I'm doing this really big picture for my boyfriend when he graduates in June, and I'm coming up with yet another huge problem with the drawing already. :C I know this thread isn't really a gallery, but you ladies are fantasmic at art, and I thought, well, I should try this subforum. So, here is what I have so far, which is like, a fraction of the planned end, but I have one main question. Does it look like the woman's head is way too small? o_o I mean, I know that the kimono is going to add a fair bit more bulk than a dress would, because it's hardly form-fitting, but it seems like her body is far longer than it should be. I have no idea how to actually fix it, as in, make her head bigger.

Well...I'm not a professional, or anywhere near it, but I think it's very good. The head doesn't look to small to me, it looks just fine.

I don't think that the head looks too big, though. It looks just right. whee I usually have a problem with drawing my heads wayyy too big. Looks good! Be sure to show us the finished product! ;D

This is still one of the most troublesome things I've ever painted, though, considering I've redrawn it, like, nine times or something.
Here's what I have so far, with the new pose, which I hope I won't change again.
What do you guys think of the woman's face? I'm really proud of it, actually, and it looks better when seen at full-view. This image is a much smaller version.
I'm still working on the hair, but should I change its design?
Right now--I still think the woman looks like she's dressed her hair and clothing like some little old lady. Yes, she's a character who has to wear low-key, refined colors, but she's also glamorous. I'm just having a hard time picking the color for her kimono.
If you ladies come up with any colors for her kimono, send me a swatch, or something. : D If I like it, I'll give you a Gaia item. -bribes you with pastries and pixels-

Oh, it's so pretty! : D I see the dress as being a deep, pretty, rusty orange, myself.

Thank you! And thank you for the suggestion. I wish I'd considered orange before I painted it a silvery blue. The background is blue, so orange would have been really gorgeous. D :
I'll remember the orange for the future, though. I draw this character all the time, because she's got a wardrobe the size of Houston, and I love drawing pretty clothes. Cx Thank you soo much!

What I have so far of the drawing is here. It's seriously downsized, and I still can't make myself like it.
My tablet is broken. I had to send it in Canada, and I can't finish my picture until it comes home from the Cold North. : |
