goes," he said tapping Choco on the chin and turning his attention to Zero. His brother was absolutely right about him; he lived for the reactions others gave him.

He lifted his tea and enjoyed the aroma as he peered at Zero over his cup. "You still haven't answered my question as to your name? Though in all truth I could really care less about such minor formalities."

Zero Dream
Zero, however, had learnt from the event master's mistake and took a sip AFTER Lust had spoken, enjoting the taste that he had not had in quite some time.

"My name is Zero." He simpely answered, gentely putting the cup back on the table, as if it was much more fragile than it actually was. "...I am pretty new around here." Visibely, he was trying to start a conversation that wouldn't wind up with him or the young boy spitting up whatever they where eating or drinking at the time. Curious eyes, however, went to Choco with a gentle, sightly nervoud gaze. "And while we're at this, I do not believe I caught your name..."

Britain
"A pleasure to meet you, Zero," Chas told him, pouring a glass of iced tea for Choco-la and reaching across to firmly smack the hell out of his brother. "Behave yourself, or we will see how much better I have gotten with that staff," he stated menacingly, tapping a finger on the counter with his direct stare. Without looking away, he nodded once to Zero. "My young friend here is Coco-la, master of some of the lovely events that have been held in the area. I had hoped to make him one of my regulars, of my brother does not scare him off!"

kalindara
Turning away to accept his tea, Choco just knew he was blushing from Lust's comment. The man had no decency whatsoever. And apparently it was infectious because Choco found himself tempted to ignore all his manners and spit on Lust, just to see his reaction. Of course he'd never, ever do so... He blushed harder, embarrassed at his childish reaction.

Choco smiled at Zero. "That's me," he smiled sunnily. "They call me the Master of Events - I do concerts, parties, all that kind of thing. My PA ran off for a vacation though, so I can't work til he gets back." Green eyes rolled to the ceiling, showing what he thought of that idea.

Orasteele
"You picked a good place to stop if you are new around here. Chas runs the best teahouse in Elysium. I just run the clockshop next door," he said motioning with his hand in the general direction.

Lust caught his brother's stare and smiled as if the warning didn't matter at all. "Don't worry dear brother of mine, I won't do anything to your customers while you're here. You know where my intentions lie." It was one thing to enjoy teasing the customers, but it was a whole nother ball game when it came to what he wanted.

"If you turn any redder you are going to batch that pretty outfit of yours, Choco," he said grinning as he leaned against the bar. Pretty things were best left alone till permission was recieved, for they tended to be the most dangerous when angered.

Zero Dream
Zero took another sip, making near to no sound as he did.

"So far, ill'd agree with that." Perhaps not from the quality of the clients, but for the tea ? Best damn tea he ever had, but Zero wasn't really that hard to please.

"Ill'd love to assist to one of your events sometimes, Choco." He said with the best warm smile he could manage to make. "Or perhaps help with the heavy stuff, if you need it." No use having someone as cute at that break something.

...

Damnit, was Lust contagious ?!?

Britain
For a long moment, Chas watched his brother...neutral eyes weighing his words. At last, however, he nodded- Lust had only pushed himself on one person, that Chas knew of, and his twin had been paying for THAT mistake since they were sixteeen. Chas didn't see any reason to let up on him now, but it did cut him some measure of slack in his usual activities. The mage let the comment pass, glancing curiously at Choco before ensuring that there were no other customers to attend. "I make no statement that I run the best establishment," he commented, "but I will affirm that I serve the best tea. Some of what is served in this city is positively atrocious."

kalindara
"I'll agree with that," Choco chirped, adding sugar to his tea before sipping at it. "I haven't had tea as nice as Chas' anywhere else in the city."

Snarling softly to himself, Choco did indeed turn almost as red as his short kimono as Lust continued to tease him. He'd also noted that 'while you're here' in Lust's reassurance, and made a note to never go visit Lust's store. Throwing another glare at Lust, he turned his attention to Zero, muttering something about poison-makers and stores and inquring about prices...

"Ah thank you," Choco grinned at Zero. His good mood returned as the topic hit his work, causing him to light up like a neon light. "Most of the people who can afford my services prefer to hire their own labourers, but some of them trust my judgement and let me choose my own staff... I'll keep that in mnd, thank you."

Orasteele
Lust's ears perked up as if someone had called his name. "Poison-makers? I could name a few excellent ones, but the price varies on the type of poison used. The best ones are worth the expense though. The other day I sold an enire shipment that was coated for double the price I would have gotten had the items been untreated. What kind are you interested in purchasing Choco? I could look up the price for you." His entire demenor changed when it came to business, and pleasure always came after business in his store...or inbetween...that worked too.

Zero Dream
"No problem." Zero still smiled at the young boy, before tossing a bang out of his face, forehead jewel glittering. People where almost never only what the seemed, and Lust seemed to be one of those. Slight curiosity wandered in his mind, but he repessed it, finding it better not to ask.

"Glad I have come then." He spoke again, adressing itself at Chas. "I cannot stand nasty tea." Well, who did, dumbass ?

