There are three closed and opaque cardboard boxes. One is labeled "APPLES", another is labeled "ORANGES", and the last is labeled "APPLES AND ORANGES". You know that the labels are currently misarranged, such that no box is correctly labeled. You would like to correctly rearrange these labels. To accomplish this, you may draw only one fruit from one of the boxes. Which box do you choose, and how do you then proceed to rearrange the labels?

You can't draw one you have to draw two because the apples and oranges and it doesn't matter what box you choose because you can rearrange the labels after you draw them

you'll reach into one box as said before, and while only taking one apple/orange out you feel the texture of the fruit to distinguish apples and oranges from eachother........apples are smooth, oranges are not.....so only pull one fruit out and know if the box is all apples, all oranges, or both to rearrange the labels accordingly

This is just a creative guess. Dump all of the fruit into one big box and put the apples, oranges, and the apples/oranges labels on the box you dumped all of the fruit in. I'm just guessing 3nodding !

draw out a fruit from the apples and oranges box

Let's say its an apple

You then know that the apples and oranges box has apples.

That leaves you with the apples box and the oranges box

As they both must be labelled incorrectly you know there cannot be oranges in the orange's box so it must be apples And oranges in there.

That leaves you with the apples box which must contain oranges.

Am I right?

You don't have to take a single fruit out, just stick your hand in the box and feel for the texture of two different fruit.
EX. you stick your hand in the box labled apples, and find that there is one apple and one orange. You then know that that bow is apples/oranges. now all you have to do is reach into the other box and feel the texture of that fruit. Then you know.
