Hey, I know this is the Anime thing, but I really wanna talk about some cool american and english comics out there now. Ones like Cannon Busters, Blue Monday, and such. Indie comics and ones that just stand out.
First up, Blue Monday. Have you ever read Archie? Did you ever wonder what it would be like if the comic was filled with constant musical references, tons of innuendos, cursing, and otherwise chaotic messages not intended for anyone under the age of fifteen? Welcome to Fressburger, home of one Bleu L. Finnegan, a girl stuck in her fantasies and and a pack of friends who are just as stuck as she is. The series has four books now, and they all star our lovely Bleu treddging through her early-nineties high school, having to deal with the rise of sluts, pop, crap rap, and otherwise stoopid behavior. Thankfully, she si a full-on Brit, wih more Mod in her veins than any other person alive. Her friends all share her Punk Rock tastes, and i don't mean Clash. Zombies, Cramps, Dillitones, Adam Ant, Kinks, Adverts, Jam, and so many others you can't name them all are featured in this thing. Even if you don't like the hillarious jokes, the constant over-dramatic drama from Bleu, or the dreamy Mr. B, the steady flow of cool music in the thing will, I repeat, WILL, woo you over.
Scott Pilgrim is next. Scott is just some dude in a band dating a cute asian high-schooler, but when a roller-skating messenger girl rolls into his life, he can't help but venture into uncharted territorries. Now, he must fight off her seven evil boyfriends in heated combat. unknown to these evil-doers, Scott is the strongest fighter in the whole tri-state area, and if they want to break up his new loving relationship, they'll have to go through his incredibly sentai-like, boarding into Denka Rangers style of super-powerD fightEng moveZZ. Go, Scott, GO!
Now is Next Exit. When Retro wins a map in a gambling bout, she and her boyfriend Markesh quickly realize that it is a map that will lead out of this world of sorrow and into another. With Retro's hyper-activity and Markesh's alchemist skills and secrets, they may have a fighting chance to beat the odds and make it out, but fighting is one thing they'll be doing lots of to do accomplish their goals. Funny jokes, pretty cool art, the writer/artist has cool tastes in music that she displays in her bios section at the back of each book, and she doesn't allow any fanart except for the good ones. She also has a DeviantArt Account.
I'll be doing more later. See ya for now!

NEXT!
...exit.
OKAY! Time for a new review/summary thing.....
STREET ANGEL
Street Angel lives in the town (city) of Wilsborough. Its a ghetto taht was nuked a few decades ago and is run by ninjas, mad scientists, ninjas, time-travelling conquistidores, and more ninjas. Did I mention ninjas? Well, anyway, she has mad skating skills, and is homeless. Oh, yeah, and she fights like insane bisnas efficks. She's wicked. The art style is kinda lacking, but hell, the story kicks a** and is pretty funny for a new-school old-school (meaning 1950's and bellow) humor. About five or six issues are out. I like it. 4/5.
by the way, I often refer to individual issues as "com"s, short for "comic"s.

Now, lots of new comics of the clasics have been released lately. They are all pretty cool, but to be honest, its the NEW ones that capture my attention. The Young Avengers, which features five new hereos, dubbed so by a certain paper owned by one Jay Jameson, all of whom have some kind of powers closely resembling that of the original avengers, have especially caught my eye. It has a few, very subtle jokes, tons of refferences to other super-heroes, gets into the history of Kang (T.C.), and is packed with a few surprises, including Jewel, Ant-man's DAUGHTER getting her powers, and so on and so on.
Now, this also TIES IN with another new one I like called Runaways. You may remember a group of evil doers called The Pride, who were defeated by their kids.
Well, their kids actually killed them, and when one kid tried to help his parents, the teens killed him too. Now, they are taking up super-hero work, and their first task is simple:
Find the man who will eventually become a super-hero that will turn on everyone else and kill them.
ALL of them. Down to the last hero. While they search for the traitor, they have to fight off a managerie of adults who are trying to get teenage heroes off the streets and into schools and such, a boy with recently-discovered powers beyond that of magneto, and a massive migrane from all this time-traveling nonsense.

!NEW!

So, I checked out the new Papa Midnight series, since I already have a few issues of the orijj Hellblazer, but nothing on my Papa.
Wow.
I've never read such a crap comic before in my life.
Its basically a quick view into the past of Constantine and Papa Midnight, but it has no humor, you see it only in flashbacks, there's something going on with a gang, but no actual action takes place during the entire bloody thing, there are few scenes that show Contstantine actually doing anything, it never gets into how Papa got his powers, and basically, doesn't explain much anyway. Its all very confusing, stupid, and very watered-down. In my opinion, don't even buy it to burn it; giving money to the person who wrote this s**t of a comic would give them many a false hopes.

Heres another....

Shi
Well, I don't want to give away any of the plot on this one. All in all, the whole thing seems confusing, but, once you read it two or three times, it all makes complete sense, and suddenly becomes incredibly kick a**. But the boys (or lezzies) will need to get over the artist's compuslive tendency to draw our little hellion in the most erotic and sexy poses while choping off heads and rolling around in the snow. Ah, sad girls in snow...megatokyo much?
Anyway, the art style is excellent, the quality is pretty fresh (story wise) and it is riddled with correctly used Asian Religious refferences and tons of fight sequences, so to conclude, BUY EVERY ******** ONE.

Heres a list of comics I own that are only up to like, book two and stuff, so there is no real plot yet...
Random encounter - seems pretty cool....
gold digger - this is totally american manga, but in the most cool way possible, and its up to like 60 some odd issues but i only have one and two...
scooter girl - very cool, by chynia clugston, my fav, author of blue monday and
Hopeless Savages - also very cool, by CC, and its very very punk rock, can't remember if I posted it already, oh well, next up...
Death Jr. - Goes with the video game, kinda okay, but you have to like the idea of death being your dad to get some of the jokes...
Oh, yeah...and....WHY am I the only one who ever posts new coms here?

YOUNG AVENGERS HAS A GAY SUPERHERO COUPLE!
In the Young Avengers, the young Skrull Prince Teddy (Hulkling) and his best friend Billy (Wiccan) are actually gay for each other. I think that not only is it about time for a gay couple, I love all the gay jokes they've been doing...like, when Billy tries to explain to his parents that he is a super-hero, they think that he's trying to confess his gayness.....I like how accepting his parents are.
Quote:
Mom: "I just want you to know...that we, your parents, are proud of you, and we're just....so happy that you boys have found each other."
Dad: "Welcome to the family, Ted. Now, its about time for breakfast; how do you like your eggs, son?"

Aeon Flux was great, it was just like the MTV series and the comics.
Oh, yeah, and sorry for the lack of updates, but it just seems like NO ONE ******** CARES!
....*ahem* Sorry about that, it's just that this is a private anime guild and no one here is talking about comics aside from me and a handful of others.
