Frederick Kard opened the door. His eyes low, he seemed lost in thought for a moment. Outside of warzones he was a rather quiet person. He looked up as he walked in and a little surprise passed his eyes as he saw Xenos sitting there, cutting his apple. He nodded silently in a greeting and strode past him into the kitchen and after some searching around, pulled two slices of white bread from the dry cabinet and popped them in the toaster, pushing the lever down. While he waited he went into the cabinet and pulled out the strawberry jam and butter. Once the toast had finally jumped up, light brown and steaming. Kard walked back and grabbed his toast, then spent the next fifteen seconds swearing loudly under his breath and shaking his fingers off before once again, carefully, grabbing his toast and put it on a plate. He put butter and jelly on it before carrying it to an empty tabe and started slowly eating his snack. After a moment he put down the toast and undid a clip at the back of his neck, pulling out a small gold locket and, looking at it in the palm of his hand, ran his thumb across it, staring at it as though it were all that mattered in the world.
