 - The Layhr And The Lion - XXXVIGeNtech Scientist XXXVI (36), Male, adolescent. Kind temperament. Subject did not have particularly defining features, originally possessing two large pairs of spikes on it's back, one pair straight up between its shoulder blades, and the other pair twisting near it's hips. Also appears to have several spikes hidden in the tail. Subject's mane is relatively short and 'swept forward'. However, due to an incident (possibly a lab accident or a fight), this layhr is completely scarred down it's right side. Right eye no longer functions, and spikes on that side are broken off. "Doesn't seem to mind." Possible connection with subject known as "C4".
Lion Handler Bio [Name] Lion [Age] 16 going on 17 [Gender] Male [Height/Physical Appearance] Lion is not particularly tall, clocking in at about 5’7” and not likely to get much taller. He has the rather scrawny build of someone who has yet to fill out, though what he does have is wiry muscle. Lion inherited his mother’s fine features, but tends to ruin it by being a dress-on-the-run in t-shirt and jeans type. He has mostly-straight shoulder-length hair that’s usually tossed into a messy high or low ponytail while he’s running to the bus- but the original color is debatable, since he’s gotten in the habit of dying it vibrant colors. His favorite is flame red. Lion’s eyes are a golden brown, and his skin tone reflects his mixed Asian and European ancestry. No matter what he’s wearing, he probably has a few kunai on him somewhere.
[Occupation] Lion is a high school student and pupil to his father-figure and caretaker, Jerome-sensei. Lion personally does not have much money beyond a regular weekly allowance, but if he wheedles and plays his cards right, he gets most anything he wants from his guardian. (While he can’t exactly get expensive cars or yachts on a whim, he has all the gaming systems he could ever want. And you better believe he plays them.)
[Strengths/Skills] Lion is a fairly athletic teenage boy, with energy and endurance to spare. He’s a passable beginner at ninjitsu, but has no clue about pretty much any other martial arts. Because of this training, he’s a bit stronger and faster than the average, and can maintain such efforts rather well, but he’s sure as hell not an Olympian. He’s reasonably bright, but gets at best a B average through the exhaustive threats *cough* encouragement from his guardian. Despite this, he has a somewhat esoteric (and usually impractical) knowledge of random trivia. He can sneak when he’s really, really trying, but will usually trip on his own feet before he gets the job done. He can and will smite your a** in most fighting video games.
[Weaknesses] Lion is, as has been mentioned, a rather hyperactive and upbeat kid. This translates to a regrettably short attention span regarding things that don’t interest him, an active dislike for book work, and a near hatred for long reading and writing assignments. Trying to hold a conversation with him when he’s distracted is like talking to a goldfish. He’s also not quite done growing and is unfortunately clumsy and accident prone. (It is everyone’s dearest hope that those two facts are correlated. If not, Lion is going to be a very sad ninja indeed.) An alarming number of his accidents somehow involve fire. Possibly due to training or natural disposition, he can get edgy and nervous in wide open empty spaces and also when the absolute center of attention. Public speaking on a stage is an absolute nightmare for him. He sometimes has the bad habit of talking to himself.
[Personality] To recap: Lion is a very genki, hyperactive teenager. He’s sociable and generally wants to be friends with everyone he meets. Lion likes to be happy and for everyone around him to be happy, so he’ll tend to smooth over problems in groups. Even when being a complete goofball, Lion is more perceptive than he seems. He is very loyal and devoted to his mother, and his father-figure, his sensei. However, it is possible to make him mad, and he can become very protective when he thinks someone needs it.
[Brief history/background] A single child, Lion was raised by his single mother until he was eleven, being a normally happy, well-adjusted child doing normal, average child things in a comfortable middle-class background. Just before he turned twelve, Lion was turned over to the wealthy Jerome-sensei’s care. Jerome is reputedly a close friend of Lion’s mother, and an elderly master of ninjitsu. For the past five years, Jerome has been tutoring his exasperating pupil and raising him at a distance. While Lion continues to be a perfectly ordinary boy at school, he is generally isolated from peers his own age outside of it. Lion has gotten used to the friendly attention of Jerome’s servants, and the tough love/distant affection of Jerome himself – but he’s still sometimes boggled by the wealth at Jerome’s disposal.
