The Computer Room is right beside the entrance to the Library, and is the only room there in which I will allow beverages and snacks, so long as you tidy up after yourselves. I have two Internet Terminals there, and Wireless access for you teds with Laptops. I know this is not a lot, but I am yet an old-fashioned ted at heart, for all that I now live in Cyberspace. Please use the headphones and do not blast the volume on your music or online gaming. It is very annoying to your neighbors in the room.

An instructor in Eirwyn's Career Transitions course recommended something called "Open Office Suite" to the students as a free alternative to Microsoft Office, and Eirwyn downloaded it. It took many hours to accomplish, and as yet I see no great reward for our patience. It seems a most poor substitute for all it is supposed to be a boon to students of little means. As a matter of fact, Eirwyn was trying to create a slide show today as she has done in her class using Powerpoint, and not only found it far more confusing but it almost crashed her computer to boot! :X Has anyone else had any experience with this free program package?
