I'm no longer in school. I should be going to college right now, but I'm taking a break. Who knows whether or not it'll be temporary or permanent...
However, I used to do horribly in school. It just did not match up well for me. I'm the four-eyed geek who used to spend lunchtime in the library, reading the latest Star Wars novel or surfing the Web.
As far as schoolwork, I slacked off a lot. I could've done well, but it just didn't seem important for me.
Luckily, I found out about homeschooling at the end of my sophomore year and spend the last two years of high school learning my way, and wish I could've done the same before.
Enjoy Prom. smile

I slacked off my first 3 years (my Freshman year was F, F, F, F, F, F, F, A in Japanese), and it subtly became higher and higher. This year, though, I have a 4.0 (to the shock of many!) and it's getting easier to do all that junk.
I always hear good things about home schooling, and I think I would prefer it over public schooling if I'd ever had the opportunity. That's really cool. whee
If you do end up going to college, what do you think you'll study?

If you do end up going to college, what do you think you'll study? Home schooling was absolutely amazing. I helped pay for it as well, as I was working my first part-time job by then at the library. I'd get to work in the morning, work my four hour shift, and then work on homework until my 'rents came home and picked me up. One day, if I go, I plan on getting a Bachelor's in History and then moving onto my Master's in Library Science.

That would be awesome. We could be Bachelor's-in-History-buddies! I have a favorite substitute teacher who was my Sophomore year English teacher that's currently in school for her Library Science Master's. She's also got a Master's in English, and German. @___@ So many years of school!

Indeed, we could be. I find ancient history much more fascinating than any new stuff. Military history is interesting as well. The times when people THOUGHT too much were boring in my opinion. lol As far as actually starting college, I know I should... but I'm happy where I am with my job right now. I work full-time 40 hours a week and the idea of adding studying to my plate just seems overwhelming. I also have bad memories of high school, but who knows... one day, I may get back in the saddle.

Hopefully college won't be like high school, and I find myself trying to remember this every day. It's become a mantra: "In college, they won't be throwing things at the ceiling... In college, they won't be talking during a lesson... In college, they won't be slacking off..." Oh, how I hope.
I really like Military history as well as ancient History, though I've finally discovered my slight soft-spot for the 20th century and up (sadly though, it's taking a while for me to really be as impassioned about it).

Oooh, History's always fun.
School's going okay for me, just annoying and time-consuming, especially since I've got Math and Science at the same time, which piles on the homework like crazy x-x.

Oh man. x_X I hate Math. ;__; When I finally, finally start passing Geometry I learn that it isn't important to college. >__> It hates me with a fiery passion that is unsurpassed by everything except perhaps France and those half and half things at restaurants.

School is kind of stressful for me at the moment. I have my European history AP exam in two weeks, which imeans a ton of studying. And since we're approaching the end of the school year, all the teachers are piling it on for the exams. I'm pulling through it though.

School is stressful for me at the moment. School let's out in four weeks and I know that the teachers are worried that we're not prepared enough to move on. Plus all the teachers want to give us extra work to make sure we're ready for the finals. I'm not worried about the finals. I'm passing all my classes and the finals don't pose a major threat to my grade even if I do fail them. Which I know I will on a couple but that's only because I don't test well. Plus I'm trying to fill out all this AP application stuff to be eligible for AP European History and AP Literature and Composition next year. It'll be my senior year next year and while everyone else is using that year to take a break, I'll be killing myself with the work load I'll be getting. XP

Traditionally, this month is always the one where we start to wind down from all the chaos of the year. And this year, half my teachers are retiring, so it should be even more peaceful. But it's not. ._.
I have my EMT test coming up, so I have to study for that hardcore. Plus, I'm on this environmental science trivia team, and I have to study for the upcoming Envirothon competition. I have eighty million scholarship things to do. Oh yeah, and I also have to write speeches for the new Honor Society inductees and the graduating class, since I'm the valedictorian. XP
And just when I get that over with, I have my 12-page lit paper to do. Ach... It just never ends.

Right now, I feel my brain melting out my ears. Finals week is rearing its ugly head... 3 papers, 1 presentation, 1 exam, and a portfolio. Hurrah *died*
School was always easy for me, still is I suppose, but I like the unstructured envorment of college so much more then high school. I feel more like a scholar then a student, that is to say I am not judged by my role a 'student' or 'underclassman.' I am a person here to learn.
Maybe I'm just in love with my school.
