Ode to Granite
I found a pretty rock named granite Shiny black, white and gray Few people actually try to understand it Though they see it everyday
For years it has sat out in the yard It lay there staring up at the sky Although time has left its face marred It waits to be discovered as the days go by
The granite consists of mica, quartz and other rocks Some parts are shiny, and some are not Flakes of black make it look like it has pox This all formed when it was very hot
Now that this stone has been found Many places it is bound.

Hey, that's really cool! I don't think I've ever read a poem about a rock before. The second stanza was really groovy, too.
