Well here is some of my ideas... are some of them I mean... bad grammar, augh! Anyways, this is what I think I might do, so let me know if your interested still!
Salem Village 1692
Salem Village, just North of Boston, is a small and bitter town full of disputes over land and properties. It is very strictly Puritan, a group of people who believe in purifying the English church through strict biblical interpretation. Samuel Parris, the first appointed minister, is highly overpaid for his job, and continues to force his wages up by inspiring fear in those he preaches to, speaking only of their sins and how they cannot be forgiven by the Lord. The witch hunt shall begin with his own daughter and neice. Both young girls are troubled by strange fits and finally say that they are tormented by the specter of none other than the minister's Native American slave named Tituba, who was forcibly stolen from her Abenaki Tribe. Soon, more young women about the town claim that they are tormented by specters, and are incapable of hearing words of prayer. Over the course of the year, 20 people were executed for witchcraft, and many more were jailed to either die in jail, or all but waste away.
Some experts claim that the girls were faking their symptoms, since they seemed to convey them only at such times when people were visiting or it was time for church. However, what if witchcraft were real? After all, Paganism is derived from the worship of spirits of the land. It is not a Satanist religion in any way. It was only portrayed this way to help establish and confirm Catholicism in its earlier years. One of the main Pagan gods was a horned goat man, who the Catholics later gave wings and called their very own fallen angel. Is it possible that witchcraft existed throughout the Puritan village? However, a group of people secretely following a religion they believe may not have been the cause of such terrible fits. Unless the children were miscreants of some sort, or perhaps were even interested in joining the Pagan religion? Many young women and some young men were accused of witchcraft, and while most accusations were most likely false, surely the true witches would have escaped death.
The concept of the rp is to live out the year of 1692 as a group of people living in the small Salem Village community. There are only several important historical figures in the town which would need to be played by someone, but anyone could choose to play a Witch, male or female, a devout Puritan, a bewitched young girl, or one of the Abenaki Indians who were said to have also been Witches in many cases, due to the initial accusation and a failing peace treaty between them and the white invaders.
The concept? Paganism is a true religion which involves prayers and chants of all sorts, which can be called spells. However, they are not any different from the prayers of a Holy Puritan church, perhaps. Therefore, it would be possible for Pagans and Puritans to live with each other without ever knowing. After all, it was a new world, and Pagans needed to escape the English Church as much as the Puritans did.

Haha, well, I'm interested.
Although, the other two captains happen to be pagan IRL, so I don't know how they will take to this RP. Oo I don't really see it being a problem, but just in case, I wanted to let you know... XD

That's actually really cool! Well, if they're Pagan, maybe they can fill me in about the religion, since I don't know anything haha. I'm atheist as can be, so anything I say about most religions is biased nonsense...

Yeah, see, that's why I brought it up. XD I don't think they'd like to see paganism misrepresented, even if it is a Salem Witch Trials RP. So talk it over with them... uh, if they ever get online |D;

yeah hehe.
Well, in any case, its not like I am promoting hatred against paganists. I'm atheist, so I equally hate all religions haha. No, but not really about the hate part. I more respecfully disagree... yeah... but I want to make it clear I'm not labeling paganists as bad or as the stereotypical witch, but more as a person who just has a different religion, but is persecuted from fear and by puritan extremists

Witches aren't my thing, although that one show with the three good witches was kinda cool ((Charmed Ones was the title I think)). But even Robin didn't get me into it, same with vampires.
But hey, go atheists! Although, I think I'm actually Buddiest or something like that, I have a crazy religion tree, but I'll stop talking about that.

Haha. Well, I'm somewhere between atheist and agnostic. I don't think there is nothing. I believe in science and reason, and whatever you can prove to me. So basically, I won't believe on something or someone based on blind faith. I need proof. So if there is a God, and He wants to prove to me his existence somehow, then I'll believe in him. Otherwise, I'm just going to continue doing the right thing. Too many religions have rules and don't promote just being good for the sake of being good... I don't think it should matter whether or not you believe in God or religion. As long as you do good in life, as long as you treat people well, God should forgive me, if He is real. And if he isn't, I was right... and I rot in the ground -__- Yay!

Amen! lolz
Quite frankly though, I don't care what happens after death since that would be beyond my control anyway. If there is a wherever, I'd be there and go "Holy popsicles! IT exists!"
I'm not sure about having a religious chat (which I wouldn't mind) but I do remember someplace about leaving politcal stuff out of the guild... anyway Witches, Burn or not to Burn, that is the question!

Ameko no Mori Well, in any case, its not like I am promoting hatred against paganists. No, I know you wouldn't do that. XD I'm just saying that it might be awkward for people to RP pagans if they don't know a lot about the religion, and they would notice. I've seen one of them get upset about what Christian characters have said and done in other non-Salem RPs, so I just am concerned that it might be a touchy subject. I'll ask once I can get in touch with them, though. 8D None of this is final, really!

Ok, well that makes sense. It'd be like if I had an rp character who is shinto and didn't know anything about it. That's why I tend not to focus much on religion. it'd be rude of me to guess around about a religion I don't know, since its some people's choice of lifestyle/belief system..

Well Jessie and I don't mind. We can help with what you would like to know about it. ^-^; I have gotten upset in the past, but that's only because they made no effert to find out about anything. >.<
To be honest the Salem witch trial is one of my favorite subjects. I think it would be fun to RP. And I do relize there are going to be a lot of comment said in the RP that could hurt, but I mean it IS a witch hunt RP. XD

I'm glad to hear that you're cool with it! ANd yeah, people will say things, but it won't be them, it'll be there characters. Besides, since they were ignorant about the religion back then, what can they say? Except that people are witches, or turned other people to toads or whatever they can think up out of their crazy Puritan heads. Those crazy Puritans!

It was probably the one time in history that a few young women could wipe out entire communities.
