My youth group has started doing a questions and answers night every now and then.
It's pretty fun. The kids can ask the adult leaders questions and vise versa.

Last time, I asked why a lot of guys can't multi task. xp

Tonight, though, I asked a bit more serious one.
I didn't know exactly how to word it, but, ner.
Ryuu's question was:
"How come home schoolers tend to be pushed away?"

I didn't know exactly how to word it, so I just went with that.
I think next time, I'll ask another question relating to that.
What will it be, you're wondering?

"If someone blantly says home schoolers 'aren't that smart', how do you deal with it?"

I know what it feels like to have that said to you, by a friend no less.
So, heck, might as well see what the adults can come up with for answers.
I mean, how do you deal with that without blowing up at the person?
It happened awhile ago, but I was talking to one of my friends and we somehow got on the discussion about math and I said I wasn't very good at it.
"Well, home schoolers generally aren't that smart." Is what I got as a reply.
(Or something along those lines, can't remember exactly what she said.)

How do you deal with something like that?
Especially if it's coming from someone you think is a friend?

So yeah, I'mma gonna ask that next time.

Does anyone have a problem with me writing a lot? sweatdrop

Haha well I don't have a problem with it, and I over rule everyone else. wink Honestly I've known a lot of people that were home schooled and some of them were a lot smarter than regular schooled students. The only different I noticed was most of them were anti-social or weren't very good with conversation skills because they really didn't have much practice if ya know what I mean? Besides just because your not good at math doesn't make you less smart lol. A lot of people have a strength in certain subjects. Personally I was really smart with math up to Calc and now I feel retarted. And with English I am a terrible reader, but a pretty decent writer. O' and I hate science, but I blame my teachers for that sweatdrop .
But I guess your question was how to deal with people calling you dumb without getting mad at them? Honestly you really shouldn't be ashamed of your weaknesses. You know what your bad at and so you know what you need to work on. But point out your strengths. Be like psh who cares about math? I'm really good at __________? xd

Yeah, I can't start conversations all too much.
Like one of the adults pointed out.
Home schoolers are stuck home all the time with their family, so they're not very good at just starting a conversation.

I think I'd still be like that, though. Even if I was in public school.
I'm just not a very social person.

Yeah, I suck at math, but I am good at a few other things. Sorta.

sweatdrop Ya there are a lot of anti-social people in public school so I guess I really can't say much there. I'm sure your good at a lot of things, you just don't know them specifically.
