Yep, it's not vegetarian.

However, there are many gelatin-free options for foods that usually contain gelatin.
You can find vegan marshmallows online at stores like Vegan Essentials and VeganStore.com.
Swedish fish also don't contain any animal products. PETA2 has a list of candy, snack foods, and other packaged foods that are vegan.

Oh god yes.
Gelatin is taken from bits of connective tissue in animals.. its a by-product of the meat industry. Hooves aren't that commonly used, but its still, you know.. ew. Gelatin = jello/jelly depending on where you're from.

It gets used sometimes in ice cream, and yoghurt. And, obviously, gummi worms and anything like that contains it. Its in some makeup too.

Sorry. I got that off the Simpsons.

There are non-animal options. But the person above already mentioned some, so I'll just go read those

Is it really necessary to eat jello? A lot of people justify eating meat because they don't like the taste of alternatives or they enjoy meat too much. ): Jello isn't good for you or the animals.

Yes. It's made by boiling skin, ligaments, tendons, and bones from animals.
I used to be ignorant and eat it, mostly because I didn't know what it was. But now I don't eat it (even though it's in Skittles, which used to be my favorite candy).
But yeah, I don't suggest eating it if you're a vegetarian.

I had to give up Necco wafers when I went vegetarian, 'cause they have gelatin. TT__TT Can't have Altoids either. Whenever it makes me pout I just tell myself, 'Cow hooves', and I don't want it anymore.