Britain
"Business in quieter quarters, Rethelust," Chas murmured softly, pausing to refill cups of tea all around. "You are so impetuous...let's not cause unnecessary problems, hmm?"

If anyone were to get himself arrested, it would be Lust. Chas would prefer that his brother's illegal affairs were not discovered in this place; Lust had made friends with the guards in the North, but this was unfamiliar territory. If Lust was abused in any fashion, Chas would have to take steps, and he really didn't want that to become necessary.

He threw a smile at Zero, banishing the thought, and one hand came up to gently touch the ring in his lip. "I will be certain to pay special attention to your tea, then," he teased, eyes flickering to amusement.

kalindara
Choco just stared at Lust in dismay. Of course the scary dou was into poisons and knew everything about them. And now it was a topic of discussion. With a groan, Choco buried his head in an arm.

... Just for a minute before the smell of pastry lured him back to his food.

"I was referring to someone else I'd met," he found himself stating sourly to Lust, "not to- oh, never mind..."

Great, how embarrassing. Now he was starting to pick up bad topics of conversation from the weirdos he'd met. He'd just come in here for tea and company!

Orasteele
"Right, well I can see that perhaps I should leave you all to your tea and go tend to my own shop as my dear brother stated earlier." As much as he enjoyed getting a reaction out of people he could tell when his company wasn't wanted. A hint that he often didn't take to heart, but tonight he just wasn't up to the fight that it could cause later between himself and Chas. "If any of you wish to purchase some more unusual ornaments please feel free to stop by my shop next door. Otherwise good evening to you all!" Lust finished off his tea and carried both it and the plate he had been pastries off of to the kitchen before heading upstairs.

Zero Dream
Dare he say he was relieved ?

No, but he would think it pretty loudly.

"Ah, don't worry too much about me." Zero answered with a playful smile. "I am not as picky as that comment made me come out being."

Britain
"You should be," Chas admonished Zero, retrieving a dirty cup from where another customer had left it down the bar. His eyes had turned a bit sad as his brother left, feeling the loss of his presence like a shallow wound- not life-threatening, but not pleasant. "Lust is an opportinist, Choco-la. Pay him no mind- he usually prefers it that way, regardless. Better to be forgotten than hated. He can be so very fragile, sometimes...I wish he would consider that before he acted."

kalindara
Listening to Chas, Choco propped his chin up with a hand and watched the older dou. He was doing that sad thing again, that made Choco feel guilty for the things he had said...

"Wouldn't he rather be liked, though?" he asked. The idea of someone thinking their only options were being hated or forgotten was foreign and saddening. Lust also did NOT strike him as fragile in any way... but he assumed that Chas would know his brother far better than Choco could.

"People should think about how they affect others," came a soft mumble. Even by leaving, Lust had just created more problems. Choco had never had a brother, or any real family, but he thought that if he did, he'd be super nice to them. He didn't understand how Lust could want to keep taunting Chas.

Zero Dream
"I guess that's how I am." He answered absentmindely, unknowingly finding himself thinking something similar to the event master. What was it to have a family ? How was it not to be alone all the time ?

...

"Some people are like that, Choco." He finishied his tea cup and again, gentely placed it back on the table with the greatest of cares. "It isn't a thing that is easy to change, once it is planted in one's mind..." Oh, he knew, he knew all too well.

"Trough I am afraid I need to take my leave now." He paid for his tea, then got up, giving a bow to the two men. "In hope to catch both of you later, yes ? Oh." Suddently, he remembered something, sliding a napkin and jolting down a number before handing it to Choco. "My cellphone number, if you ever need me... I have a pretty flexible schedule."

After one last smile, that seemed a bit sadder than the other, the blonde turned and took his leave, long hairs trailing behind him like a wave.

Britain
"I will look forward to your return!" Chas called after Zero, shaking his head. It was sad to see the man go, he'd been having such a pleasant time...it definitely made up for his rough morning. Still, there was a time for everyone to leave, after all. His smile as he turned back to Choco was a bit reluctant, but also brighter- his eyes seemed to laugh at his brother.

"Lust...certainly makes things interesting," he managed to say with a relatively straight face. "Though he has caused me much strife, I must confess that his schemes add bright points of interest to my otherwise calm life. Though we may quarrel...I would not trade him for anything." An eyebrow raised as he set Zero's cup and payment behind the counter, amused. "You needn't tell him I said so, of course."

Regretfully, he glanced at the elaborate wall clock he had stolen from Lust and sighed. "I do need to close my doors, I'm afraid. You will be returning, won't you? Your company is far more pleasant than my usual customers."

kalindara
"Of course I'll be back," Choco smiled, glad that Chas wasn't sick of him. Draining his tea, he polished off the last of his pastry and left some money on the counter.

"And of course I won't tell your brother." What he didn't say was that he had no plans of ever seeing Lust without Chas being there to hold his brother in check. But there was no need to be rude, after all.

"I'll see you later," he waved as he left through the door.
